Quality videos of trains all over Canada and the US.
I mostly got hooked on filming trains after reading lots of history about the Railway workers. So much of our countries were built by these folks, the work was so hard, so dangerous and they did it all no matter the weather or how demanding the terrain.

CPKC 2816 Steam Train In Saskatchewan

On Sat April 27th the steam train ran from Medicine Hat Alberta to Moose Jaw Saskatchewan. Here are a handful of clips I got along the way. The steam train was the main attraction, but the smiles and pure joy it brought ended up being the most satisfying part of the day. Is BC the best place for filming trains? Shot over 6 months in 2023 from Cisco to Crowsnest. This only covers about 1/4 of the province, I will have to visit other areas next year. so far, BC has been the best place to film trains.

I am absolutely OBSESSED with trains, and the art that rolls on them. My dream when I’m older is to get a super high quality camera and go around British Columbia photographing trains at such scenic locations like this. Awesome video man!
Excellent, excellent, excellent,,,,,,, I am fairly new to video viewing although I enjoy observing railroad operations. As a suggestion, might you consider adding the direction of travel when showing the location? ie Ashcroft westbound or Ashcroft eastbound , thanks! Very much enjoy the scenes of BC. Many hours of filming are required for a video like this, so thank you!!
@@bjjasper You can sometimes figure out the direction of travel by the flow direction of the river in the video!

Thank you for this fresh new look at trains in BC. There are many RR videos out there of these areas but none come close to your video quality. A wonderful selection of locations and some unique views of some locations I am sure have not been filmed before.

How often do they run a day?
The Shaunavon, Eastend, Frontier train is about 1 time a month. Sometimes Shaunavon 2-3 times a month. And almost always on Tues Wednesday.
Less cars, more power. ( good vids otherwise, love the drone shots.)

Imagine if CPKC expanded their steam program and Reacquired CP 4-6-2 2317 from steam town. And i was thinking since 2816 is known as the Empress, 2317 would be known as “The Grand Duchess”

Hopefully they will send her east for some tours. We haven’t had live mainline steam in the St. Lawrence & Ottawa River valleys in many decades. Love to see her speeding along the Winchester sub.

I have the old Triang version of that steam engine Ive had it for 53 years it was produced in black but I’m pretty sure it’s that one As I live in Australia I have always wondered what the loco is modelled after looks fantastic
