- The Day Before, a game that was considered a scam and a fake game has finally released with over 200k people having it at the top of their Wishlist. I now think I would have preferred if it was a scam. I knew it was going to be underwhelming, but could this be shitter than shit, this is my review.

I doubt they get close to giving us what’s in those trailers. This game is worse than PUBG and there’s not much to do in that game either. Really sucks that companies have all followed the “early access” route and release unfinished games just to make a quick buck. Why not just have a free open beta?

This is why game mechanics is more important than getting realistic graphics. No matter how much effort you put into the attention to detail, if the gameplay sucks, the game sucks.

The game is a scam, lol. They don't care what makes a good game. They are a bunch of volunteer game developers who thought they could prey on gamers because we are all starved for a quality game to come out. It's eerily similar to other Chinese scam games on steam. It's a well-known model.
Yeah, graphics comes later but that doesnt mean it is less important.
This game should be called We Have The Division At Home, because it _literally_ looks like the Dollar General version of The Division.

Opening the game you get a 'will you let us scrape your system for data that may or may not be relevant to the game's functioning' EULA and sounds pretty alert worthy. Trust the anti-virus warning on this one.

This game reminds me of crypto. Those who got in, checked it and got out early are doing fine. Those who stick around will get burned. I deleted at the 1 hour mark, once I realised my storage was being deleted every time I went into the city. The fact it doesn't even have an open world sealed the deal for me.
Exactly what this is. So wild this is even legal just because the bullshit label "Early Access" smfh.

I didn't spawn in the wall or die getting out of the bed, but I couldn't get out of the room.. holding F on the door did nothing for me.. relogged several times and it never lets me out of the room. The game also has major issues with 21:9 monitors. I refunded 45 minutes in.
Its good to see Steam still honouring refunds over the 2 hour cutoff too, they clearly see the influx of requests

Crazy cuz my first game I got screwed but like 10 Zs and tried to run away and more kept added up
What the trailers and all info let us know made me think that this is how it would of worked : Inside and outside the city would be designated safezones and 1 main safezone HQ where you do all of the trading/banking and whatnot andyou could enter/leave these safe zones freely without any transitions ( think of division 1 safehouses + HQ ) While you would be out in the world zombies would be a real threat with numbers more than just bullet sponges and making noise would be the biggest risk you could do so you would have to be mindful of how you approach areas. Like how the fuck in 3-4 years did they not manage to do any of these things while they CLEARLY advertised it being somewhat like this ?
Willful disregard for their own promises. These people promised the stars, knowing it’ll give them thousands, if not millions of unearned dollars.
shockingly the only good the day before review. every other video I've seen just talks about how the game is bad but never actually shows why or mentions anything beyond a few bugs.

I don't think that's necessarily true. I haven't every the day before video, but the ones I've seen mention more than a few bugs. They mentioned stuff like the lack of zombies and the world being empty.
Honestly the funniest part is this is pretty clearly a pump and dump game they didn't make this in 5 years this was made pretty rapidly recently. This team just walked away with millions of dollars and you know what hats off to them. From day one there were red flags there were nothing but more and more red flags as we got closer to today. No sympathy for the people who purchased this no sympathy at all if you get scammed by this well buddy that's on you. These guys just walked out the door with millions for doing very little congrats confusing how you pulled it off but congrats.
I imagine the real impact this game will have is the AAA industry saw how this shot up to the number one wish listed game pretty much immediately on steam. No doubt in the next 3 to 7 years we will be seeing more takes of what this game was advertised as just with awful monetization added in. That amount of rabid fandom out of nothing but a trailer must have some devs spinning in the background right now in the AAA industry.
It's even more dissapointing that on the 4th of decemeber they had a steam post pretty much showing the devs underbelly, it felt so real and made me think "damn maybe these devs are really trying and we're just not giving them enough credit" but in reality is was a scam, a scam to players, a scam to investors, and a scam to everyone who wishlisted the game.

This game was going to be a massive fail from the start. They have taken a beautiful engine of possibility, got help from volunteers and made a game that trolls the entire industry and its fans. What an absolute disgrace this company is. I hope the guy who lost the case for the name is laughing and drinking champagne right now

the server thing is bad to yeah but my buddy and i could play alot together and had many pvp fights, we dont had crashes or fall throu the map we even found a silencer
40 for the game is still to mutch but when they polish it get rid of the bugs and make the map bigger i think it could be good

The game is missing so many basic features its actually hilarious. No melee? No vaulting? no directional sound. And for the love of God those alarms!!!

Ubisoft and Massive could EASILY make this game to everyones expectations. They should definitely look into it, because if people were playing this and a LOT of streamers were and saying "There's something here that's good", then it would be a no brainer for Massive to do it.
they did a day 1 patch fixing that spawning outside the doctor office and simply shorter server list by removing every server that is full so you have less scrolling down.
Plenty more needed to be added on day 1

I also had my whole stash bug out and delete all my items. So yeah it’s boring it’s buggy and it’s incomplete. I mean what game like this doesn’t have a mantle option to get over obstacles lol

Tried for over a hour to just connect to a open server. When I get in I got maybe 20 minutes never even made it out the base. Then got booted for some bullcrap error. Already requested refunded what a disappointment.

It’s definitely not open world. Open worlds are fluid, can be traversed from multiple points etc. This is simply a large instance. Everything in this game is an instance. It’s ultimately an extraction shooter, but the problem is there is nothing worth extracting and there are no warring factions. You can buy any gun at the vendor, and since you get $500 every time you die you can just die over and over and then buy gear as needed. It’s all a bad joke.

