    I used to buy that salmon from Aldi. I never questioned ingredients for meat because it should just be meat right ? With that Aldi salmon it actually has sodium tripolyphosphate.blew my mind when I saw that. Just wanted to give you a heads up just incase you didn’t know. Still love aldi though.

      Do you have any other information on this? What brand? Where did you read this? I bought Fremont specifically because it touts no artificial ingredients, additives, or preservatives. EWG gave it a high rating of 1.6 and the only ding was that it's not certified organic. www.ewg.org/foodscores/products/4099100050738-FremontFishMarketWildCaughtPinkSalmon/
      It's a product of China, which is not optimal, but thankfully I don't eat fish very often outside of what I was doing for this series. If you have more info and could send it over I'd love to look into it. Thanks for the heads up!

      @@apexpackandtribe yeah this isn’t the first time. They also deleted my comment response when you said it could be histamines from a few days ago. Very frustrating as I take the time to write a good amount just for it to be deleted pretty much instantly. I don’t curse or use foul language or make derogatory remarks so it makes no sense. Let me know if you received my email, if you did I will send another email responding to your histamines response. Thanks.

      @@Ghostfabe That is extremely frustrating, and I'm sorry that keeps happening to you. The only comment I got about the histamine issues was the one where you said you figured it out and that it was salt that was causing you too feel bad. I think I responded to that one. Definitely feel free to send me an email about that too, I'd love to hear about it as I've already passed on your experience with salt to a couple other people who had similar issues.

    I live in Spain and I have lived in France and all those things are quite common here, we are no so afraid as Americans to eat liver, lamb brain, chicken gizzards, sardines, mussels etc... Also very popular in Europe is pork blood, cooked like a sausage, is called "morcilla" in Spanish or "boudin" in French. For the liver I prefer lamb liver or beef liver, I am not a big fan of pork

      That's awesome! I wish there wasn't such a stigma around those foods here. I believe the mindset we've adopted here is largely due to the agenda against natural, healthy, and nutritious foods in general because everything that's promoted here is processed for the most part. I've noticed that when traveling. Every other country I've ever been to consumes most parts of the animal and in many cases those "weird" foods are seen as delicacies. We need to get back to that!

      I freaking LOVE cod liver. I found some in Czech that is to die for, and I'm down to my last tin which make me really sad lol. Any time I add that to my diet I eat almost half the amount of food because it's so nutrient dense! Do you have any good brands you recommend?

      I cut them up into chunks and fry them in the cast iron skillet. Sometimes I'll just lightly cook them and consume them nearly raw, while other times I cook them a little longer and get them a little crispy on the outside.

    I just started my carnivore lifestyle today. I will have to get some groceries tomorrow as I didn't really plan much and just consumed a lot of RUclips content about it in the last 24 hours and realized this seems right for me. I ate some left over beef roast, 3 burger patties with a slice of cheese on each and a tablespoon of butter for lunch. I had some boneless pork ribs with salt for dinner. I drank plenty of water today and the only electrolytes I have on hand at the moment were some propel packets. The packets do not look too bad when reading the label, but I am going to try LMNT for sure. I am interested in seeing if some of my pains and skin issues will go away during this transition. I want to see how my motivation to exercise increases and how my body responds to actually having enough protein throughout the day. I have some weight to lose, but that will be a pleasant side effect if my other pains diminish. I have always eaten 2 meals a day so that will be an easy thing for me to upkeep. Thank you for you informational content, I have watched a few of your videos and have learned a lot. I am going to keep track of everything I eat, how I feel and document everything. I will miss my fruit, and I sadly looked at my perfect grapefruit I have been waiting to eat on my table today.. I got this though, I can stick to something if I put my mind to it!

      That's awesome, kudos to you for grabbing this by the horns and dedicating yourself to becoming the best version of yourself! It sounds like you are off to an amazing start and I have no doubt that you are going to do extremely well. You can absolutely do this! Just always remember, nothing has to be permanent. Trying this out for a period of time will likely have profoundly positive impacts on your health and you are sure to learn a ton about yourself along the way. One of the best things about carnivore is that when/if you are ready, you can always reintroduce foods and you'll be able to gauge how your body responds to them very effectively. From there, you can tailor the diet specifically to you as an individual with only the foods that make you feel your best. That is extremely empowering and is something you can carry with you for the rest of your life. Wishing you all the best, and be sure to keep me updated on how you are doing!

    this is going to be interesting to see what your body decides it wants to eat. i'm behind on all the optimizing videos and going to catch up!! one thing about doing something like this, is you need some freezer space and an adventurous palate. wonder what it means if you have an adverse reaction to some of the food you showed us without even seeing it up close or smelling it? just the visual? like raw oysters...just looking at them makes me gag. you would think with all the nutrition in them, my body would not react that way.

