in 8th grade took metal working class in Jr. High. was to make a simple bowl. for the life of me I could never get it smooth without the hammer strikes. Great job there
Hi from Russia!!! Your work is amazing! How long time did you spend on this face??? By the way, did you try Brass or something more elastic, flexible than steel????
Merci pour ce cours sur fer... Quels beaux outils ! C'est quoi cette résine ? Pour des visages sur plaque de cuivre, je chauffe du plomb étain , mais oui , serai curieux de connaître la nature de votre résine.... Merci beaucoup
Just came across your channel. Great work and content. Honest suggestions in my opinion would be to cut up the video into parts as the work is great and I think it would build anticipation to see final product. I would also flip your camera to landscape mode as well. Just suggestions and wish you great success in the growth of your channel and your work.
Absolutely stunning metal art work and repousee!! Nice job!! What is the grey material you used to be formed into the back of art for support?? A type of machinists wax? I'm not familiar with the total process with steel. . Many years ago my mother did this using copper and she backed her work with a type of fairly rigid clay. I did some of this type of art in school in both Copper and Aluminum. We used clay too. Keeping the metal annealed properly was the key to success! Ohterwise metal failure and fatigue was a problem. A lot of fun, requiring a lot of patience!!
Hey bud, I love your channel and videos, very good content, very informative , so thank YOU! also I'm kinda wondering, what are you using to curl your moustache and keep it so well? been considering curling mine for a while now lol
Much of sheet metal work (even in thicker metals 2mm-3mm) can be worked cold to great effect. The steel when prepared well in previous hot forming steps should be annealed. Thus providing the best working ground for more accurate and detail oriented punch work. Working sheet metal cold can offer me more control for the various shaping methods I use especially when talking about planishing or chasing passes with the metal supported by pitch.
No annoying jumpcuts, no music droning over everything, just heat, beat, and more work! I love it!
Just unbelievable how the flat piece of metal turned into a masterpiece before your eyes.

What does hammering it while it has cooled accomplish?
