I think Krutoy wrote the music and Lara the lyrics.
As often with Igor and Lara, Igor composed it and Lara wrote the incredible lyrics.
I especially like her ability to distinguish the 2 characters, the 2 personality sides, thru her interpretation. She is really the master at conveying emotions !
I am very biased due to my adoration of this artist but here goes anyway............this is from a LIVE concert and several things are notable - the first being just how she is one a a very few who actually sounds better in a live video than on a DVD or other recording - she is so technically perfect in her delivery............powerful yet somehow warm tones, to my ears anyway, which seemingly are directed to me alone - she is pitch perfect even when changing registers - she has unbelievable breath control and always uses just the right amount of volume to emphasize the particular emotion appropriate at it's moment - her diction is flawless and every single word is clear and understood - she is a storyteller and is a guide into that story who somehow invites her audience to Join her along that story line - she is the Ultimate artist..............all this and more - let us not forget that she writes many, many of her songs and they are words that we each feel but have difficulty in expressing. I seem to notice a true joy in your face when you listen to her - am I mistaken? Stay healthy
You are absolutely right! I love Lara, I'm a big fan and I love this interpretation even if it's a shame that it's a playback, her voice and her talent will always be magnificent.
Lara Fabian consistently exhibits respect for all involved............the composer and the story told, the orchestra, and most of all she shows respect to her audience by giving them 100 percent of her abilities and emotions. It is amazing to me how completely she gives of herself to those she is performing for - she doesn't cheat them in any way, not technically nor emotionally. The best vocal artist I've ever seen.

I am always amazed when l ask someone if they have heard her sing and they don't even know who she is, ( l get the same thing with Dimash ). 😢 It seems here in America, unless one has studied music, people are deaf to the capabilities of such a vocalist. It is so sad. I am just grateful the two aforementioned vocalists are becoming known through reactors such as you. This song by the both of them is amazing.

Yes well done, beautiful piece by Lara. I guess the obvious next step would be to critic Dimash who sang the same song at the same venue with Igor Krutoy. Dimash sings the alternate part and you will notice Lara's version is in blue, while Dimash is in red. Dimash takes on the role of Mr Hyde, rather than Mademoiselle Hyde

After your Video i went to sleep, Happy and with a nice piece of music in my ear... Now i'm awake, in the middle of the night and i listen "scheherazade" in my head. It's my all time Favorit from Rimsky-Korsakov and my brain think they are similar. Maybe because of all this contrasts, the little Oboe part... Strings and Lara against the Trompetes and the choir... I love the "From Lara with Love" concert, but I love even more that you can analyze other moments of her enormous career. You just saw a concert from her last era, where you see a fully settled artist, dominating the stage. I would like you to analyze a song sung as a duet with Johnny Halliday at the beginning of her career, so you can see the difference. Her stage presence has always been overwhelming, but I think you can notice the change from that first moment to the current one.

You have a beautiful russian song from the same concert. It's called "Love is like a dream". You mentioned thar you have seen her singing in Italian, French and English. Check how she sounds in russian.
That was fantastic, you never disappoint! I was so bad about learning theory. I had no patience for it and never learned more than I had to. I wrote more by instinct. Leave it to Lara, and you, to make me regret not being more patient with it lol. Songs like this just show how musically brilliant she is in her own right, like Adagio, so they hold a special place in my love for her. You have to be good to work with someone like Igor on songs of this caliber, and based on bts videos of her working on songs with other people, I think she at least co-wrote the melody. Which is something that rarely gets talked about, but I have a great appreciation for. She writes incredibly beautiful and interesting, intricate melodies. If nothing else, the fact that she has the depth of ability to work with people of Igor's incredible talent, speaks volumes of her own talent as a songwriter/composer. But, yes, she is very humble and always anxious to give credit to the people she works with. She is extremely good at collaboration. This entire project is a stunning and genius work of art. "Llora" is another incredible song. It will rip your heart out. And then we add her performance skills, including the way she plays to the camera, and the whole piece is elevated to a story telling experience of the highest quality.

@@SirHairless Oh sorry, bts is behind the scenes. So documentary type footage that shows her collaborating on songs. I don't know why I'm so fascinated by who writes the melodies, but I have been from the beginning of discovering her. I guess it's because they are just so next level brilliant.

We have the same ears for sure! I don't have your mastery of music composition and it's theory, but for the exact same reason's this song was mesmerizing. She can tell a story in song like no other! You should watch her other concert with Igor, where she sings this song, but she is wearing red. Some don't like it, because of the "tick-like" gesticulation when she changes character. I know you'll enjoy it too!

As always thank you for a great analysis, I am so glad to see you pick out some of her newer concerts. The Russian concert at the Kremlin Hall that she did in 2010 is absolutely wonderful. As powerful as "Lara with love" was this concert 10 years later highlights how well she has continued on in her career. The Russian song Lyubov pokozhaya na son she sings with such passion. If you know the story behind the song Llora, the emotion with with she sings it in this concert will put a lump in your throat.

It's wondrous how most people like myself for example take music for granted not realizing the complexity of the constructional processes of music that are required. Sir Hairless is the very first reactor that has opened my eyes and ears because he knows what he's talking about and goes deep into the matter while keeping it relatively ''simple''. Now, I am looking at music as entertaining harmonic algorithmic technology. There is so much involved that it ends up being science at the service of art. Why I implicate science it's because it resembles using calculus and combinatorics to obtain a way to arrive at an intended goal. Of course, not all music benefits from such an arduous exercise which is why when we listen to music in general we are either amazed and wanting more or left indifferent. So in my humble opinion, basically it's all about the math involved. Great songs remain while others fade away depending on the mathematical effort applied. Little did I know, Igor and Lara are both master mathematicians in the art of music.
