seriously, all of the younger drivers who wo a gp since like i started watching (2018) i have never ever seen so much respect and hype around a win. I know he waited so long for that i was watching in russia. It truly shows how respected and liked he is in the paddock.
Lando, Alex, George are 2018 F2 generation top 3 who debuted in F1 in 2019. The more their team seemingly had a chance to win, they don't seem to deliver. Max winning races and Albon as teammates couldn't made it. George debuted with Mercedes flawlessly until disaster pit stop. Norris had several chance with McLaren but it is Ricciardo who got McLaren first win after years. But when the car underperforming since 2022, George deliver the only Mercedes win in the last 3 season. Max and Red Bull domination over 3 season seems to be impossible for McLaren but Norris slay the win. Waiting for Albon in Mercedes or back with Red Bull.
he didnt even needed to fight with max for his win. only reason lando won is because max had serious issues with his car XD. he wouldnt have had a chance if max has a perfectly working car. if lando managed to win against max while max has a perfectly working car, then i will respect it.

One fun coincidence i noticed, the people who congratulated him are all race winners. And also great to see Lewis and Fernando congratulate McLaren as well, proof that they don't really burn bridges as much as people think.
Wasn't this the guy who told his race engineer to "Shut up" which caused him to drive in rain conditions with dry tyres, the guy who broke Max's porcelain trophy doing his champagne trick and kept celebrating like nothing happened, the guy who told 4-time WDC Sebastian Vettel that he should "Focus on driving" because he knew F1 trivia?

Yeah he got a bit lucky with the SC, but he was robbed in Sochi, and he was genuinely by far the fastest guy in this race. The Red Bulls really looked uncomfortable. I knew that the race was on when Max wasn't even pulling away during the first stint.
I love this , they would push each other off in a heartbeat on track but they all know what each other has gone through just to get to F1 . Max was so proud of him before the post race interview just how a mate would be .❤

When you look at the Championships, it’s huge amount of drivers who have won the GP or many GP’s but never Championship. Like Ferrari, it’s grazy, it’s now almost 17 yrs they haven’t won the Championship, and the last Italian driver to win Championship in Ferrari is Alberto Ascari in 1953…..
Somehow Netflix/DTS will cut the congratulations in a way where they can have Buxton say some made up shit into the camera and make it look like everybody hates Lando, just like they did with Sainz and Lando when they were teammates.
We've always knew how fast Norris is. He deserves to be in the same conversation as Leclerc. Sochi was mostly his mistake, he knows it, we know it. But the patience and humility were there for Norris. Today, he and McLaren reap their well deserved rewards.
It wasn't mostly his mistake, in the car he couldn't see the whole picture. It's the team who has weather radar. In the part of the track where he was it was just a drizzle and his engineer told him it will stay that way. On the other part of the track soon was pouring.Then he was asked if he wanted inters. Team should have ordered him to pit ( although I'm not sure he would have obeyed).

I can tell you what, Mclaren are going to be VERY visible up front for the next few races. This was the culmination of years of work together, team having faith in driver in seeing his potential and offering a long contract to both himself and Piastri. Those two are an interesting pairing as they challenge and push each other. Last year Oscar won a sprint, this year Lando wins a main. Now Oscar is looking to take a main and Lando will then have to push for championship. It's kinda easy to see how easy it was for Mclaren to show Oscar what being wanted looked like and poach him from Alpine. It was an epic win and broke alot of mental blocks Lando had with trusting the car and believing in his own speed. He has broken through, let's see what he has to show us for the rest of the year 😎
Firstly if any current F1 driver on the grid, thoroughly deserves a bit of good racing luck, to win their maiden gp, it would be little Lando! But I can't remember seeing any F1 race (I've watched quite a few) where a driver running in 6th by lap 20, went on to win the race, without passing a single driver on track, from the very start of the race. That is some kind of unbelievable motor racing luck. I hope Lando licks that lucky pole again soon, and sends it!!!!!

The closest we came to anything illegal was the 2008 McLaren due to Spygate and if the FIA had found any Ferrari inspired stuff in that car they would've banned McLaren until the heat death of the universe
