Those actuators are so nice looking 👍 the red and black color scheme is sick. That Thanos controller is awesome too definitely the best way to go with a servo actuator system. One day I'll convert my static rig I hope 🙏

I see that you had the NLR Motion Plus before the RSmega+ how are you finding the difference? I like both systems, the NLR one for compactness but like the RSmega for having 4 actuators.

There is no part 2 😂 Here is a video, the Mega is quiet but when u crash all the weight if the rig makes the noise. I almost went that route but I had issues with the sales rep so I went with PT scorpion actuators. I do have the eRacing Lab loss of rear traction kit to add under the four actuators.
Hello there ,I hope you don't mind me asking what the issue was just I'm looking at this system as a possibility for my rig and I don't want the hassle of bad costumer service !! I've been looking at the PT scorpion for a while now but the cheapest I can find in the UK is £7400 and the Qubic works out at £8500 both are really expensive but this system with shipping and the 20% import tax works out at about £3800 i think 🤔
@@thedude4795 with the restock I was a little impatient with the sales rep with the response time of the email. But after ordering the scorpions stateside I still had to deal with a fiasco so I think in general when dealing with overseas merchandise there will be some difficulties when running into technical issues communicating over email.

Since using the Scorpions I have had issues with not only the owner of PT but the third party seller in the states that I purchased it from. Great finish, they look very good and I'm sure it will be a breakthrough... by the way, it has new motors in its belt tensioner, some clue or a new revision would be nice, next week I'll order a screw motor used to raise tables, It's to test and build my belt tensioner, I don't like the servos, they make too much noise and they burn out soon... I guess now all your time will be with the actuators, I would do exactly the same...
I switched to stepper motor tensioner, the SimHub version (one of my servos died after a year). It is still noisy for me as it is mounted on seat rails, but is much more responsive and fast. Working on comparison material currently…
Working on it, having 10 multiple projects and going to my daily job takes its time ;) For part 2 the assembly os servo drivers inflated to a full blown separate project that took its toll as well…
Nice. I'm having fun for a week now with the rs mega+, cables is nightmare to manage, much much hardcore and violent than the simrig sr2. hitting curb feel so real. Alot of smoothing required. One tip is drivers is sensitive, do not mix the drivers power with other sim devices. It will have its own power extension. Given me alot of issues when I plugged in VR, wheel together with the drivers oower extension. I find it very hard to tune from the default setting, so a tip is just download from the cloud of others tune. Then adjust from there.
Thanks for the info, I will not have any time soon to finish assembly but was relying on pre-made profiles for download. Can you please share more info on the power issues you have? I heard at 110V lot of people have issues with EMI, but I was hoping being in EU with 220V grid will not have troubles. My plan is to make rail junction box and power them with one cable splitting in parallel and then making second junction box for wheelbase, shakers and belt tensioner ultimately have much shorter lines and dedicated emergency power switches and fuses.
@@57uyo I'm using a power extension with emi filter. But I put VR and wheelbase power together, my understanding is the noise from the 4 drivers affected the VR and wheelbase. My VR will go blank sometimes and my monitor auto off. So now power extension only have the 4 drivers plugged in. And VR and wheel plugged in elsewhere. No more issues after this. I guess the drivers has "dirty" noise so try not to have them powered together with your other hardware, otherwise something will go wrong. Yes parallel connection will be good and have only 1 power plug. U can mix them with other hardware after it is emi filtered. So drivers- emi filter- power extension with other hardware - wall plug. NOT drivers- power extension with other hardware- emi filter- wall plug. This will cause issue.

Hah, you know how it goes, mate, been busy with projects and they seem never to stop. Moved my monitors to free stand because of the mega, but made it retractable with electric motors so I can put them back in front of wheelbase when motion is not used. While at it I redid half my rig to prepare for next project - will add surge and TL to substitute my V3 seatmover. It is all by my design using linear slider actuators, surge will be on top of rig, TL will be on the seat only so pretty compact system. Already sourced all parts and have to start building. All will be documented and released eventually if some wants to build it. And if course all of this is being shit in video which makes things ridiculously slower 🤪New stuff for now has only shorts videos for demo, but will have to edit them as well…
@@57uyo yeah, the lower park position when there is no motion... you could tap the e-stop for the actuators to go to 50% (standby) and activate the Force offline switch (set to hold position) 😉
@@tronicgr haha, yes I could do that, but also monitors move backwards, not inly vertically so I have best of both worlds - monitors can be right behind wheel or away behind base at safe distance. Added bonus is easier cable maintenance - i just move them away and open space to work. Motors are capable at 150 holding force without power so I can leave them in whatever position is needed ;) This opens up possibilities for using it in multiple scenarios and have the monitors right where needed - relaxed short travel for night driving, full 150mm for flight, etc.

I wanted to get your genuine opinion of how much better is for you now compare than from before with the NLR V3. From 1 to 10 how you would score each? Mega rs+ and NLR V3. And then also about the noise. A friend had the SFX 100, and I felt it was very noisy... But in your video and others this mega rs + seems very quiet. Hi Jay, thank you too! I still have the V3 and use it together with the Mega. They work very well together but some of the fine details are lost because of the picot in the seatmover. RS Mega+ is much better than the Motion Plus I had before and totally worth it. I am looking into selling now the V3 and adding surge and traction loss. It is very quiet, depends on how you set it up. It can be very fast and violent and it literally can jump from the floor. Most of the boise comes from my monitors though as they are ok integrated mount. V3 is noisier but yet again RS Mega+ I set it up at lower settings…

I opted for SRS as this is the preferred way for thanos controller - works pretty well. Personally I do not need the pro subscription as I am able to configure all myself but will buy it to check what it adds up for the second part of the review.

Hi mate, directly from them yes, they have they ways - they will tell you. I really like how it works and at this pricepoint it is great (paired with SRS for me). Much better than the NLR Motion Plus i had before. Paired with bass shakers it is awesome (they come first before motion for me at least).

@@simmytech-rs5241 the video is titled literally with the word "assembly" in it. It's a KIT, yet complete enough to not need to manufacture anything yourself. It's a solution between DIY and full on commercial D-box. Besides, what more you could do with the whole 1.5" range of D-box that you can’t do with a set of tactile vibration speakers 😅
Part 2 is not in my immediate plans. Shot it last year, but busy with new projects so it got left behind… maybe one day will find the time to finish it, but who knows

@@57uyothe pro has autotune profiles personalized based on your driving. Faster to get profiles in the ballpark leaving little tweaking afterwards 😉
