So glad they brought in Rick Fox. Love his input since you can tell he gets league of legends but also understands high level performance and what it takes to be world class.
So amazing to have such a long episode with Sneaky, Fox and Jatt again no less. I will never stop appreciating Rick Fox's understanding of the caliber of skill professional gamers have. There is a difference of physically taxing sport vs chronic issues with gaming, but the requirements for being world class at any skill will always be incredibly taxing. And he truly understands and advocates for what the players deal with to attain that level of skill.
The way he talks about the LCS in such a high standard is my favorite. He clearly respect pro gaming its so cool. He was talking about joining the best teams when trying to hang a banner. Constantly referred to sneaky and meteos as legends of the game. It’s really nice to see someone with such a pedigree be so humble to something most would consider just kids gaming
Please lets get Rick back in the LCS. This guy is such a nice and genuine guy who just got fucked over because of the system at the time and he was new to E-sports. A general manager for League such as Papasmithy on 100T would help out this guy a lot if he plans on returning to e-sports.
Why do people never remember how bad echo fox treated thier players? Is it cause Rick Fox has a great personality? Echo fox did some awful shit to thier players
@@briancurtis3965 you’re stupid the only bad thing they did was let go players near contract signing deadline in which case orgs like tsm 100t and TL have done plenty of times
@@briancurtis3965 The issue was that it wasn't Rick Fox. The way the execs wanted to treat the players was one of the reasons why they tried to push Rick Fox out. Instead the org collapsed.

I adore Rick. I was super bummed over Echo Fox's exit from the LCS because I was just a big fan of Rick Fox; not from basketball but as an LCS owner. Hearing him talk about League of Legends and equating it in some ways to his time as an athlete felt magical. I would love to see him involved in some way in LCS in the future. He is one of my favorite personalities in Esports.
Man Rick Fox is an incredible storyteller and I love his passion. It's so cool to hear from someone who is passionate about traditional sports and esports, I feel like there's so much to learn by comparing and contrasting the two.
We need Rick Fox back. You can tell he is passionate about League and is such a great personality. It also doesn't sit right with me the way things ended. Just feels like the racist won in the end. Justice for Rick Fox 😞
If anyone is confused, there was a racist head at Echo Fox and he was asked by riot that he needed to removed or the team would be removed from LCS. However, since he had a big stock of the company he couldn't be removed and he refused to leave so Fox's spot was removed from LCS. That's a bad TLDR but hopefully it makes sense.
I'm so thankful to have Rick as an ally to the game, to this league, and even the validity of eSports as a whole. The guy is a treasure trove of experience for everyone on all walks of life, and the fact that he personally invested himself to be a PART of this community, not just as a hidden investor or whatever, is huge.
Was looking for this comment. Me too man. They need to come back to LCS. I don't watch unless it's their stream. Every team is just trying to find the new hotness each split in some new player and are killing the games popularity as a result... And they aren't even achieving anything.
Sneaky was the one that help me have a tilt proof attitude. That dude hardly ever gets tilted. I used to watch his stream and videos a lot. His attitude toward the game basically help shape my outlook on the game and players.
Rick Fox!! I miss this guy. Wish he couldve gotten a 'bjergsen' caliber player to start off his org. I think his aura was unique to the league scene. ...give him CLG's spot.. hehe
Rick Fox is a legend, you can even tell by the way the others submerge into his stories with attention. Big fan of his Open Court series appearances as well. He is just as real as it gets.
LOVED this whole cast. It was super interesting to hear Rick break down the coaching style of Phil Jackson as well. I feel like there is a lot for Esports coaches to learn from tenured coaches in traditional sports, in terms of encouraging healthy growth through conflict or conversation.
Dude 2 things: 1) never stop next level 2) give Rick Fox a space in the scene, so much to learn from him and the new audience will be crazy Pd: from Venezuela with love
Rick please come back lolz needs you. I always loved how you looked at esports players on the same level as traditional sports players. Mad respect come back brother.
Definitely saved the best cast for last, what an absolutely amazing episode! I really hope we keep this kind of show format for next season it's so good!
Best part of this episode, everything. I enjoyed, listened, loved every 50mins and 58s of it. Well done and damn good. Rick Fox and Jatt: GOATS. Kaizen following up with amazing questions too.
I love how sneaky talking about licorice tells alot about why sneaky left the team. It really was licorice! You can see those same mistakes in shot calling in licorice in present day with how he plays.
love this show so much, and wow Rick Fox's presence was super intuitive to someone who doesn't know much about physical sports, but knows about esports. i always did like Rick and it's so shitty what happened to him
45:00 Rick , I remember watching that relegation tournament a an Fox fan. I sat in my room watching that entire tournament praying for the team. You talking about this reminded me of why I loved that team so much.
I love that Rick Fox lends so much of his hard earned credence to a new type of sports & athletes such as e-sports. It really shows how much he truly believes in the true sense of competition and athletes of all sorts. I have so much respect for this man and I'm so happy he's apart of this.
Gotta say, this is my fav episode. Props to Rick Fox for actually contributing to competitive league. Kinda sad his team didn't pan out so well, but still.
Great editing to get the reactions of the other participants to a person's monologue, also the cuts with the music were well handled. Makes it look professional and dynamic. They should add timestamps for topics, though.
I would love to see other pro players talk with rick fox as well, the guy is very intimate with competition, styles of plays, styles of mentality and so on. It'd be really fun to hear what kind of conversations he would have with other players, because other than Meteos being a bit more opinionated on how the team should conform themselves (not in a bad way), he and Sneaky are fairly similar minded players. It would be really dope to hear him talk to people like Bjergsen or Dlift who have a much more "MVP" mindset in the sense that they want to be THE driving force. But the two of them approach that insanely differently. Idk, just bring other experienced players and have these talks. This segment was fantastic, would love to hear other voices too.
Esports is still at a stage at which there are so many lessons to be learned from traditional sports. There is a lot of things that LoL players can learn about the nature of competition, the mentality, the professionalism, etc. Rick was the perfect man to infuse that wisdom into the LCS, but that process was cut short.

Agree that LCS needs to find a way to get Rick Fox back involved in LoL. Next Level has been a great series this year, and this episode was very good. I'm a big fan of Sneaky and Meteos anyway, and everyone on the show has interesting things to say. I know they are trying to diversify the content on the show by bringing people in from other genres, but I really enjoy the league-focused ones the best.
God I love this, and I miss Rick Fox in the LCS, I wish he would come back. P.S. if Rick fox was the glue in the Lakers team and can play Offense and Defense he should roleswap to Support from ADC coz I think it would suit his style better, who knows he might reach gold.
So glad they brought in Rick Fox. Love his input since you can tell he gets league of legends but also understands high level performance and what it takes to be world class.
