They were the KISS of Japan. The rock music industry over there is basically Before X and After X. Yoshiki is a genius. And they're probably the most tragic band to ever exist.
ahh, Legends. Drummer Yoshiki is also classical trained pianist, he also play many other instruments. He written big part of songs. One of master peace is "Art of life". it is very long song made of few parts and i love the most piano part. they are such drama kings 🤣 There is their younger brothers also legendary band and still active Luna Sea. Now they sharing same guitarist Sugizo (my favorite guitarist) in his solo work he likes to experiment with music stiles and working with musicians from various countries. Sugizo also is classical trained violinist, sometimes play with electric violin. Luna sea vocalist have kinda poetic voice, singing stile... I love their live performance, over 20 years are same original people.
Toshi 💖performed at a benefit concert singing Masquerade with 2 time gold medalist Yuzuru Hanyu skating and performing! I’ve been looking for more of this singers music but I didn’t know about this group This is so awesome 💗💗💗
OMG!! This is one of my fav bands ever, and I've been craving for their music lately... I don't know how I've missed this video, thanks for reacting to X Japan!! You should also check Art of Like at Tokyo Dome 1993. Another band from that time that's still going strong is Buck-Tick
I really like this band and this song. There are lot of version of this song and I love them all. However my favourite would still the 92 Tokyo Dome version. It feel heavy and impactful for me.
I don't listen to these guys as much as I used to... But hearing their songs always remind me how great they are. Too bad they released relatively few albums
Since reformation they they have brought in the guitarist/violinist Sugizo who was a friend of Hide. There are a couple of live videos where they have added a piano and violin intro to some of the songs which I really like.
i know this band in the 2000 in my middle school years. hear them a lot until now. memorising the lyrics during recess by reading the printouts lyrics. internet is hard to own in all household at that time. i am from malaysia. at that time i only know my close friend and i that know this band.
Yoshiki, who mainly composed and wrote their songs lost his father at age of 10 which leads to sad and tough lyrics, also the bassist (taiji sawada) and lead guitarist (hideto matsumoto) have both passed away.
@@ChrisPage68 Yes Taiji did, but Yoshiki and even Taiji himself said that they didnt think Hide killed himself, it was more of an accident since he was drunk and passed out.

Their story is so sad, but the fact that they are still going is really inspiring.
Def Leppard might disagree about tragedy. But you can see elements of X Japan in many modern Japanese bands.
Vastly more talented than KISS honestly
@@meganega123 true. I was referring more to their level of fame than talent.
@@christinakelly3336 fair enough
I love X-Japan as one of my all time favorites! It's been a while since I've heard this one. It's such a masterpiece!

few modern japanese bands live that long. And most that do, have to reinvent themselves every couple of years....
My favorite band of all time!!!! ToshI, one of my favorite vocalists of all time. More people need to know this band existed/exists. 🙅🏻♀️
I´d uploaded X's discography a year ago hero on RUclips but they deleted my account for copyright violation :( A real shame
I’m so glad your finally going there Gene Simmons said if they were western they be the greatest band on earth

One of a kind band. And if you like classical music then you should check out Yoshiki’s (drummer & pianist of X Japan) classical world tour videos.

I don't think they need a "DIo reference". This band can stand on their own.
This track is the most underrated of their discography
We need more X Japan, Last Live is great place to start, Endless rain as a ballad and Kurenai as the fast metal one ;)
We are X!

Just for the space for such a great band, new sub

It's, it's, it's... it's 30 years before its time.
X Japan art of life
My favorite band =~
We are X from Brazil.

Sounds like the surviving family members should sue Aqua Net.
They committed suicide, as did Yoshiki's Dad.

Toshi is the vocalist.
I think since Taiji left in 1992 they never perform this song anymore.
that is not true
We are X
"Bach to Bach!" Are you sure you're not Welsh, Charlie?
Masterpiece❤❤
It's a neo-classical speed-metal power-ballad, and I will never NOT be here for this song.
NICE reaction! THANX!
この日のRoseof painは本当に最高でした。X with orchestra。
