I definitely wanna do a video on that! Only issue is I don’t have a jetti or a Futaba radio. And I don’t have a few different FBLs that are on the market. I’m trying to see if I can borrow a Radio and FBL‘s for video purposes.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 beautiful case, Doug did a nice job. Very tight tolerances and a nice rubberized sleeve that holds the board. I agree and I think Mikado will. I also think they should switch to metal cases exclusively going forward
I would really be laughing if Mikado had suggested using duct tape. :) Thanks for posting this as I plan on using an EVO in my Interceptor gasser I am about to start working on. Maybe they will have this fixed by the time I need to order one.
@@district51_rc This video is a year old and since been fixed. No longer needed and in my opinion never needed to be a fix. I’ve run both hot glue and no hot glue and never seen a difference.
Nothing but the best videos. I too would like to see video with the futaba radios . I wish I seen your video before I got my futaba . I would of went with VBar .
man! I just got mine and was hoping the new ones were fixed, but no, I tried it out on a Raw 500 ive been flying on a 6250, and I had pages of vibration reports. So I will give this a try. Any and all V bar videos will be greatly appreciated! I just hate learning a new system, but it was definitely easy to set up. I fly pinching, and the radio switches are going to take some time to get used to. Im not selling my Spektrum 6250's just yet LOL! I must be used to my sticky NX8 gimbals cause I was all over the place with the V bar's. They are so smooth I can't feel them. Anyway, I'm sure I will love it, but ya this stuff is really expensive to have this sort of issue. I wish Spektrum would simplify the 6250. how they went from BeastX with three little potentiometer screws to the 6250 PID system is beyond me.
Vibration reports is normal, you won’t you need to do this. The Vbar EVO has super sensitive chips and it picks up anything. It’s not actually a problem. The new EVOs have a different chip then what was used in this video. But you can still try this if you like, I have not done it on any of my new ones. The Vcontrol system is awesome! Sooo much different then your NX8 and 6250 setup.
You're right Jeff, Mikado should have caught this before release - loads of Nitro guys are crashing heli's because of this. I for one will be sticking to the Neo and not upgrading to the EVO until the issue is fixed properly.
I 100% agree. This should have been caught in the testing phases. I know a lot of Nitro guys are having major issues. And crashing because of it. I really hope they get this issue, resolved as there is so much potential here that can really hurt them if not taken care of.
I emailed Mikado, they arent sending out anymore EVO units as of now because they are working on a hardware fix. So they are in the process of fixing it for good luckily
I need help!!!!!!!!!!. Do you know much about vbar express??? Iv set everything up no problems EXCEPT my flat line throttle curve for condition 123 on my futaba T18SZ transmitter. It only spools up 3/4 of the joy stick and one speed only full power Iv missed something im sure but don't know what it is ahhhhhh
Hello! I am good, hope all is well with you. I would recommend using the USB dongle. You would set up a model file in your transmitter just like you would for a helicopter and bind it to the dongle and you are good to go. Wireless transmitter for your flight simulator.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 Hello, thank you for your quick response, I'll order one ASAP, I love watching your builds, are you ever going to build a 600 Airwolf or 500 size, I would love to see you do that and fly it. Keep up the great work you do. Shaun

I really want to move to the Mikado system but I fear that with these kind of issues they will soon be a footnote in the history of r/c. I hope not but this is a bad show.
@@g33kfly trust me when I say mikado is not going anywhere. They are the pioneer of FBL and started it. The issue in this video has since been fixed a while ago. The glue was just to dampen the vibrations for logs because the sensor is very sensitive. I tested both ways and didn’t really notice any difference. I fly EVO FBL on a lot of models including the Turbine RAW and speed helis.
I'd be interested in a features comparison between VBar, IKon, Spirit, and others. Also, Spektrum vs V Control vs Jetti vs Futaba.

Good stuff Jeff thanks... I have my Evo's in the metal Doug Darby case but I went ahead and did this fix to be extra safe.

Hi great video...but will this invalidate the warrenty....can i send mine back to Mikado
Thank you. Mikado is the one that told everyone to do this on the first Gen EVO (since then now fixed) so I would assume no.
Short but sweet 👍🏻

Thank you sir!

what is that black glue you use to put on the servo connectors so they stay put?
It is black fabric paint from Amazon. It is four dollars a bottle.
So how do you plug your USB cable into the vbar to program it once it's installed on the heli. There is no room at all.
@@BradHaines1963 I don’t, I run Vcontrol. No need to plug the USB cable in. I setup and adjust all from my radio.
If I were to order a Vbar Evo today, would I need to worry about this still?
No, you don’t. I honestly didn’t even see a difference between this on the V1 and V2 EVOs. All the ones sold now are V2.

The hot glue was told to be done by mikado. But it can always be removed very easily with a little bit of rubbing alcohol or heat.
hi sir,any difference performance between ikon and vbar?
The biggest difference is the ease of setup on your radio VS a PC. Flight performance wise I can’t tell/feel a difference.

Poor show from Mikado and a serious own goal. The Evo should be an 'evolution', a piece of innovation but, clearly it isn't. Mikado, shmado.........
I absolutely agree! The Evo should’ve been a evolution and it has been an issue. I really hope they solve this issue on the next batch.
