We set up and hosted one of the largest unsupported and UNSPONSORED indoor cycling event in the world. Truly truly humbled, we rallied together and showed up as a fucking army. I wear my heart on my sleeve, and yeah we lost this fight. But this is a war, I’ll be back.
You had it in you, you had the power and the skill and experience, so why did you lose, simply because he treated it as a race, you treated it as a social event with the "race" as the "bait", when are you going to learn!
Killer ride Cam! I've watched both videos of yesterday's race and you reacted and handled it all with class! You choose to depict events drama & excuses free. So much more entertaining than VC's outlooks. Thanks for creating entertaining content every day and can't wait to keep up with your story. Ride on!
DOOOODE! What an amazing event! To be clear here, to have any chance at beating Cam I had to do my best 40min power I have ever done...EVER! I really didnt think I had that effort in me, and there was a 99% chance Cam was gonna smash me. Plus, with some confusion at the start, Cam had to burn a match or two to stay at the front which i did not, then he waited for me like a tru gentleman. PLUS I had the TRON bike....which very much could have been the difference. /// So everything went my way and I BARELY got him. The re-match is gonna be FIRE!!! So much respect. 95% of people would never put themselves on the line like this, especially people with the amount of following you have. Competing, and possibly losing even if you're "suppose" to win is ALWAYS a way more impressive feat than not competing.

Exceptional event the two of you put on. Goes to show only the surface has been scratched of what is capable in eSports. It's totally understandable that you jumped out with the lead group, as that is the norm in Zwift events, but obviously, there was a "gentleman's agreement" for a neutralized start. It's quite likely had you come in rested and not been shot out of a cannon, you would have won this. Nonetheless, both you and Tyler are excellent ambassadors for Zwift and cycling, in general. Thanks for helping create more community in cycling.
VC is no joke and could probably ride with any pro peloton on any given day. Nice work to both of you and it’s so nice to see some class in sports these days, win or lose.

To be fair, VC said he tapered a bit for the event while you were out crashing your bike :P I bet the rematch will be super exciting since I have a feeling you will come after it even harder and maybe with a more specific training plan and tapering. The stars aligned for the Vegan on this one. He deserved his win but he did need the aid of all the tricks in his Zwift armoury. Next time will be different 4 sure. Stick to the Alp climb format,it’s epic.
Everything in my program set me up for the best possible power that day. But thats what it was going to take to win, breaking personal records. I probably took this way more serious TBH. Next time, Cam is gonna bring 100% and I will be out the back.
Just compare the Powergraph from you and VC, he was like 40 Minutes full in Z4/5/6.. he went so much deeper. Get a little bit of a tapering next time and i'm pretty sure you'll win

My tacx neo has just arrived and I've just downloaded zwift. It's been a couple years since I've cycled really so got a friend coming round later with a tool to put the cassette on and then I'm ready to go! So excited. Being at uni and having a job and not being able to get out in the daylight or in safe conditions is not gonna be a problem any more :D was super expensive but a great long term investment. Now I dont have to wait til graduation to start riding properly wooohoooo. Your zwift videos have highly influenced me into this expensive purchase lol

In ideal circumstances Cam should always win, he has more power and competes at a higher level. But Tyler tapered (instead of a hard session the day before) and in this instance suffered deeper, and it was still close. He deserved this win fully, and we got the best outcome we can all hope for, a close fight and an unlikely victory for the bravest :) Instead of Cam just slowly riding away after half a climb, If you want to see boring rubbish like that you can watch the tour and team sky.
Tyler also had better strategy as it turns out. Much as I like Cam, I'm happy our Californian won. Can't count VC out in the rematch- he's pretty crafty :)
California cyclists rarely ride at the level that people from other areas assume. They ride at a higher level because there is so much competition here even though their race results don't show it or they might not be in a higher grade just because of the competition
