- LOVE THIS NEW FMS F-16 FIGHTING FALCON. Almost a 100mph and so nimble and agile without the landing gear. I've owned a lot of F-16s over the years and this one is my favorite. She flies like she is on rails.
F-16 is the stock FMS 64mm setup with a 2840 motor and 12 blade EDF. I used a brand new Turnigy 2200mah 4s 60c Heavy Duty battery for the test. I used the GNSS GM020 GPS logger and it clocked at 97mph. Not bad for a stock setup. I get 4 minutes of flight time on the Turnigy 2200mah 4s 60c battery and 5 minutes on the Turnigy 2700mah 4s 65c battery.
I hand launch it in SAFE mode then turn it off after launch but she hand launches just fine without SAFE mode on.
2:55 data logger showing 97mph
Modifications done since I use it as a hand launched belly lander

Nice jet man, if you Change the esc to 6s capable esc at 60amp and run the stock motor on 5s 1600 or 1800mah lipo. You will reach Mach 1, I did this setup on the old e flite 64mm f16 back in 2019 is on my RUclips if you go through my video list and see. I was hitting 130mph as3x was freaking out but it was freakin awesome.
Did you hand launch that yourself while holding the transmitter? cause damn in impressed probably one of the best hand launches ive seen all year on youtube ive got the same jet but havent maidened it yet anything i should watch out for? Thanks
Yup. Transmitter in my right and tossed it with my left. The F-16 is easy to hand launch because you can easy grip the round intake underneath. The F-22 on the other hand is too wide for me to grip so I installed a little thin handle on the bottom of that one. I did install a Spektrum AR630 receiver so that I can hand launch it in SAFE mode but I have forgotten to turn SAFE on a couple times and she launched exactly the same. Give it a 45 to 50 degree up with full throttle and she launches perfectly every time. Of all my planes this is one of the easiest to hand launch.
@@RKIVIDS Glad to hear that cause i bought 2 of them and plan on hand launching them a bunch. i also have the newer v2 fms f-15 eagle 64mm and that one has a wide flat bottom and is a challenge to hold while hand launching but the plane has such amazing thrust and power to weight with a 2200mah 50c battery i basically just let go of it and it pulls away on its own well over 1 to 1 power. You should get one of those cause there only like $154 delivered on FMS web site right now
@@RKIVIDS Do you grab it between where the main gear and ventrel fins go on the fuse?
I grab it wherever it's balanced after inserting the battery.
Have you noticed any difference in flight with the ventral fins off? or on?
@@looneytunes47 no. I didn't notice a difference
@@RKIVIDS They say on the real full scale F-16 its there to help the yaw stability
@@looneytunes47 Yes but I have flown it with the fins on and they ripped out of the plane on the first landing. If you are belly landing don't put the fins on. If not use them.
@@RKIVIDS Noted i kinda figured that too! Thanks man
Where did you like your battery position the most?
I think my CG is set at 82mm back from leading edge and I like it.
@@RKIVIDS Thanks ive set mine around there as well but havnt maidened it yet. i think i will keep the landing gear on for the 1st couple of flights though just to feel out the behavior of the jet...
