I'm trying to keep the length of these tutorial video's down in comparison to my first batch of vids. This one clocks in at just over 20 minutes where my previous one was close to 40 mins. However, these timecodes will still help to navigate the video: 1:40: Intro 3:30: Verse 1 10:12: Verse 2 12:05: Bridge 18:35: Verse 3 Have fun!
I would say don't worry about the length! I actually ended up finding this a little too fast, and I end up wasting a bunch of time rewinding rather than have you go slower. Just thought I would mention!
Man, really don't worry about length. This is nothing in comparison to the time we'll all spend practicing so don't worry and try to shorten things (if that means additional effort for you). Keep going and thanks so much for making tutorials so this beautiful music can enrich our lives!
I agree, I actually like the multiple explanations because it gives me time to digest what you are saying and showing while I wrap my mind and fingers around it. Either way I replay each part a ton. Thank you Tim.
Thank you for all the excellent tutorials . . . Yes going a little faster is fine with me . . . Also it would be helpful if you would play the song in its entirety at the beginning of the lesson . . . that allows us to hear how it al flows together . . . thank you
Hi John! Thanks for the input! I used to do a full cover in the beginning of each tutorial, but the RUclips copyright system immediately flags the video. So I had to stop doing that. On my (soon to be launched) new website all cover and lesson videos will be grouped so you can easily check before you start learning something!
@@TimVanRoy I understand . . . thanks for getting back to me . . . I'll be looking forward to your new website . . . Your tutorials are among the best with accurate tabs and insightful explanation . . . have you ever considered doing a tutorial on Pink Floyd's Shine on you crazy diamond? There's an excellent arrangement on you tube by somebody named Guido but there's no lesson, just a performance . . . it's pretty awesome but doesn't look easy . . . I hope it's not too much to take on . . . thank you . . .
I sure wanna thank you for these tutorials....I have had my left forefinger cut off at my knuckle, but I can still play a bit and think that I will be able to play this...I've been able to Travis pic and write some songs by using chords and a constant pattern...just gotta try...lol...but wanted to thank you for the obvious time and effort you've invested....
As a re- beginner, after 40 years too busy to play, I need all the help I can get! Loved your Wicked Game video and I refer to it often! Keep doing in depth videos, too! ❤️ Kat
Thanks for the nice comment! No worries about the channel: I only recently started uploading on a regular basis (and doing tutorials), and the subs have almost doubled in that time. I'm guessing if I keep going more people will find out eventually ;-)
I was checking out this song and clicked on your video. The way you sound reminded me so much of TE. And then I saw a bunch of his stuff covered on your channel. Makes sense. :D Quality.
Hi Gary! Thanks for your comment, nice to hear the work is being appreciated. I"m tyring to sort out a Patreon page with downloads of the different tabs, and it will probably go online as soon as it has a decent amount of content on it (I'm thinking about 20+ tabs/songs). I'm hoping to get quite some work done in March!
Hé Tim. Wat een verzorgde video’s maak je! Met een vriendelijke touch maak je Tommie’s stukken behapbaar en klein. Goed ook hoe je jezelf steeds meer verbetert (‘I often repeat myself😉). Keep on doing this!
Bedankt!
Tim u know what, i was practicing lewis and clark song before i start learning this song, and when i started to learn this i was wondering why the hell my tone is not the same as urs, 30 minutes in i just realize the capo was still on the second fred the whole time!
Those barre chords are hard 'cause you always have the pinky stretched out on the high E string, and you lose strenght on the index. Some strings always sound muted. Some advice?
Well, this was only the second or third tutorial I made and I was making an effort to keep the length of the video down. If I did it again today it would probably be a longer video with more time spent on each section!
@@TimVanRoy You are AWESOME!! This saves a lot of time versus the way I learned it. I had to run a cassette on rewind a thousand times and figure out the chords by ear from "PoPs" version. Louis did it in the key of F, and that's the key I've played it in for years. Playing it a half step down makes it much easier on the fingers, and incorporates more open strings ringing, even sympathetically at times. Sounds beautiful. Thanks so much man!!!

Don’t worry about the time. The detail is greatly appreciated. Thanks for what you do.

My pleasure! Enjoy playing through the tune!

that 21222 chord tho, wew thats really hard
I pressed transcript and nothing happened and I prefer reading notes.
You're going too fast. Didn't explain the structure of chords either
