Thank you for the film. Tear came to my eye when I watched the film. The whole world is forever grateful to the Soviet people for their contributions in WWII. It was Soviet red army & red airforce that defeated Nazi Germany.

I think I watched this in the wrong time. I was with my family in the airport waiting for the flight and I boarded the aircraft crying like a baby. I had to swear to them that I was just watching a documentary. I am happy to learn about them and teach my family as well. Legends will always live in our hearts.

Supergirls, just Supergirls..and I though I had a difficult job as Bush Pilot..some of these girls flew over 900 night bombing missions fighting at night the also tough Nazi's. On flimsy biplanes at under freezing temps most times. Supergirls.

Don't think I've been more deeply moved in a great many years after watching the entire series of these valiant women who took up the fight to free their nation and many others of the German Invaders. Bless these incredible women for their sacrifices, and you for telling their heroic stories.

What a great story to make a mowie about it! With strong caracters who embroidering flowers in the afternoon and in truth dreaming about love (they young girls) but must to fight at night because they protect relatives and friends.

Yes, I watched the entire 17 or 18 series. It was a very moving, poignant and wonderfully made film on the exploits of these young, amazingly courageous and patriotic Soviet female pilots with their all-female regiment. Flying in bitter cold, snowy and icy winds with no protection, no aircover, in pitch black nights with constant Nazi Luftwaffe patrol and anti-aircraft flak ! Relieve their comradeship, loves lost and found , lives lost, memories.... Superb Russian series ! Many thanks to the brilliant producers, actors, actresses, scriptwriters and all !

It's right, they are they are the most ordinary girls, like everyone else in the world! They love their home, just like everyone else in the world..., and, at the same time, for one girl-pilot = 10 combat missions in one night (!) in a combat aviation regiment of girls is from 17 to 26 years old. The fact: This was the only regiment in the history of aviation of second world war, which always went on a sortie without a parachute...(the girls is from 17 to 26 years old)! Almost every girl from the regiment who survived the battles of war II has more than 700 sorties ! Modern people are not able to comprehend this fact, because the Hell of the second world war remained only in the memory of a few old people... Such a large number of sorties, it turned out, because in one night, each crew made several sorties. Returning from the hell of battle back to the airfield, the plane was again loaded with bombs and again rose into the night sky, back to hell, and so several times a night ! The sun was rising, a new day was beginning the flights ended until the next night, but the girls could not sleep, they closed their eyes and the memory returned the light of the floodlights of anti-aircraft artillery, like a razor blade between life and death. (The "Night Witches" for the nazis around the world).

Whenever I watch veterans of the Great Patriotic War (the USSR name for WW2) I always wish could tell what their medals represent.
A few, like Hero of the Soviet Union are easy to tell. But there are so many others!
And what is the criterion for placement. I note that the Hero medals are always worn at the top of the left pectoral, just below the collarbone.
The rest are a mystery but there certainly must be a protocol.
