I was born in the US and grew up with Guyanese food. After my parents passed, I thought I would never be able to have my favorite meals regularly again since my extended family lives so far away. But your videos have helped me recreate all of my mom's specialties.. If it wasn't for these videos, I would be stuck with American food all the time haha. Thank you so much and keep the videos coming!
We are very happy to help out in such a way, thank you very much for posting here. It means a lot to us. Thank you, we are honoured that we are able to replicate your Mom's cooking.
Frying pan with oil and a lid fixed the problem of getting burned by the hot oil .just put the eggs in and move the frying pan around with the lid on. Comes out perfect every time. I like your videos !!
I'm hoping to make this sometime soon. But I don't know if any place around me sells Garam Masala. Also, what is Geera? It is in the ingredients description next to cumin. Absolutely love curry!
+Douglas Schutz Jr Douglas , geera is the Indian name for Cumin so they are the same exact thing. The garam massala you can find in West Indian stores or some Chinese supermarkets. If that fails then there's always Amazon.
Real Nice Guyana Thank you! Just picked up everything to make egg curry and some chicken curry too! I found garam massala at the supermarket today. Making some curry tonight 😊😀
+Douglas Schutz Jr Hey, happy you were able to get the Garam massala, it's not available in some areas, have a wonderful night, I already know you will be having good food😃😃
Real Nice Guyana just made this for lunch today! It was a big success, next time I'll boil my eggs a bit more (they were a little under, I got the time wrong) 😀 also modified this recipe Saturday and replaced the eggs with chicken, still so good. Thank you so much!
I was born in Guyana and it's been so long since I have eaten the food after coming to a new country has not been that easy to find the same of ingredients but watching those videos has made me come to alive and now I can look at these videos and go find my own cooking and learn how to make it just like how I remembered in Guyana so thank you to you guys for helping me with that 🎉🎉
Shazeeda I cannot tell you exactly how much salt wil be enough, It is always 'salt to taste' which is what I should have been saying in those earlier recipes. If you are learning however, you can start with half of the amount we used and then add if needed later. As you know you have to be careful with the salt since you can't take away.
Got hungry and cooked egg curry last night. I do not fry the egg...too lazy, but i do add a little left over uncooked vegetables (whatever is in the fridge - broccoli, okra, bora, etc.), and when the potatoes is almost done i cut the boiled eggs in half and add to the pot to let the curry soak into the egg. Just my way.
I guess that the layer it creates allows it to hold some gravy and also it tastes better fried, as opposed to have the slippery boiled egg in the curry. This is the way we were taught to make it and have always been making it with the egg fried.
Deliciousoooo😋😋😋..this recipe is prepared in the same way here. We call this "kerrie ei" which means "curried egg." Now,, can you both adopt me pleezzz☺☺..hihi thank you for uploading🤗
So now I can figure out how my mother got her eggs like this for her egg curry, just a simple frying process. Dang! I have been using just boiled eggs forever now...DUH! LOL...

You're most welcome.
Hi, loving this recipe, since I don't have a crusher for the garlic, I can simply chop instead? Did you put extra water in the garlic?
Thanks, of course you can chop as fine as possible. Can't remember but water is not needed in the garlic.
Hi thank you, oh I mean what is that liquid you added to make into a paste at 1:51. Right after when you added the crushed garlic.
That's just water, we always add some to the mortar to rinse out the paste which is stuck to it and add that same water to make the paste.
Amazing Recipe
Thanks.
Ooh...i cook this today and it is tasty. I love it.
🙂Thanks for posting Farida, very much appreciated.

I usually make this in the same way as Molly did. Good job!
Thanks!
Nice video! Why do we need to fry the eggs?
Thanks, the frying creates a layer which soaks and hold some of the gravy, tastes better.
Real Nice Guyana makes a lot of sense. Been wondering all these years! Thanks again!
God I love this channel!!!! Saved me today!!
Thanks 💔💔💔
Great recipe. Can you tell me; what is the device used underneath your cooking pot called? What is it for? It's an electric cooker, no?
🙂Hi David, the device is called a " Wok Ring" and is just used to keep the Carahi, ( round bottom) stable, since the stove has a flat smooth surface.
Where did you buy your blue cooking utensils?
Those were purchased at Winners .
If I wanna cook 2 eggs only how much salt I should use I'm learning now

Sounds delish, hey we have to try new things somtimes.