It would be nice to see them work hard on updates every few week just like we are getting with Sons of the Forest, but I'm afraid this is not gonna be the case. This is like pre-alpha state.

THE DAY BEFORE I GOT SCAMMED...
There were some bangers this year, bg3 in particular but yes there were some major doozies too.
When in the start screen and trying to find a server, my GPU was pegged 100%..... At the title screen! I'm running a 3080. No reason any GPU should really be pegged at the title screen where you spend most of your time trying to find a server to get in. It dropped to realistic loads during actual gameplay but come on.
To be fair to the devs, my anti-virus flags all my steam games

I had no hope for this when i was announced. They promised way to much for a new starting studio. No way they could achieve that, then all the bad come out since. Its likely this game stopped development for years then asset flipped at last min to make some money from people too trusting. The servers will be shutdown before its anniversary im sure
32 player mmo? So what happens if people are at work or asleep or out of the house, etc.? Not really MASSIVE is it? The horrid frame rates when 3 or 4 zombies come near is enough to warn me off. I think we all knew what a low speed turd this "game" would become.
Time to get back to the Division .

I watched a bunch of gameplay and the city is just dead and empty.
Some zombies take many, many shots to the head and if the player doesn't finish them off they crouch for a while then totally recover.
And the graphics are muddy looking and dull. The graphics look no better than games from ten years ago.
The biggest shock with this game is the fact that players are shocked that it never delivered what they promised. Every single time these days people are hypnotised by graphics and nothing more. Artists have the easiest job in the world, they can make anything look beautiful. Gameplay has been the hardest thing to crack since the earliest days and that goes back to the 60s. People need to stop thinking games are going to be amzing purely from a graphically perspective.. Everything looks beautiful these days, gameplay loops are not so easy. Stop fawning over graphics!!!

Even though it’s a knock off of The Division I do like the idea of a third person game like Escape from Tarkov with some extra activities. The bad news is the developers are not going to fix or make this game better. Their track record is horrible and I believe they needed funding for their chat program they are working on.
What I don't understand is with 200,000 wish list why do AAA companies not understand that this kind of game is something that everybody wants so bad AAA studio like Ubisoft could make something like this and it would absolutely explode.. also a lot of the gunshots that you hear are added into the game they're not even from players how crazy is that.

Havent played this game. player character here is reminisent of joel from the last of us, game concept reminds me of dayz, bases look like the division. Hodge podge podge of game genres. But game must be really bad coz haven't come across single positive review...
I mean its a straight zombie ripoff of the division... but buggier... and with extractions now? idk... if its framed after that, low player count per server makes sense, only a few buildings to go into here and there also makes sense..

Let me add to the salt here...for those of us that have 49" wide monitors, there is no support for 5000pixel formatting so when you play, things are all cut off screen...example, the gps tablet fills the entire screen...same with map visibility etc. Controls didn't all work if you remap...Crouch never worked and some other controls. The big thing was the game was NEVER branded as an extraction shooter which sucks. Took me 3 hours to go for my refund as I was hoping things got better but they just got worse, and worse.
My PC is running a 14900KF i9 with 48ghz 8K ram all couple with a 4090 GPU...with all that, it didn't look great due to the limited resolution options available. Total disappointment - DONT BUY IT!
We should really all be worried about the path game especially pc gaming is going. Not only do you have to worry about poor performance you have games like this you have to be cautious of. Why 10-20 years ago this wasn’t a issue. Let’s go back to what made games enjoyable. Not paywalls and Peter Griffin skins.
Peoples uust play Escape From Tarkov or if you want a single player experience Tarkov with the single player mod SPT.

Graphics can no longer be a factor when it comes to judging games, UE let's devs pump out high quality looking assets too easily.
This games UI looked dogshit from day 1 and that made me skeptical, it looked like it was early alpha only a couple months ago and nothings changed.
I was hopeful for this game and potentially excited if they delivered on their promises. They did the opposite, it was just lies. They deserve to be shut down.
Maybe this time these "developers" will understand and learn you can't go around and try to sell nicely wrapped crap. Thanks to Steam for ability to discuss, write reviews and refund games. It is impossible from devs who made crappy games before to pull out such heavyweight genre defining and all that shite... game. It's like I created mobile Solitaire apps for years, while suddenly decided to make Division Tarkov meld game. Everything was clear from the first trailer - too good to be true. Everyone said that and were right.
Let's see how long servers for this game will live... if they gonna make it through whole next year it'll be ok-ish; expected.
And knowing how money are "utilised" in muscoviya, I guess there were say, 10 million figuratively speaking allowed for game, 9 mil devs shared among themselves and for last mil they made the game. This is how budget money are used in that country.

Everyone I've seen play this sees no players until they are forced to go out 1 of 2 extraction points. People just camp the extractions you can take bags out. This was a bait and switch. Never was this game sold as an extraction shooter. Looks like Ray tracing is gone if its recommended to use a 1080ti. How do you announce your game at an event for Ray tracing and then not have it? 😂
The refund after the day before
I never understood the hype behind this game, to me it always looked l8ke another typical barron survival, I thought it was going to be garbage when it first got teased, no idea where genre defining came from but nothing genre defining was ever showed or promised lol. I'm surprised the game is real, but I'm not surprised it's a dumpsterfire. Could of seen that with the trailer footage alone, they was focusing on graphics and realism so much that anything game wise was all but non existent.
So basically the studio 'borrowed' trailer and marketing ideas from numerous other games, and in the end, give us VIGOR with zombies and not free.
