I think one of biggest things that goes unnoticed in this movie due to all the great action and dialogue etc. Is the tremendous amount of SADNESS that Stallone plays Rambo with. Its always with him. It never leaves not for one second in the entire film. The sadness of a man who's been too far, seen too much and will never be wide eyed about anything again, and the very LAST of his kind, Stallone pulled that off BRILLIANTLY.
ONE OTHER THING ''MAN VERUS MAN'' AND MAN VERUS THE WORLD.A MAN THAT HAS DONE TO MUCH KILLING MADE HIM NUMB! WAR CHANGES A PERSON MENTALLY DEEP SOME SCARS NEVER HEAL.
I never understood why Stallone didn't receive an award for this film. I've seen it at least two hundred times and every times and I never tire of seeing it again and again. Thank you for sharing with us these few scenes that disappeared during the final editing of the film. No regrets for me, Rambo first blood is great like that.
"A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke." One of the best lines ever.
Great movie...none of the computer generated stuff just good ol' fashion action movie. I swear I can smell the trees or the river when i see this movie. Just a great movie.
Sadly, the eventual remake of this movie will be awful. Rambo will still be a veteran, updated as having served in Afghanistan or Iraq. Teasle will still be the town police chief, only now she will be a woman. When she sees Rambo, instead of harassing or arresting him, she buys him a meal at a local diner and talks with him. She recognizes in Rambo the same PTSD that her dead husband had. Her husband was also a veteran, who came back from the war with extreme PTSD and eventually committed suicide. Now she wants to help Rambo in a way she couldn't help her husband. Eventually she convinces him to stay in town and seek counseling and therapy from the clinic in town, which is run by a scrappy, outspoken, liberal, anti war, African American female social worker named Sam(antha) Troutman. Somewhere along the way Rambo falls in love with the police chief, and there's a gratuitous sex scene of them making love. Galt is still a jerk, and causing trouble, only now it's because he's a racist, a misogynist, and possibly a neo-nazi white supremacist. Galt hates the social worker Troutman because she's black, and the police chief Teasle because she's a woman, and he thinks he should be the police chief instead. Galt, and all of the deputies(except Mitch, who is gay) are secretly part of a local anti government militia group. Rambo teams up with the female police chief Teasle, the Black social worker Troutman, and gay Mitch, to defend the town from attack by Galt's local, gun toting, neo nazi, anti government militia group. Having used his military skills one last time, Rambo throws his medals, including the Congressional Medal of Honor, into the trash, after making a derogatory speech about the evils of Republicans and conservatives. Rambo and Teasle live happily ever after. Troutman is elected Mayor, and Mitch becomes the new police chief. The end. Or at least that's the way Hollywood would rewrite the story nowadays.

