It’s funny, no matter how many planes I have set up, I still always watch your set up start to finish, lol. Always learning from you. Good stuff, thank you, Brian!
😊I received mine today with the exact same damage to the wing. The landing gear under the wing is poking through. I have contacted FMS thanks for your video!
Thank you for the detailed setup, it was very helpful and educational. If I may make a suggestion, when you are showing the radio setup it would be very helpful if as you operated the various buttons on the NX10 you would call them out. I had to replay numerous sections of the set-up portion of your video as I tried to guess which buttons you were pushing. Keep up the great videos, they are very helpful.
Thanks for the tip! I can try to do better. Only issue we've had in the past is that we try HARD (I know it doesn't always show) to strike a balance between going REALLY slow to help newer pilots, and just BLASTING through. I can do this setup in maybe 4-6 minutes off camera...all the way through...but we do slow down considerably. The key call out might be something to try and see if I can make it work. Thanks again, and glad you're here with us!
So happy that I was able to order this! Can’t wait to receive it! My first intention was to buy it as a beater to practice so that I don’t mess up my viper. I am completely new to flying, and to jets, and I have only flown my viper five times and luckily, 4 landings were butter! but the 5th one popped a rear landing gear out of place. So got this beater to preserve my viper but the more I see this plane the more I think I’m going to care for it and love it as much as the viper! 😂 I don’t know how to stop buying planes! This is number 30 in the six months that I’ve been flying! 😵💫😵💫😵💫 and now I want a Sopwith Camel! What the …..
One suggestion: BD Tennessee shows how setting up your own category for your callouts can keep you from scrolling through 200 voice commands and quickly get to the ones that you use. It doesn't erase anything it just create a new folder.
Just got through watching your flight video for this 64, & was SO looking forward to this one. I needed this content & your links, because this Futura is the current frontrunner in my next Jet purchase. Many thanks!
Once again, thank you so much for the radio set up. Very beneficial even if I don't have that particular plane. I do have that particular receiver or (transceiver). 😊
Hi Brian, thank you so much for the detailed setup video. It really helped me a lot while setting up my plane! I love your videos and watch almost all of your videos frequently. Thank you for making getting into RC hobby so much fun. :) Additionally, Is there any way you could share your transmitter and receiver profiles? Can I use bank angle limits for beginner mode from a Habu STS 70mm?
Like it. But... I'm saving up for the Beechcraft D18. Maybe next Christmas I'll be into the EDF's. And this little bad boy looks like a good first for the EDF section of my meager-but-eager hangar 👍 PS-Nice nails, Camera Crew!!
This planes manual shows how to change values in the ESC. Have you ever tried changing the motor timing in the ESC to get more speed as it shows in the planes manual?
Hey Bri, I just got my 64mm Futura in the mail and mine had 2 holes in the wing from the battery compartment latch as well. I wonder if they have been made aware of this aside from your video. I wish I could get them to send me a replacement wing since it was a packaging dept error and I wonder how many others received theirs this way. Many would say "oh who cares its an under $200 rc PNP" but to many these days thats still not pennies. Plus, no matter how much you pay for a plane it should never arrive damaged. So I wanted to see if you happen to have a direct email for someone within FMS manufacturing to send pics too of what they sent out. If more and more of us say something then maybe the next guys wont have to buy a brand new rc model that COMES with damage from the factory. 😕 Again, yes I know its a less expensive model, but no matter the model you should never receive a brand new model that is damaged before you even get to fly it. Esthetics or not. Let me know if they reached out to you about it and if they care to do anything for what I am assuming will be a ton of rc hobbyists buying a 64mm Futura that is damaged already.
Brian I bought one of these as well as the 80mm. On the 64mm I went ahead and also bought a Reflex to put in it but wonder if I will need it ? I will be using a AR630 for a receiver and a NX10 transmitter so would I gain anything by using a reflex ?
Reflex would only be needed if you wanted to use an AR620, since the AR630 HAS AS3X and SAFE... You can keep her for another plane, if you wish...they CAN be reprogrammed, fyi.
@@BrianPhillipsRC Brian thank you for your fast response. Looks like I’ll be saving for another plane. Love your RUclips vids I learn a lot and be sure to thank your camera crew 😁😁👍❤️
60'X80'X20' at the end of the dam, it'll act as the dam gift shop ;) As for timing, we gotta get the pond done, or at least started, and some of the "refuse" dirt/clay will be used to start that pad, OR it will go straight up to the FULL SCALE STRIP...which is kinda the "next" large capital project. Roads, and approaches in front of such buildings will be critical, so that'll also be on the agenda, and will significantly increase the cost component of the dam gift shop, but it will be much easier to maintain, and look nicer, AND be another runway. The Heli Pad will happen at the same time, as well as extending the runway to meet it. It's gonna be epic, but also crazy expensive, and hope the RUclips channel can start picking up the pace, in terms of growth, so we can get this stuff "in budget" - LOL LOL LOL ;)
About to pull the trigger on this one. Do you think if ESC is upgraded to 60A, it can handle 5S? I fly mostly scale (55% throttle) but like to do 1 or 2 passes at full throttle. Will 5S be a problem in those short passes?
OMG.... what an absolute beauty!! Who cares that there are dings in the wing... a nice notch in the rudder that doesn't even bother to conceal the rudder servo lead. Or that it has fixed gear or only 3 minutes flying time. Awesome specs, hey?? 🤣🤣 Mate, you better grab one before they're all gone!! God only knows that we can go without that $300 Australian dollars we were going to spend on food because this aeroplane is definitely much more important than food! Just be careful you don't blow on it because it's even more fragile than the foam box it came in!!
We've tried for years, and even worked with Wes to try to see if we could get something to work, but their "management" just don't need anything from us...ask and they'll let you know ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC that’s bit weird..!! I do always follow you Brian you both so good.. lil pinpoint info I get from you.. I don’t know why motionrc.. is bit arsy to you ..
Last week, after a long wait, I bought 2 of these from Turbines-RC, one for my son and one for myself as we like to fly in formation. Unfortunately both models suffered from ESC malfunction. After less than 2 minutes of flying the ESC goes into emergency mode, leaving just the servos working for an emergency landing. The cause is that the ESC is 40Amp while the motor draws 48Amp. We are very very disappointed considering the fact that for a 64mm EDF is very expensive, being more than Eur 80 dearer than the Motion RC Banshee. This also leaves me thinking that FMS does not test their electronics. Sadly I DO NOT recommend this model.

Any reason why one couldn’t put a Reflex v2 in this plane. I run Futaba gear and do not have an option of having a receiver with stabilization in it ?

"More speed" from timing??? Yeahhhh, not sure I buy it. Ever hear an ESC "FART" - that's what you'll get.
