I've picked one of these up, last night. Would you recommend the silicone baskets as an extra? It's a shame they don't have specific AF500 accessories yet, but I'm sure that's coming.
Yeah I think they’re quite handy although a lot of people prefer the paper liners especially if you don’t have a dishwasher as the silicone baskets can be fiddly to wash and get clean. Also bear in mind they don’t allow for full circulation of air since the bottom gets closed off. Enjoy your new machine! Really happy with it so far.
I think the answer to the air circulation could be a metal rack to sit in the silicone tray. I've not used it yet, but I'm looking to giving it a bash. Thanks!
From the official Ninja website; The drawer is made with a PTFE coating and the crisper plates are non-stick aluminium with a nano ceramic coating. The unit's exterior is BPA free. Hope this helps!
Can you put something with sauce on one side without leaking to the other side? And I think 2 smaller baskets are easier to handle then one big one. Or am I wrong?
I would’ve thought the smaller baskets are easier to handle than the larger one although there’s a huge advantage to having a larger space. Also I personally can’t say I’m struggling to handle this drawer it’s light and easy enough to open and close but I don’t have experience with the smaller drawers if I’m honest. As for the sauce that’s a good question! I would say a thick sauce would be fine but if it’s something quite thin it’s possible that may shift across but something to test out I think. Hope that helps.
Hi, what about cleaning the inside top? Or heating element? Is it removable or easy to clean? That's the problem with air fryers. Ince it gets dirty, its disgusting and impossible to clean the top heating element.
I think it's a pretty standard set up with the fans behind the elements and the elements are exposed so not closed behind any grill or anything like that. You'll be able to wipe around the elements fine should you so desire. My advice would be to wipe and clean the area regularly to keep on top of any build up. Only items that can be removed and are dishwasher safe are the crisper plates and drawer. Hope that helps!
Hi, is the handle stainless steel or just coated? I have read the whole drawer is dishwasher safe but in orevious models the handles were only coated and drawers have to ve hand washed
Hi, drawer, divider and crisper plates are dishwasher safe as mentioned in the manual. I have a feeling the handle is coated but I honestly can’t tell 100%
Im really piddled off. Spent nigh on £300 , no accessories available, no recipe books with pictures, they presume you've already cooked with an air fryer. Spent hours trawling through Amazon trying to find accessories, nothing fits. Bloody con job.

Surely a bit cumbersome having one massive drawer to empty. The dual zones are easier to handle

What is coating on the basket? Is it teflon or ceramic coating?
Some sort of non-stick don’t think it’s Teflon.

According to the box the drawer measures 37.9x21.3x13.6cm (WxDxH) - hope that helps.
