This may be one of the best railroad videos ever filmed. The photography, the knowledge of the area, the knowledge of the trains, the editing, the audio and even the filming of the weather are all phenomenal. This truly is a work of art. Every bit as much of a work of art as a fine painting or a beautiful rendition by a symphony. Remarkable. An accurate judging of how good an internet video truly is may be learned from reading the comments. The comments for this video have as much class and appreciation as any that one can find on the internet. Thank you.
Took a couple of road trips on Route 66 to L.A. (from Vegas and Needles CA) in the past. No matter what, you will encounter some of these trains for sure. It's always a treat to see and hear them. No Route 66 road trip will be complete without them. 🙂
that was a great video, thank you for taking the time to get a beautiful country as Ours,California has got some beautiful country on the high deserts, thank you again for a beautiful trip on the 66-40 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Totally agree with the comments below. Great work, esp the aerial shots. I think i counted 10!! units at the front of one of the trains! You spared us the 'boredom' of endless cars, but it would be interesting to know if these railroads use mid-section and tail DPU's, as Canadian trains typically do. Cheers, best wishes!!
Why are some of the locomotives ass backwards, are the other locomotives in the train setup in reverse gear for extra uphill and up the mountain power boost?
Thanks for the great video. Have been lucky to visit this area numerous times when visiting from Downunder. Many great spots to watch trains. Too many to name. I think Goffs is my favourite with trains cresting grades from both directions. Homer is also a nice place to rest from the driving and watch trains climb up to Goffs. Thanks again. Richard, Melbourne Australia.
I started driving truck after I got out of the Navy in 76,my sister married a brother to the owner of the company at that time, went with my brother in law,&thats when I got the”freight-liner fever”stayed like that for 30yrs,went from Georgia-California,on I-40,I came this way on l-40 the till it ended, alway run parallel to train tracks, beautiful country,a lot of memories on the i40🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸

I never knew that Route 66 ran with the Santa Fe line, that's super cool
You do excellent work. I’m retired BNSF. This was my run. San Bernardino-Needles…Los Angeles-Needles.
Thank you very much! What a nice route to have served!
Как попасть на эту работу? How to get this job?

Why are some of the locomotives ass backwards, are the other locomotives in the train setup in reverse gear for extra uphill and up the mountain power boost?
Yes I think they are for boosting trains over mountain ranges
I heart Route 66 cuz it goes through Springs.
Looks like a jam packed 3 days. Great shots. Especially liked the drone shot retreating over the rocks. Happy New Year. -grant

Glad you enjoyed it. I sure enjoyed that remote area of route 66 myself!
Would love to have seen more of the 10-loco one at 8:10!
Thanks for the feedback! I think I will start uploading films of entire trains as well. THere are some pretty long ones in this area.