me too i just bought this on 4K and it looks stunning! reading on IMDB trivia the original cut was over 3 hrs long! man i would love to see that cut even if Sly hates it and wanted to burn it. well nobody said it had to be that long anyways apparently he let them take out half of his dialog out of the film and focus more the other characters
Because of the poor sequels many forget that this was a powerful film in its day. I've had people laugh at me when recommending re-watching it and then apologise after. This really was a combination of a good director, good writing, music, stunt team and good actors pulling off a good story, then followed up with bad sequels which wrecked the whole thing.
1981rawin I think the lack of quality in the sequels can partially be blamed on Stallone. He was having little success in non-Rocky films so This was something of a make or break film when he did it, plus it had been in and out of production for like 10 years with different people attached to star in it so he might've taken a pay cut to do it. I'm betting Sly saw how good this film might be and demanded a different ending where Rambo lived so there would be a sequel.
Well, people need a reason. As getting to know a person. Having social skills helps. Check out Laura at the Bruderhoff on you tube. Bruderhoff have rules though, yet??? Which knowing what you enjoy, finding others that do the same can be an issue, especially if there's distance. As I know what you are saying, as I've been alone a long time myself. I only mention this as like the good book says, to have friends a person needs to be friendly. Now sometimes a person can be in an area where it isn't conducive to themselves. Like small towns are right for some and not others. Same with different areas of a neighborhood.
Well , eventually learn to not give a damn about anybody either you know ... As said by a person above , everyone needs a reason! Especially if you're a man, you won't be loved or cared about unless you provide something So nowadays , to be frank, I am just like "F people " and stay away from them except some of my really good buddies
Well no wonder this movie got so many versions out there. According to the people who worked on this movie it had so many scenes edited out from a total runtime of like 180 mins and that's double the duration of the original release. This really deserves a Special Edition/Director's Cut.
Teasle: Are you telling me that 200 of our men against your boy is a no-win situation for us? Trautman: You send that many, don't forget one thing. Teasle: What? Trautman: A good supply of body bags.
Rambo 5 tonight! I forgot just how great Rambo 1 is. I remember every moment as it is forever glued into my head. I sometimes feel like Rambo, I want to do good, but someone always pushes me, then I have to blow them up. 🤣😂💣💥
I remember my father giving me the book to read when I was a kid, then the movie came out a few years later. Both have a very special place on my bookshelf.
They squeezed the shit out of Terminator Series after James Cameron. Rambo series didnt do so. Otherwise Terminator was a little better storytelling than Rambo
Last Blood was pathetic. Rambo talks more than the other 4 movies combined. He also forgets his Special Ops / stealth training and walks into a Mexican cartel in plain sight, and they nearly beat him to death.
The first scene of this movie tells it all. In my view one of the best, if not the best scene of all times. There is so much in this scene, frankly unbelievable how they got it on tape. The moment Rambo walks back and Teasle looks in the mirror of his car ... ... goosebumps.
I live near Hope, the town this movie was filmed at. The downtown still looks the same as it did in 1982. A sleepy little town one hour from Vancouver that has basically stayed the same. We also like going for walks at the Othello Tunnels where Rambo jumped off the rock wall. The wood bridge that Rambo walks over when Teasle looks in rear view mirror was torn down about 5-7 years ago. A bunch of Rambo lovers did a reunion at the bridge before they ripped it down
I love how the sheriff lies thru his tooth to the state police guy about how he treated Rambo and I love the bar scene where you can see Troutman knows he is still alive
here is the true deleted scenes The TV version of First Blood premiered on NBC on Sunday night, May 12, 1985, as a tie-in to Rambo: First Blood Part II. Three minutes were edited out and any suggestive dialogue was changed. However, the following scenes were added in order to make up for anything that was cut:
A scene in the beginning where Rambo tries to order takeout at a diner but then gets hassled, making Rambo leave. A scene after the posse is injured. A scene showing the Paramedics putting the posse in ambulances and Galt's body into a helicopter just as Kern arrives. A longer version of the conversation between Trautman and Teasle about Rambo taking out his posse.
Thanks a million for this..I saw the original on TV many years ago and vaguely remember these parts/lyrics have bought every version on dvd and bluray but could not find it..thought I was imagining this..thanks for the video cause it really made me grateful I did not dream up these parts.wish they included them on dvd versions..I can rest easynow :))

I watched this EVERY night for around 6 - 8 Months flat when i was bout 9 back in 1985 with my big bro, watched it every night after his work, serving his time as a joiner!!,...lol,.. Great dayz man!!
He didn’t actually sew the wound be cut his arm during the stunt where he actually landed onto the tree branches below to break his fall. Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Willis and others used to do a lot of their own stunts in their movies and didn’t always rely on stunt men like so many other actors do especially actors today.
Actor Brian Denehy reminded me of the jerk off ass-hat we had in my small town. He was a ex US Army MP(6 years active duty). He was a bully & a loud mouth jerk.
This was a heart-wrenching compilation. Hats off to you mate. A smashing tribute to the legendary commando and to the man who played the role. The music and the visuals would make any die-hard fan cry.
I can never forget when they chain him up in the station, and they’re going to hurt him. Then they see he was already hurt, and he fs them up, it was awesome. I know how Rambo felt, and understand how he reacted.

