Wow! That is remarkable. A swan going to the vet in the front seat of a guy's car - are you kidding me? This is one of the most amazing stories of wild animals trusting a human I've ever heard. I am so envious. You're my hero!!
omgosh I came to say the same! that scene was epic! could have been part of a film and everyone would have believed fiction is fiction, but as always truth is stranger than fiction!
yes but they are also not that sturdy, if they get angry and attack, they are just as likely to get injured as the one being attacked, a bit of a problem, a Goose is a better security. Yes, Swans are bigger and stronger but Geese are much better at not getting hurt, so not as impressive but way more effective. Only problem is, Swans and Geese don't really get along all that well so... maybe a entirely different type of animal for that? i mean, there is a reason, dogs are at our side for this long already, if those Swans trust this human that much, he could surely introduce a puppy and raise it as a guard.
@@raistormrs the swans along the river in Spokane Washington were aggressive and honery during my childhood. Learned to give them wide berth, Canadian geese as well. Think I saw a channel that had a goose protecting chickens from hawks awhile ago.
Having a human family as security is a REALLY smart move though. Pretty much everything in nature is terrified of us, with damn good reason. Just by nesting in a humans back yard they can cut down the number of predators and rivals that would come near you by a vast degree, in addition to being given food regularly.
'My little piece of Heaven in my backyard'.............. Your not kidding Dude! Beautiful on sooo many levels....... Thank you for sharing. Go well All
This is insane considering that swans-especially wild swans-are typically just like geese in behavior and even worse in temperament. Not to mention they’re a lot bigger than the typical goose. The swans behaving themselves near him and his _child_ with their _own cygnets_ following them casually into his house is just so telling of how much they all trust one another.
The fact that the swans feel safe in your garden and around you is a testament to your kind and generous spirit. A swan co-pilot in the car ? A baby swan that calls you parent? I'M SOOO JEALOUS. Thank you for showing us this. It was a treat!
I'm a fan of folks who help wildlife. It doesn't take much--maybe it's a birdhouse you attach to a tree, or a winter feeder you regularly fill, or maybe a xmas donation to a wildlife sanctuary near you. Any of these steps or something like them can make a huge difference to the wildlife around you.
Yessss- everyone read exactly what the OP said, it was stated perfectly. Do your part it's really simple and you'll likely be rewarded The Most by doing so. My dad is 81 and he still fills the squirrel proof bird feeder outside the kitchen window every few days as it brings him much relaxation to have his morning coffee and look out the window to see all the birds enjoying his beautifully landscaped backyard & curious squirrels trying to find a way to get into the bird feeder always intrigued him. In the winter it's extra important to put out feed for the birds, and in the spring/summer he also has a lot of hummingbirds on their feeder as well. He also gives the neighbors labrador a treat when he wanders through & feeds the neighborhood cat daily.
@@BuffaloNickel9 Your 81 year old Dad is surrounded by friends he takes care of & enjoys spending time with. I hope when I'm 81 I'm like him, still helping out where I can, still with a purpose in life, still needed, still being generous & caring about the world around me. #GoDad!!! 💖
❣💯 Thank you, Cuddle Buddies, for the vlog from CJ Webber whose backyard has become the safe nesting ground for these awesome swans. Really big kudos, Mr. Webber, for saving that "runt swan" who would not have survived as so many insects were swarming him. He's imprinted on you and, Dad, you did a wonderful act of human kindness. Yay! CJ!
You're such a nice man to allow the swans to nest in your backyard. You have built up trust and respect between species. I love how good you are to them and their many babies. 👏👏🦢
Funny thing is, they don't know it's your backyard (the deed means nothing to them). Over many years the wildlife constantly in my yard has made me feel like their guest. Seems you have converted too. We're so lucky. 😊❤
The crazy thing is I've seen all kinds of animals that normally aren't fond of humans but seem to have their favorites. We've all seen videos like Rambro, the mother black bear with her cubs, foxes that have humans, and we all know someone that feeds wild birds of some type and they always return because they know these humans are safe.
I totally agree w/you. A injured dog walked about a mile from his home & up a flight of stairs to find shelter. Imagine our surprise when my daughter opened the door & saw the dog. Somehow they just know they found someone to help. I can just think of cats & dogs etc. & they show up. 🙃 I think they have some sort of internal compass that points them in the direction of help. I have had animals in my life since I was a little kid.....they are so much easier to understand than humans 🙃🌻
I have a family of chipmonks, multiple generations, that now live in my garage during the winter and in a summer home I made them in the front. The original one was best friend of my old cat and they would sit together in my front steps.
Lovely and lucky fellow (CJ) who responded to this unexpected gift/visitation with tenderness, intelligence, and appreciation. Many years of neighborship to all of them..
I feel that way too about my backyard birds and lizards. I think bird people are special. The birds know it, too. That’s why they chose him. Need more people on the planet like him.
How wonderful to have a swan family setting up home in your back garden, and that you take such good care of them. Here in the U.K 🇬🇧, all swans belong to the Crown, and every year there's an event called 'Swan Upping' on the River Thames. The King's Swan Warden collects data and checks the health of the cygnets, and generally makes sure everything is well with them.
Absolutely love this, I have several species of wild ducks and other birds that come to my backyard every day. I give them a little wheat but not enough to be too dependent upon me. I can wander in the yard and they will stay but I do not want them to become tame here, as not all humans are nice! Love how you care for these beautiful majestic creature 🦢🦢💓
I cannot imagine the wonderful good you have done for so many precious swans. You have been chosen by these swans to protect and love them. This is an incredible thing to happen to you and a blessing to your swans…. Actually, a blessing to you both.
aw, i love this ... thank you for looking out for them, swans are wonderful beings. im sure you learned quite a great deal from them, as that is how it should be ... people should learn from animals, simply becasue we can. not to say they don t learn, they definatley do, just not to the extent we can, and thats just nature ...

I'm jealous! Question. Are they as dirty as geese?
That must be a first! Lol
