Woo Ping Yuen’s fight choreography is just beautiful. He also choreographed The Matrix, the IP Man movies, Iron Monkey, and so many more. He is legend.

I read that Michelle couldn't quite fly, because she was weighed down by her regrets. Whereas Jen was young and a free spirit. This movie has so many brilliant themes and well thought out.
5:35 this part right here when Shu Lien about to take the sword - Jen kinda give her a heads up by looking up that a small dagger about to come her way to kinda "protect" her as she doesn't want any serious harm. altho i think Shu Lien would've deflected it anyway. Little things like this in the movie make this such a masterpiece.
Thinking too much about gravity, stuntmen/women, realness, etc takes away the joy of watching action / kung fu movies. We all know this is not real. Even documentaries and news are sometimes framed and even faked. So, let's just enjoy it

Did you know that most of this scene was done by stuntmen? They have so much screen time that they should have their names mentioned in the video, not just the actresses.
I hate seeing scenes done by stunt doubles and I don't think anyone else does, even if it's for a small cut to a very specific skill or to do the entire fight. Even when you can't see the stunt double's face, it's very obvious when the actress is replaced, and you automatically notice the cut to the stunt double in a predictable way, it's very irritating every time this happens, because the audience who sees how much that actress is able to make the moves. It's not believable that that person would be capable of fighting like that, you end up losing connection with what's happening on the screen, you don't keep the pact with the viewer. If the actress doesn't know how to do a jumping kick or acrobatics then leave that out of the choreography, do something simpler and more executable, like Charlize Theron or change the actress.

The flying stuff is a bit over the top, but parkour has shown a lot of the other movements are achievable.
MMA has dinged old school styles. In reality fights in a street setting would end quickly and / or go to the ground.
These movies knows how to use sounds effects and how to dose them. It's refreshing not to hear HUGE sound effects every 2 seconds.
