      @@TwoBrosRCI'm torn between this and the rafale 64mm, this will be my 2nd jet after the 50mm habu. I just got into the hobby but I push my planes really hard. I really like the way the rafale high alphas, and looks much better imo. I like the flaps and handling on the futura so I'm torn. Any input?

    Normally made up looking planes like this aren't my thing. I got it just for fun n games, but man, what a blast this thing is to fly!! I too fly it with the battery the back strap. And I got my buddy whose never flow edfs to fly this one and he loved it so much he bought himself one! What an awesome little plane!

    It´s indeed a great jet. I mainly fly her on 4S 2200 35C with 180g. Since I don´t fly hard, I´m flying always around 3:30 - 3:45 and having 3,7-3,75 V/cell and she flies great too. On 5S 2200 CNHL she flies around 3:00 with excessive thrust, but pretty more amps so the capacity is pretty sucked out :P ending around 3,65V. After around 10 flights I had my first edf stall and repaired her. She doesnt looks great but flies as before :) . The other day I had a stall on landing approach beeing almost able to recover her a couple of times but the colleagues told me just to land on the bushes. And she just lost a small already glued piece on the air intake foam. I tested her on the ground, took off and did my landing properly. That was the only way to go home satisfied :D xD

    Great video 2Bros! I absolutely love this 64mm, best of its class! Plenty of power and does everything I want! It is a daily flyer for sure!!
    I have 26 flights so far on this Jet and only have a few wing scrapes that was easily covered up and protected with electrical tape(thanks for the tip).
    I am a little worries when spare parts will be available, knowing that ever one of these has a ticket with the ground and will need a replacement at some point, Please FMS stock spare parts for this jet that you will have in your lineup for the next 10 years+!

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  Год назад +1

      It's so weird that they have spare parts for literally everything *but* the fuselage and wings. At this point it's almost comical. We're hoping they get this fixed soon for everyone's sake.

    Nice review of what looks like the next plane in my Hanger. Thanks for the tips on CG also . I have just purchased the 64 MM Rafale and after 20 + flights on it I am really loving it and looking for a Sport Jet to compliment it in the 64 MM 4 S range. This one looks like a Winner and should fly well with the 2600 MAH 4 S batteries I have been buying lately.
    Thanks again

    Nice review Jon, really looks like a great 64mm. Mishaps can happen when you fly on the edge. Bummer about the spares, I guess it's happening a little bit of everywhere. I know that Arrows Marlin is ugly (with the current decals) but would love to see a comparison video.

      I would like to see that video myself, always wanted to get the Marlin, never did, but now there's this Futura. I'd have to bet the Marlin can be flown a little slower (if desired).

    My 64mm Banshee is very similar. I like to see a comparison between the 2. Mine is equipped with suspension landing gear and I increase the wheel diameter for flying off grass. And I have reverse thrust too. Might pick one of these up sometime and see who’s the real king of The 64mm EDFs.

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  Год назад

      It's pretty unlikely that we'll ever pick up a Banshee unless Motion sends one to us. It's just not our style of jet.

    • @Bill14886
      @Bill14886 Год назад

      Both Jets are very Similar except It looks like the Avanta 64mm drops a wing a little quicker then the Banshee . But C.G and airspeed play a big part in that as you obviously know. I'll grab one next Spring , flying season is slowing 🐌 down on the East Coast. Time to pull out the Bush planes soon.

    I’m asking for the pros opinion on this one. Would you guys recommend this jet as a first plane for someone looking to get into the rc community based off of assembly performance and longevity as well as complexity

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  Год назад +1

      It's definitely not a first jet. The wing loading is way too high. As you saw with Ciaran's crash and Jon's crash, getting into a stall can be very difficult to recover from even on batteries weighing close to the recommended size. This is more of a jet you'd fly when you've gotten some experience with RC jets in general.

    About to pull the trigger on this one. Do you think if ESC is upgraded to 60A, it can handle 5S? I fly mostly scale (55% throttle) but like to do 1 or 2 passes at full throttle. Will 5S be a problem in those short passes?

    • @TwoBrosRC

      No idea if the ESC can handle the additional voltage. You'd have to look up the component and decide.

      Probably not, but you'll need to be able to handle accelerated stalls and low speed stalls since they'll be more frequent as wing loading increases.

    Last week, after a long wait, I bought 2 of these from Turbines-RC, one for my son and one for myself as we like to fly in formation. Unfortunately both models suffered from ESC malfunction. After less than 2 minutes of flying the ESC goes into emergency mode, leaving just the servos working for an emergency landing. The cause is that the ESC is 40Amp while the motor draws 48Amp. We are very very disappointed considering the fact that for a 64mm EDF is very expensive, being more than Eur 80 dearer than the Motion RC Banshee. This also leaves me thinking that FMS does not test their electronics. Sadly I DO NOT recommend this model.
