Thanks for this reminder. Much appreciated. I suggest, if possible, to separate your food stuffs in different areas. Find hiding places through out your house or property. There can be some very creative spots. They may come across one stash and figure that was it. Or take them to the spot that has your expired dates and say you are welcome to anything you want there. Sort of a decoy. Knowing your good stuff is hidden in a better place.

The problem with giving food is they will come back for more. It's better to tell them you don't have anything to spare. Also the smell of food cooking will travel a long way so you will have to be very diligent if you live in an area with a lot of people.

Because I have shipments sent to work to prevent porch pirates (including MRE's in marked boxes), my coworkers (police officers and dispatchers, I'm a dispatcher) know I prep, and have joked about coming to my house if SHTF. I've told them don't bother, I've discussed it with them, and keep warning them to prepare now, go spend $20-40 every couple of weeks at the dollar store. Told them to imagine Clint Eastwood in "Gran Torino", "get off my lawn"; that will be me, well armed as they know I am, from all of the ammo I have shipped to the station. Like you, I raised the alarm, that's on them if they choose not to heed that, because I'm an older boomer (60) who don't know nothing.
My daughter (25) on the other hand, would be a different matter, who lives on her own. I've warned her to prepare, to get into the habit. She lives about a 25 minute drive from me, and have warned her that she may not have access to me, or vice versa, depending on the type or scale of a disaster.
Great topic, glad to hear from you again!

I understand what you're saying. But by telling them "Every meal I give you is a meal I won't have", lets them know that you potentially have more food in your house, so they may come back, with friends, armed friends......
I don't know all the answers, I wish I did.

I have been contemplating a similar thing,(thus why I watched the video) but in regards to my go bag. Carrying an extra water bottle, MRE or something of that nature to give to a friend or coworker in shtf if they're nearby, or for trading material if I have a distance to cover b4 getting home.

Have many many stash spots. That’s the key.
If you give stuff away, give away expired and undesirable food, they won’t be back if your food sux.
Users want to beat most tasty slop to stuff in their piggy faces.

I think helping someone in that scenario will be a very powerful in leading them to Christ but definitely opening yourself to a dangerous situation.

The good stuff in the background is just a bag of dry dust. You should prep by saving real food in cans: green vegetables and meats. Forget the bags of dust. I have boxes and boxes of full of that stuff and hope I never have to eat it. I also own cans of actual food that I am happy to own.