I agree. I especially like the scene with Galt's widow. Teasle is finally facing the reality and consequences of his little ego trip. Everything that happens after that is solely on him. I wonder why it was ever cut?
Teasel's a Korea vet. You can see the medals on his desk I think when he's loading his weapons at the end. Perhaps because Rambo's people were there for America's first war, he underestimates the man
Yeah, another Delusional devil who thinks he's god and controls the universe and everyone in it. Piece of pride/hate consumed Trash who needs to be tortured slowly and chronically in a dark dungeon whole in the middle of the earth
One of the best stallone films ever,... Non stop action... A one man army.. Resisting arrest, fighting with will teasle, teaming up with trautmann,... Fantastic written and directed, and produced,... As for stallone, his action career, went from strength to strength, rambo II.. III. IV... His final final film.... Last blood
It would be interesting to hear what Teasle's definition of vagrancy is. Seems like it was more, "I don't like the look of you, so if you don't leave town I'm going to arrest you". Rambo wasn't a vagrant. He was travelling through town, and planning to get something to eat. If he was going to get something to eat, he probably had some money. It's not like he was a homeless person hanging around town. The "resisting arrest" charge is ironically funny. Given the way Rambo went through all of Teasle's men escaping from the jail, and again in the woods, Rambo was obviously capable of putting Teasle down right then and there. Far from resisting, Rambo let himself be arrested, and Teasle is lucky to have survived.
@John Estrada [Student] I think you should be able to resist arrest if it is illegal, since the cop has NO RIGHT to make that arrest in the first place.
A longer version of the conversation about the capture of Rambo. A scene where Teasle and Trautman land at the spot where Rambo is "killed". A scene where Teasle returns to his office and is congratulated by the townspeople for "killing" Rambo. None of these above scenes have ever appeared as extras on DVD or on Blu-ray.
why do I remember most of those scenes, I don't remember ever watching this on VHS... also, why were they removed? Unless it's gory shit, or a directors cut, I've never heard of movies being re-edited.
@@derpman Ya, there's directors cuts of that. Just saying... an action movie that after it was released on VHS, they decided to do something different on DVD. Seems weird.
this scene became a movie about the events of a veteran elite soldier and his psychological drama and losing his friends. I even did it right now it made me cry even in the comment. War is always hell and unnecessary.
I must have been a lucky bastard because I had recorded this movie on VHS from HBO sometime from the 80's, and most of the deleted scenes posted here were in that recording. Still an awesome flick!
I remember all these scenes. I used to watch this film at least once a month in the 80s as a teenager. The days when you had 3 channels on the Tv. Probably my all time favourite film.
I've seen every scene in the European release. Back in the day we weren't as queasy with sex or violence in movies. Now we are every bit as offended by anything as everyone else.
Thank you for putting this up. My Dad took me to see First Blood when I was 8 yrs old. It's one of my favorite movies. I've never seen these scenes before, AWESOME!!
This is great footage. Thankyou for uploading! Don't worry about the quality! You have done the world a service. Did not know so much of this film was rejected!!! The 'film cutters' are sometimes too harsh.
One of the best rambo collections there will be never duplicates to such kind of movie as Rambo great old memories very touching reminds me the past time man .....They drew the first blood....The kid is resilient .......all that remains is mere memories best of the time and still one of the best.
Long before Stallone was hired to play Rambo, other actors were being considered for the role such as Clint Eastwood, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Paul Newman, Steve McQueen, Nick Nolte, John Travolta, Dustin Hoffman, Ryan O'Neal, James Garner, Kris Kristofferson. Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show
Kirk Douglas said he would have done it if Rambo could be killed at the end. He said they wouldn’t have made money on the sequels but it would have been the right actor.
Teasle shakes hands with Trautman at the bar. Trautman doesn't really want to shake hands, but finally does. He doesn't have much if any respect for Teasle. I like the last thing Trautman says: "Good Luck". He knows Rambo is still alive, and that he will come for Teasle.
When Rambo finds the way out from the cave, Stallone shown all the vulnerability of a soldier that seems unstoppable. For me it's one of the best scenes of this masterpiece. Every time it ends, I feel like to start the film from the beginning.
The ending of the novel is much better and fitting. David Morrell penned a great story that should have shamed this nation for what it did to Vietnam vets.
Thank you for posting this, I saw this version on the USA Network (broadcast on the east coast at the time) and recorded it on VHS, I still have the tape with the scenes in the movie! Thought I was going crazy that I hadn't seen them in some many years and no one ever heard of them being released on DVD.
1982 was a great year for film...'First Blood'...'Blade Runner'...'Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan'. I was 15...and I saw all three. It was great to be a teen back then...

