In the latest 10am UTC update which was released just after you posted the video, Dalin is now the leader, and the top 3 is within 0.5 nm after having sailed for more than 14,000 nm, with Dalin and Richomme still side by side! This is a truly incredible race. I'm glad we have all the technology today to follow that and sometimes even see it!
what a miraculous accomplishment from Pippin, she really is sailing a marvelous race. Love Sam Davies, she'll be back in the hunt after her unfortunate breakage with the weather, travelling at unbelievable speeds, these IMOCA's will be back in France for the New Year. Just remarkable footage!
Thank you so much again for your daily informative news 👍👏 I never saild, but my son in the USA makes race-sailing. And with my 81 years not a good idea to sail⁉️ Take care and greetings from Eckernfoerde/North-Germany 💙🫶🌊⛵️💨🎄🤶
@@Sail-World That is very true! Awesome race so far and thanks for the amazing updates, keep it going! Are you doing one on Christmas day? Boxing day reporting from the Setley Cap??
Is the weather routing for Seb Simon made with a new polar reflecting the assymmetry of the broken foil? Would be interesting to know how such damage impacts the strategical choices.
Sadly no, just the generic foiler polar and his starting position. He seems to be handling things pretty well and keeping his speeds up, all things considered!
in sea with no wind is so unpleasant. both sailors and non sailors would like to see the sea. instead a close up talking about 5 m waves etc. the sea is very interesting
This is NOT any fun for the leaders. Each of the three leaders are taking the sea and wind ON THE NOSE, as they are sailing BELOW the Southern Ocean systems. I think I want to heave to.
All I Sea Sam Davies is'sa my practice, Feather weight Soccer Ball™ 🦜 âsh'ent'hymm a'a Thank you for taking Us Along 🌎 tropical Aire mixing with the Polar Mass is What's Been going on in Seattle ☮️ Three big Low's top wind (mountain station) 120 MPH 💚❤️
please keep Pip hares update until she reaches land safely
Aiming to do just that hopefully :-)

Amazing isn't it! The gaps between them are now measured in metres rather than miles!
Just WOW! All these sailors are truly incredible. The ones at the front battling for the lead is next level!

Good job, loving the coverage, presently anchored in Curacao after hurricane season.
Glad you're enjoying the coverage and enjoy the Caribbean!
Unbelievable is the best word great coverage
Unbelievable how close the front pack is to each other!
Truly extraordinary!
I like these longer ones, thanks!
Tough conditions, close fight for the leaders. Congrats Seb. Bouncing and bobbing for the chasing pack. Another interesting 7 - 10 days.
Thank you Mark for translating the race ❤
I wish them all the same but it’s so cool to see lead changes
Sam take care of you and your boat..........you are all exceptionnel!
Thanks for the heads up.
The small birds swooping behind Boris look like Storm Petrels to me, but can't be sure
Thank you, I was very curious about the bird species. Storm petrels are very hardy. I think you are right. Merci bien Etienne
The birds are probably Antarctic Petrels, Thalassoica antarctica.
Good to know! Thank you!
Could be Sooty Shearwaters. They are present in that region and have a large breeding population on Auckland Island that the leaders recently passed.
I love an optimist, good luck Sam.
So exciting

It's never too late to start sailing! My dad was still winning events in his 80s! :-)
Love Sam's globe!
So much information! Can't believe how close it is at the front.... match racing in the Southern Ocean!
It's the most extraordinary race! Blink for a moment and you miss something!

Are you doing one on Christmas day?
Boxing day reporting from the Setley Cap??
Yes, I'll do one every day, any maybe something from the Setley Cup!
the Americas Cup earlier in the year was like watching paint dry compared to this
This Vendee has got more of an inshore regatta feel to it with the closeness of the racing!
@cilldublin07 😂

Bravo Simon..........
My bucks are on Boris and Nicholas, playing the hare and tortoise game .
The top 3 are in a race of their own.
Right now, yes, but there's a long way to go... and what a race they're having!
@@Sail-World No. It is done.
100% if it was 1 boat, it was still possible, but 3? 1 out of 3 will win.
thanks!
You're welcome!
Boris: storm petrels?
Oulala very BIG!!
Fantastic, Sam Davies in English, Fantastic.
Storm Petrels
I would like to know what the average decibel level inside the cabin when hitting 15 - 20 knots. I suspect there is a risk of hearing loss.
How wide is the allowed sailing path between Cape Horn and the exclusion zone? Also, how many miles long is this bottle neck?
Do the sailors share strategy or cooperate in any way or is this forbidden?
I'd like to see more lat and long positions please
God the Sam Pip!
The Flat Earth Society will be shocked by this episode 🙂
They will claim the inflatable ball proves nothing!

This is why I included the update from Boris, as it gave an idea of what the sea stage was like.
Guy with the broken boat is leading. Amazing. What level of skill does that take?
The Frencee Globe. Why not one sailor per nationality?

Unbelievable this interest in people who are racing a more than 1500 NM behind the leaders
