No dude you're not the only one. I am a 70 year old musician, and I cry all the time when she sings. She is so otherworldly. There's just nobody like her.

    • @samhartford8677
      @samhartford8677 2 года назад +2

Indeed. She's like the Withney Houston who could have been had she been able to sing what Whitney was capable of and not what sold.
I am kind of glad that did not succeed/surrender to the US music scene. All I wish is that somebody would put her performances on RUclips and sell them. I would just buy them just because she deserves it.

@@samhartford8677 Many people try to compare Lara to other famous singers. Yes, they were amazing talents, like Whitney, Celine, Mariah, etc., but Lara is way more unique than all the "commercial" artists who we all know because they were promoted by a lot of money and controlling entities. Lara didn't play their game. She worked on fulfilling her own artistic desires and consistently delivered true artistic masterpieces. She never puts down any of the other famous singers and even idolized Barbra Streisand, who in my humble opinion can't come close to doing what Lara can, both artistically or vocally (see Yentl medley). Barbra herself admitted that Lara was probably the only singer who could cover that music well. It's extremely difficult. Lara is not like any other. She is in a realm by herself. Her personality is also very unique and she is such a beautiful person both inside and out. Not many artists of any type can be considered her peer. You can tell what a "fan-boy" I am LOL, but I have worked with some of the most famous musical artists in the world and nobody moves me like Lara Fabian. She is a 100% class act.

You are not the only one that gets moved sir. Everytime I hear her sing, no matter what song, no matter the venue or situation, I almost can't control the emotion that eminates from within. She does it to me like no other singer. There are some newcomers on the scene that are exeptional, but as far as I'm concerned she presses buttons that no one else can touch. I'm sure others have different opinions but I am talking about what she does to me. Love your reactions to Lara.

No, you're definitely not the only one. Every time I watch her perform certain songs I cry. I could watch the same performance 10 times back to back and break down just the same each time. The way she conveys the story and emotions within the lyrics, the picture she paints not only with her voice but with her whole body and presence is always breathtaking and moving.

This was a really good one! I have been fortunate to have met and have conversation with Lara Fabian. She is every bit as wonderful as she appears her. She is one of the most genuine, present and sincere people I've ever met.
At her concert at Carnegie Hall, it was as if... she was hosting a house party and was making sure every was having a good time and asking if they needed anything.

Brandon Brandon Brandon! You did it! A little while ago i commented in other video that someone should make a reaction video of Lara's "funny moments". Well this is not exactly that one but another same kind of video of Lara's moments. (Thanks to Gaby for hunting those videos!). So it's almost like a wish come true.😆 And you are the best person in today's reaction videos by far. Always great to hear your pro analyzes and comments of artists such Lara. And to find out someone else loves just the same things and moments in those performances. Especially Lara's. So huge thank you for this reaction! I certainly will continue to follow your reactions.😁👌🏻
Lara really shines in every possible moment in front of the camera, and she doesn't need much of "sound check" to master those vocals. I think if you wake her up in the middle of the night, she would sing the chorus of Je t'aime in three seconds...perfectly😉

You are not the only one buddy :) "Perdere L'amore" hits me everytime I hear it. I can listen to it for 1 hour and for 1 hour I cry. Just because. Lara is amazing any way, by singing, acting. Masterclass! "You are not from here" is another similar song when I listen to and can not hold my tears.

  • @Platycqb

5:00 It was a challenge. Sing Je T’aime with only the vowels if I remember correctly. As for the first song from the same show, she had to sing Allumer le feu (which is a very energetic and powerful song from Johnny Halliday) but as a lullaby.
3:10 Peak Lara, mid/late 90s I’d say. Her appearance was a gift already. And she was definitely “acting” a lot while singing back then. 😊

I'd like to start introducing you to Lara from the 80's and 90's, when she still had dark hair and used to only dressing in black, brown and dark color clothes. She later (1999) said that the reason was to "erase" herself and be recognized by her voice and not by her clothes or how she was physically, just the singer/composer SIA uses to do currently, she started to wear lighter clothes and dying her hair blonde color from 1997 on. I'd like you to react to this video of her performing live at the EuroVisision SONG contest 1988, she was 18 years old and represented the country Luxembourg. At the beginning of the video they introduce her to the public and show her with close friends in Canada.
Note: This was her first international performance, but she had already won other regional competitions in Belgium and recorded a vinyl in 1985, she started to do performances live on TV shows in 1986, at age 16. There's also on RUclips the video of her rehearsal, the day before this performance, she got very disappointed and upset with the organizers of the Eurovision Song Contest, because they had promised to her a full orchestra, and they also cut the melody off almoat 1 minute to fit it in the contest, shortening the song personality. She even thought about not performing, but was convinced not to abandon the event. Lara had already a strong personality, then she decided to direct herself at this performance, she was the only singer who didn't have a director telling her what to do on stage and where to look at. All the others contester were older than her.
PS: She also recorded this song in English (Trust) and Detch (Glaub). There's audios here on youtube of these.
    ruclips.net/video/eg94nisQ3tI/видео.html
The video/audios of her singing this song in 3 different languages I've mentioned above.

When you stopped the video at 3:39, it was one of her songs. I don't know who wrote without rehearsal because most of it is wrong.
Her father is Belgian and her mother is Italian.
Before finding success as a singer, she came to live in Quebec for several years and she has her Canadian citizenship in Quebec. We speak French but someone can speak English all their life without speaking French. There was a Talk Show host who had heard her singing covers before and she invited her to sing a few times and the Talk Show musicians even wrote her songs.
When The Talk Show ended, Lara Fabian started writing her own songs and that's where she found success. She returned to Europe around a year after and it worked very well for her and she lived there for several years and for the past few years she has been traveling between France and Quebec.
The Talk Show musicians, most of them became Celine Dion's musicians.

The song sung at 3:39 was done WITHOUT REHEARSAL. It was during an interview, and the host took calls from fans who each asked her to sing a song impromptu…which means she did not rehearse beforehand……..hence the title……..😐
Same goes for all the other clips. They were all clips of her singing UNPLANNED.

And no you are not the only one having that teary reaction! I had exactly the same reaction, even if I've heard the song so many time before.
However, what you said about Lara not being able to pronounce 'blind', first make me want to say that it's more about the artistic/voice technique choice (given it's a really easy word to pronounce), but once I come to think about it. I think her French upbringing does come through at some points. The placement is sometimes a bit off. -- Just as a background I'm a Finnish speaker, have English that is hardly distinguishable from somebody speaking English as their mother tongue and also speak fluent Italian, both professionally. But I was never able to master French or Russian. They come from such a differ place...