me too i just bought this on 4K and it looks stunning! reading on IMDB trivia the original cut was over 3 hrs long! man i would love to see that cut even if Sly hates it and wanted to burn it. well nobody said it had to be that long anyways apparently he let them take out half of his dialog out of the film and focus more the other characters
Voz csf5
Okay where is that directors cut.can"t wait to watch buddy
Because of the poor sequels many forget that this was a powerful film in its day. I've had people laugh at me when recommending re-watching it and then apologise after. This really was a combination of a good director, good writing, music, stunt team and good actors pulling off a good story, then followed up with bad sequels which wrecked the whole thing.
I think john Rambo done the series justice 2 and 3 to commercial but that's hollywood
you can say similar about rocky but the sequels were not as terrible as Rambo 2 and 3
yea I agree with that
1981rawin I think the lack of quality in the sequels can partially be blamed on Stallone.
Go home dude, the sequels were a bit Hollywood cheesy but still great action films with good stories.
wow this is the first time ive been on a youtube video and havnt seen an argument!
war really brings us together :)

Sometimes I feel like an outsider, just like Rambo was. Being by yourself all the time and nobody gives a damn.
Same bro im just being myself and everyone ignores me
Well , eventually learn to not give a damn about anybody either you know ...
As said by a person above , everyone needs a reason!
Especially if you're a man, you won't be loved or cared about unless you provide something
So nowadays , to be frank, I am just like "F people " and stay away from them except some of my really good buddies
That's still one of my favorite movies of all time. I was 21 now I'm 58 lol
Well no wonder this movie got so many versions out there. According to the people who worked on this movie it had so many scenes edited out from a total runtime of like 180 mins and that's double the duration of the original release. This really deserves a Special Edition/Director's Cut.
Don't care if so many version there, they can't replace nor overtake sly on his version RAMBO.
Teasle:
Are you telling me that 200 of our men against your boy is a no-win situation for us?
Trautman:
You send that many, don't forget one thing.
Teasle:
What?
Trautman:
A good supply of body bags.
White Space Marines favorite line.
That sewing scene was vital in portraying Rambo as he was described especially when he acted as scared as you and I when surrounded by rats.
Rambo 5 tonight! I forgot just how great Rambo 1 is. I remember every moment as it is forever glued into my head. I sometimes feel like Rambo, I want to do good, but someone always pushes me, then I have to blow them up. 🤣😂💣💥
You're too weak and can't control yourself. Swallow your pride and get help
I remember my father giving me the book to read when I was a kid, then the movie came out a few years later. Both have a very special place on my bookshelf.
best sly films are Rocky and First Blood , 2 classics that just get better and better with time, love em both
The Lords of Flatbush!
Rocky 2 was a pretty solid follow up for the first movie.
Rambo is a LEGEND!
Never knew this movie 🎥 had deleted scenes. Seeing these after 30 years, is amazing!
Stallone is getting a proper Rambo movie in 2019 compared to Arnold and his Terminator 2019 movie.
I'm no fan of Aaaaaanold.
Really?
They squeezed the shit out of Terminator Series after James Cameron. Rambo series didnt do so. Otherwise Terminator was a little better storytelling than Rambo
They're both brain dead now. Probably both junk movies
A bunch of Rambo lovers did a reunion at the bridge before they ripped it down
4:19 this is a pivotal scene because it indicates Trautman quietly knows Teasle instigated this entire disaster, and Teasle of course won’t admit it
This how I saw it at the theater in 82 in Wisconsin.
Semper fi
Rambo was Army, not Marines.
However, the following scenes were added in order to make up for anything that was cut:
all RAMBO wanted was to eat
and then leave
thats not much
Just hitchhiking through.
He was hoping his friend Delmore Barry could help him out for a while. That was the only reason he was in the area.
I don't know why in the hell they took all these detailed scenes out. I remember being maybe 8 years old.. and exactly seen it on HBO or something
well put
What’s a posse?