    • @apexpackandtribe
      @apexpackandtribe  2 месяца назад +1

      Those are great observations and very interesting questions! I feel like there are many cases where your body is naturally drawn and repelled by foods based on instinctual knowing and understanding what the food has to offer, but there are almost certainly cases where things like texture, aesthetics, taste, and smell can be a huge turn-off. It really makes sense when we think about why the food industry does what they do with foods, allocating billions of dollars into creating the perfect smell, texture, appearance, taste, and even "crunch" of the foods they create in order to entice people to buy. It makes sense that appearance and aesthetics can play a major role on how you react to food when you see it, even if it is very nutrient-dense. Then again, you always have to wonder, could it also partially be that your body has enough of whatever is in that food and it's just a signal telling you that you don't need it? Interesting!

    You definitely have some good sources around you to be able to get things like brain, testes, and kidneys. I have to buy these things online and cannot always find them except from pet food suppliers. Freeze dried organ supplements may be an option.

      I am very fortunate to have so many farms and butcher shops in my area, that's for sure. There is a very strong market for local food in my area, which is also why prices are so low.
      Online, shipments, deliveries, or supplements would all be great options if that's what you have access to and feel like you need to include them. 👍💪

    I feel like this video might give a lot of people the wrong idea when it comes to cheap animal products. It shouldn't be just about the price, in my opninion, but more about the quality of the food. Which has to do with the health and wellbeing of the animal and your health consuming it.

    • @apexpackandtribe
      @apexpackandtribe  2 месяца назад +3

      I completely agree with your points about the quality of the meat, where it is sourced, how the animals were raised, and how those foods impact your health. This grocery haul was for a very specific purpose, and that is to optimize nutrition by upping my intake of vitamins and minerals as much as possible. In this video, I showcased several different options because I realize not everyone has access to farms, but you will notice that most of the food I bought was from local producers in my area. These products are the best you can get, all sourced from local farms in my area, all of which practice regenerative, sustainable, and responsible farming. They are cheap, but don't let that fool you into thinking that it also means they are inferior. I buy local because it's the most nutrient-dense, high quality food money can buy. I didn't buy these foods because they were cheap, I bought them specifically because of the quality and the nutrition they offer. I just happen to live in an area that has a very strong demand for local food, and as a result of that, local producers are thriving. Their prices are a direct reflection of their strong and loyal customer-base. They are able to share their success with the consumer by offering amazing deals on their products. This is why I promote local farms and businesses so much on this channel and built a farm/butcher directory with over 7,200 local producers, because buying local and supporting the people that raise food properly is one of the only ways to beat the market, decrease prices, increase our food sovereignty, and ensure that that we have access to high-quality nutrient-dense food for the foreseeable future. 👍

      @@apexpackandtribe I totally agree with you that the client-farmer connection needs to be supported. I just got that feeling from this video that it's about "how cheap can you go with carnivore" attitude , which is then supporting the terrible animal mass production industry.

    • @apexpackandtribe

      @@albisteffen5085 Understand. Cost is a discussion point in this video but it's not the focus. The focus is the nutrient profile of the food, as the title implies. Buying cheap meat or any food from big industry is the exact opposite of what I promote on this channel and my website, which is why 90% of the food I consume is from the animals I hunt or from local producers. I am not at all for big industry, but also understand and am empathetic to the fact that sometimes buying food from big-retail is necessary.

      that's fine if you have a large pocket book. many people want to eat healthy animal products and cannot afford to get the best of the best. even the worst animal resource is better than sugar and processed junk carbs and most of the other things that pass as food these days. i don't think being conscious of cost as a focus is wrong either. like i said many of us are struggling these days to find affordable animal products. many do not have access to the reasonable prices of your butchers and other resources. so eating this way can be expensive. you've got to find the sales at least in my area (monterey, ca) and then it's doable.
