Jessica Tuck wow...what an amazing performance. This whole scene was equivalent if not better then dying scenes on the big screen. Wow Megan’s death could never be replicated like this...just brilliance and Heart breaking...standing ovations all around, for real...
Yep. It’s 2024 and I still cry when I see this. I actually named my daughter Megan back in 1989……. She died in 2017 - she was 27…..just a few months shy of her 28th birthday. 😢😢😢
so many years have past but, this scene has for ever been burned in my memory,I cried oh so hard, I had not to look past that I lost my mother , and never got to say goodbye so for me this scene was every thing to me Jake got to say goodbye to his love.,R.I.P Mattie I love you (mommy) !!!!!!
This was so gut wrenching each scene makes me cry more but this one really affected me as a kid. God , megan was so brave. Jake lifting her to see their wedding tree had grown!
Only one death scene killed me more than this one, (though this was REALLY killer) and that was when Dominique died on General Hospital To be honest the scenes are quite similar...the room to the lawn of the hospital in both The music in the GH one was a tearjerker as well, and Scotty, usually the funny guy...so so sad and heartbroken and even Lucy sobbing added to it. But I'm off track here...haha...both were so beautiful...and this scene with Megan and Jake had me sobbing
I agree. Dominique's death was really sad, too. It really affected me. Though I will admit I liked Dominique a lot more than Megan. I remember Scotty had taken Dominique out of her room and into the snow because it was snowing. She loved it. She passed away a few minutes later as Scotty was holding her.
Megan's death at the window is reminiscent of Sarah Karr's death in husband Mike's arms in the early 1960s. She died in his arms at the window and legend says dinner was late that night across the country. Viewers were devastated then. Now this... this devastated me.
I never understood why they let Megan die from Lupus. I remember her being pretty reckless with her health, but it would have been a better story if Vicki gave her a kidney and she lived.
Megan is related to viki whose sister died from a rare blood disease so it would make sense to have that same storyline illness written out in a later generation
If anyone can provide me with the music that is playing while Jake is holding Megan that would be great. I've tried searching online. I am assuming it's music score written especially for One Life to Live.
@@BacknMetro When I first listened to it I found it to be the piano score only. Since it didn't sound like the one I heard from the episode I was able to find the piano and orchestra version. I find that many songs created solely for soap opera love themes are not available for purchase but found the piano and orchestra version available for purchase. Here is the link I found. Watch "Suzanne Ciani - Megan's Dream (from Dream Suite)" on RUclips ruclips.net/video/irllwTBVxBg/видео.html Although the piano score is nice the full orchestra version brings it to life.
Oh, thx so much for providing the link to this version. This is much better and the one I remember when watching this episode. The feelings remain the same although it's been years ago. That's the power of music & memories.
Tears 😭 Megan's death burns in my heart as if it really was, so ❤ braking. Does anyone knows the beautiful music that was used for Jake and Megan love scenes? It was so beautiful and romantic too.
In an interview she said they wanted to leave, the job was too hard, years of acting long hours on an underground studio tired them both. At least he got to work outside later as sully. I like him more as Jake, well Jake with sully's hair would have been great 😅
I was 20 years old when Megan died, and I have never cried so hard in my life !!!
I STILL cry when I watch this! It really was such a sad scene

Wow...22 years later I am in tears again.....
35 years later…..Same! 🥲🥲
Omgggg it’s 2024 and I’m sobbing just like I did back in 1989 when I watched this.

Omg 9 yrs later I'm seeing this comment. So beautiful.
RIP Mattie 💕
It was the saddest day n day x history...right up there w/Todd's Execution
@@elizabethannfarrow1971 I never saw that! Stopped watching before it happened

This killed me back then. My family too...how I miss Llanview...💟 I gave this poem to my love, J.R.💟
Ah, man. I remember this. Still hurts.
I still cry all these years later
So sad. After Megan's death, Jake went out west, joined up with the Indians and met some woman doctor....😏😏
One of the saddest deaths ever...and the Emmy award on the nightstand. I remember this well.
He's such a handsome guy❤️❤️
You said you would never leave me... Oh Jake...😢😥😢

I agree
I'm guessing she probably wanted to do other roles...

Jessica Tuck originally wanted Megan to die from AIDS or cancer. Michael Malone chose Lupus instead.

You're welcome. I love that score as well and was thankful when someone provided me the link which I now passed on to you!

Gymnopédies by Erik Satie. My absolute favorite piece of classic music. So beautifully haunting and yes, I agree- Megan’s death was heart wrenching😢.
Was Joe Lando doing Dr Quinn when these scenes were done?
No. This was early '92. Dr. Quinn premiered in '93.
I named my daughter after OLTL’s Megan…..
I hated how they took off J and M why didn't they go to the sunset!!!
i feel the same way
@@allysonwatson8793 Me,too.
