The Hidden Curriculum parallels the way to the Cross. Thank you, John.
Thank you … John. A lot to think about. When I am transparent, I am revealing the true hidden curriculum. This is why it’s so important to have accountability partners and share what’s on our heart so we can discern between what is “true” and what is the “truth”. True growth is when my chronological age and emotional age come together. Often times my hidden curriculum is my younger self, not getting what I want. I can relate to all of this. I will practice it and use it in my practice!
Thank you John! I just love this series everyday! So grateful for you!
Same here!
WOW!! This is it, working out our salvation moment by moment. Thank you for passing along such rich, life-giving content and Truth.
Steve Porter’s contribution (chapter 5) to “Eternal Living” contains a great example of a hidden curriculum in action in a university setting.
So important. Thank you.✨
Thank you for this great reminder to LOOK for the hidden lesson- and to actively live it out loud!
Appreciate the insight!
I always recognized the "hidden curriculum" as a product of it when I was in school and when I worked harder on it than the formal curriculum, but as a teacher I tried to break that model. But calling on kids in my classes who did not enjoy the participation, ended up feeling like a punishment for them so I rarely forced them to "belong" with the kids who wanted that kind of attention. I recall so many differences that I wanted to make where I fell short.
I, too, stumble in carrying out my desires effectively (my actions are rarely worthy of an anecdote). But I take solace in the fact that just as the hidden curriculum is exposed by less honorable values we hold dear, your value of those students was apparent and offered a temporary wind-break in some small but life-building way.
How true I’ve learned this to be in this senior chapter of my life. Does it always need age to realize this or is it gained by some when younger?
