- Simon was called out to a swan that had been struggling to walk. Upon rescuing it, he discovered a giant lump underneath the foot. Far too complex a case for Wildlife Aid at the time of filming, Simon brought the swan to an expert who got to work on seeing whether or not the swan could be saved...

I know when the vet sees you show up, he instantly thinks "what animal are you bringing me this time around"

She was remarkably calm - I think she knew that she was being helped... she even didn’t object when Simon called her a”good boy”!
I got teary eyed when the 2 swans started their courtship ritual. 💕

For me, swans are now synonymous with Simon. When someone mentions “swan” the first image that comes to mind is Simon saying “stop bullying” and “shuh shuh shush”
He certainly has dealt with a fair few swans over the past 40 years!
When I think of white Swans, I can't help thinking of that short video where poor Lawrie keeps getting hissed at and bitten by the extremely ungrateful swan in the back seat.

In the world of selfish doom and gloom, there are some people who fight against that and show what mankind is suppose to act like.

aside from me loving wildlife and finding this fascinating as a topic I admire and adore what they accomplish here! when I send one to someone (a friend who also rescues & is licensed etc) or post them on social media Many enjoy all of these. they give some hope in dark times. (these past 5 years for me).

Simon is such a Good Man. He easily could have said no to the surgery. But he said yes, we’ll help her.
We're very lucky to have such skilled vets volunteer their time and expertise!

@@xaraxania yes but there’s also the cost, complications with any surgery, and the Dr saying he didn’t think it was necessary.
@@02337755 "Not necessary" - maybe so. It's all a balance of several factors and the main one has to be the quality of life for the animal.
I think the quality of life for two swans there went up 200 and 100% respectively !

Until your videos I had no idea how gentle, calm and intelligent swans are. Unless they're protecting their young then the gentle goes away.

What a great saga ..From rescue and a severe problem on a foot the feathered beauty gets a successful OP , and meets the partner of her dreams .He likes what he sees and so ok for him her slight limp adds to her charm and brings out his protective side ..Hope we get follow ups on these newly engaged :)👍❤️

Ohhhhh how Heart warming Your all amazing at wildlife Aid although we are living in Cornwall now we lived in Cobham for nearly 40 yrs I remember when you and your wife first started Sildlife Aid over the years you helped save so many of our animals that my 2 sons rescued from owls to Adders and nest full of Grass snake eggs from a compost at a field near plough meadows

A rescue and a love story all in one :)
You are a wonderful man to care for the animal kingdom the way you do. And, don't think they don't know. There is a video on YT where a man spent years saving elephants from poachers for their ivory tusks. When that man died, the elephants led by their matriarch, walked two days to that man's home, and stayed for 48 hours showing their respect and then turned around and walked home. I was surprised when I saw on YT animals in the wild saving other animals of a different species. I know that people have been saved by animals, even in the wild. Sometimes I think we maybe helping angels unaware and vice versa. You are a blessed person.

No wonder YT kept pushing this video to the top of my queue dispite my searches being more on swans assaulting people and chasing them. ;-) One of the best Wildlife Aid videos of Simon's that i've seen yet. Great job rehabbing and then marrying off this swan!
When the two swans decided to pair up, that beautiful mating ritual seemed like the equivalent of ballroom dancing: beautifully, artfully, exquisitely synchronized!