One of thee best movies of ALL time hands down! And i can and will continue to watch it over and over again and again! Even after all those years of doing so since I was a little kid!
I love First Blood
Me too. My favorite Rambo movie. I felt sorry for Rambo. It was sick the way Teasle, Galt and Ward treated him in the movie. It was Teasle's fault.
I loved rambo 1,2,3

Great, first Nam flick i ever saw as a kid!, Actually THE first video i watched on VHS!! I watched this EVERY night for around 6 - 8 Months flat when i was bout 9 back in 1985 with my big bro, watched it every night after his work, serving his time as a joiner!!,...lol,..
Great dayz man!!
Stallone is extremal. He really cut his shoulder. Then he really sewed up the wound.
The wound was fake, but the pain of the broken ribs from the jump in the tree was real. That scream when he landed was real pain.
"Dave" the State Cop, is the Late Bill McKinney, who played the Mountain Man in Deliverance,:Squeal boy!"...
0:00. That theme for Carolco Studios is serious business. It is an explosion of pure genius.
Vera Evans ...Hello 😍😍😍
The Carolco intro is just pure magic
40 Years of Masterpiece Story Movie and tragedy... Still Fresh.
Teasle never treated Rambo like a neighbor's kid. He was just covering his ass.
That's Teasle's excuse.
Actor Brian Denehy reminded me of the jerk off ass-hat we had in my small town. He was a ex US Army MP(6 years active duty). He was a bully & a loud mouth jerk.
@@DavidLLambertmobile Probably a traitor and felon like Teasle also.....

They should add all these scenes back into the movie. Make it a Deluxe Director's Edition on Blu-ray and 4K.
I agree. I especially like the scene with Galt's widow. Teasle is finally facing the reality and consequences of his little ego trip. Everything that happens after that is solely on him. I wonder why it was ever cut?
One of my 1st 18 cert films I ever watched as a child! I love this film, no CGI as well!
This "Sheriff" was full of himself! Pin Rambo's Congressional Medal Of Honor "to his liver". HA! Grow a pair first!
whiteribbonman1 he cried like s bitch when Rambo had the knife to his throat
Phil Williams i heard the origen of teasel that he was a solider himself and when he heard about vietnam he hated the soldiers that thought there
Teasel's a Korea vet. You can see the medals on his desk I think when he's loading his weapons at the end. Perhaps because Rambo's people were there for America's first war, he underestimates the man

Last blood
"Many soldiers will return from war, but none can ever go home."
Love all the Rambo movies...
Busted for vagrancy in Jerkwater, USA!
Filmed in Hope BC Canada!
@@dongilleo9743 he didn't like Rambo's long hair..........nice cop, exactly the kind we don't need
@John Estrada [Student] you certainly can if the cop tries to kill you for no good reason.
@John Estrada [Student] I think you should be able to resist arrest if it is illegal, since the cop has NO RIGHT to make that arrest in the first place.

I must have been a lucky bastard because I had recorded this movie on VHS from HBO sometime from the 80's, and most of the deleted scenes posted here were in that recording. Still an awesome flick!

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show

as big as Teasle is, it would take more than a glass that size to get him drunk
Teasle shakes hands with Trautman at the bar. Trautman doesn't really want to shake hands, but finally does. He doesn't have much if any respect for Teasle. I like the last thing Trautman says: "Good Luck". He knows Rambo is still alive, and that he will come for Teasle.

The ending of the novel is much better and fitting. David Morrell penned a great story that should have shamed this nation for what it did to Vietnam vets.
