    17,000 lbs!? You should really check your numbers. Ford says 9,300 lbs. It actually has less TQ and Hp than the 3.5 GTDI. I don’t know where you got these numbers but it wasn’t from Ford.

    Ummmm ever hear of a DPF and SCR (DEF) system? Diesels don't have any black smoke any longer. (unless you delete them) wipe your finger in the exhaust pipe and will be clean. This has also added a lot of cost and complexity to modern vehicles. The emissions systems also often the cause of any porblems.

      Unfortunately those figures are false. 2020 3.0 only rated for 11,500, still less than the 3.5 ecoboost. Those numbers aren't from any ford diesel I looked for. However those specs come from a 3/4 ton full size pickup. Not accurate at all.

    Everything I have read about the F150 diesel engine lists the towing capacity at 11,400 pounds. You suggested a 17,000 pound towing capacity. Are you adding in the cargo capacity or am I missing something?

    • @TheNovakReport
      @TheNovakReport  5 лет назад +4

      Thanks for the comment, and my apologies. I inadvertently grabbed the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) from the spec sheet when writing my narration script. The GVWR on the F150 3.3L Diesel is 17,000 lbs, but the maximum towing capacity is about 12,000 lbs. I appreciate you bringing the error to my attention.

    I'm a Ford guy, but the new Duramax has more horses, torque and better fuel mileage. Ford needs to do a little tuning.

    • @slpeteyAZ
      @slpeteyAZ 5 лет назад +6

      Spenser Hawk the new Duramax also has an oil pump belt on the backside of the engine that has to be replaced at 150k miles, which requires removing the transmission. I like the specs and the idea of a balanced inline 6, but that belt might be a deal breaker for me.

    you failed to mention that the 3.5EcoBoost has way more torque.... drives way better... then there's the tuning options... tuning betters fuel economy and gets you over 500ft-lbs of torque...you can get a tune from 5star with powertrain warranty for $1800... way less than the diesel option

    • @Giggidygiggidy12
      @Giggidygiggidy12 4 года назад +2

      Pussaty there's no way you are getting more mpgs and diesel torque out of the EcoBoost; those engines are junk compared to a diesel, especially when you factor reliability over long term

      @@SantanKGhey1234 you don't buy a diesel for horsepower you buy a diesel for low end torque AND fuel economy, you don't get good fuel economy if you actually try to get the power out of a gasoline engine turboed or not.
