It's about breaking up with someone who still tangles you and your heart doesn't let that person go so you desperately free yourself from that person. Thats visually represented by all those things that tangle around her in the video.
Hey Ginger & Mike I'm so happy seeing you back with this great reaction, if you want dark romantic Mylene, try "L'Horloge" (Live 1989 MF Confidential or Live official 2019), it's a poem from Charles Baudelaire, adapted for Mylene, awesome composition.... Or "Sans Logique" a bitter sweet song (Music Video from 1989 is crazy, there's a live version in 1989 and 2019 also). Always a pleasure, thank you very much ;)
Hello *Ginger* & *Mike,* It's a song that takes your breath away on the first listen. I admit I was not convinced at first. And then, I listened to it several times, and finally, it's a song that takes time, a bit like good wine. By being more attentive to the percussion, we realize the undeniable potential that this song can deliver on stage. *"Forever"* *("Pour toujours"* in French) isn't precisely the translation of *"À tout jamais."* Indeed, *"forever"* induces the notion of something or of an action that lasts over time, something which continues. For example, in French like in English we will say: "They will be together *forever."* Conversely, *"à (tout) jamais"* implies an action that ends and can never be again. We'll then say, "ils sont séparés *à (tout) jamais."* (they're *definitively* separated) or "Il est banni *à (tout) jamais"* (he's banned definitively). *"Jamais"* in English translates to *"Never."* *"Never again"* could therefore, in certain cases, be also judicious. I modify my comment here to support it with a very concrete example in French; When we get married in the church or at the town hall in France, the protocol sentence pronounced by the priest or the mayor just before formalizing the union is: « Si quelqu'un s'oppose à cette union, qu'il parle maintenant ou se taise *à tout jamais.* » (If anyone opposes this union, speak now or be silent *definitively* (not "forever"). *"Definitively"* implies the end of something, on the contrary, *"forever"* implies something that never stops). Peace, folks. ☮🤗
One year ago , the Mylène's boyfriend has stopped his romance. It was hard and painfull for her. Poor Mylène , alone girl ! "A tout jamais " talks about this difficult period. The " f++k you too " is a message for her last boyfriend. Next " Rayon Vert ", Green Ray ?
Try "Que Je Devienne" it will be totally farmeresque and then you will understand that "A tout jamais is joyful...😆 Nobody can be as credible as Mylène Farmer in the dark..🤩
a very beautiful song about the influence that a narcissistic pervert can have on another person. She says to all these people, free yourself and tell him 'fuck you' forever...
Hi ginger and Mike. Hope you are well. Tickets go on sale for Mylene Farmer for her 2024 September/October gigs in Paris on Tuesday 18th July. Perhaps you might get a chance to see her seeing as you missed out this time round
This album she made called " L'Emprise" including this song "A tout Jamais" was done after she separated from her husband of 16+ years....she said in an interview that she almost gave up on music because he is a perverse narcissist...so in the song, when she says "Fuck you too" she aims at him and describes what he made her suffer through...Mylene , being so kind and true had to get out of this hellish relationship.....fyi.
Great reaction, thank you 😀 Ginger, did it come to you, what song from the 80s it reminds you of? I’ve had the same feeling from the very first time I heard it, but haven’t figured it out yet 😩
No this song it's just a little dark if you read the songs that she wrote when she'was young those one are dark. "I am afraid of emptiness. I turn pages. But... empty pages I'm useless", a good song for a beautiful day isn't it lol and it was her best period the great and dark Mylene
Let's expand our horizon and give everyday people a chance with Marvin Gaye's cover song around the world by musicians featuring Sara bareilles. Enough with Auto-Tune and digital manipulation let's get real and here's some natural singing
After almost 40 years as an artist (she released her first singles in 1984), I'm starting to think Mylene might not actually be human. No one looks that good at the age of 60! Personally, I started to really deteriorate after I turned 40, although I wasn't really a looker to start with so no harm done... Even when she takes on the role of a strange demon/fallen angel type character, there's something about her that makes you unable to take your eyes off her. J'en ai des frissons tellement les paroles de sa chanson sont profondes et flippantes ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ M.F A love You

To be honest I don’t think she’s mind may be ahead on her time…. Kisses from Montpellier france
It’s about Covid

she looks indeed timeless but apparently a little plastic surgery or facelift. still lucky genes! unlike madonna....
Elle venait de connaître une rupture,c’est un texte autobiographique, forcément plutôt sombre! Très compréhensible😢
THAT is not Mylene. Too far from what she was, to the original. You should react to older stuff.
