This tune was originally composed by arranger, composer and double bassist Spike Hughes and was recorded in New York, 1933, during his renowned productive recording years. The original recording features a mixed bag of musicians from the great local orchestras of the time; the ensemble was named "Spike Hughes and His Negro Orchestra" for this recording session, prominently featuring the great tenor saxophonist Coleman Hawkins, who played the lead melody.

Sorry, no, that would require the record company to release the original tracks and everything; I am merely typing my transcription into a music software that does a fair job in playing it back :)

Sure, the drummer is Kenny Wollesen. His part is not transcribed, though, which is why his name doesn't appear on list of the transcribed instruments :)
