  • An elderly, soft-spoken veteran recalls when she joined the Soviet Air Force’s first all-female bombing squad. She reminisces about her friend Katja, and how they made the best of their antique equipment, struggled with being ostracised from their male comrades, and earned the fearful German nickname 'Nachthexen'.

      in during the war II in the USSR there were women fighter Flying ace also: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lydia_Litvyak ; Also during the war II in the USSR there were women commander of the marine special forces: i.mycdn.me/i?r=AzEPZsRbOZEKgBhR0XGMT1Rk-lr86DVmAsvlqkUiJsW176aKTM5SRkZCeTgDn6uOyic this woman is a combat officer, not a staff officer, iduring the war II was three times seriously injured. Any screenwriter in Hollywood with envy will read the real story of this woman’s combat path: www.istpravda.com.ua/images/doc/a/3/a324fa6-4-1.jpg This unusual woman started the war in 1941 as a nurse, pulled more than 100 wounded soldiers from the battlefield ... She ended the war in Hungary in 1945 by storming against fortified castle that ordinary troops could not capture... So, the commander of troops called up a special forces detachment of this woman, who climbed into the castle through the sewer channel (!!!) ... It was a shock for the castle defenders! Also, the “appearance” with which the detachment appeared inside the castle, after the path to the sewers, was a shock for the
      castle defenders ...When the castle commander found out that the woman was leading the assault, he gave her his pistol ... (as in the old days they gave the winner a sword ! - This whole castle assault story is sad (death people), amazing and funny at the same time...After capturing the castle, the detachment of this woman went to wash, then, in the city near the castle, they found a perfume shop left by the owners, in which they found a lot of French perfumes, and poured it from the bottles into an ordinary bucket, and then after washing body in bathroom, they poured a bucket of perfume on head and the body in order to knock out the smell of sewage from memory ...... It was the last time in her life this woman used perfume because she was sick with only one memory of the castle's sewer and the subsequent perfume shop, avoiding any perfume shop in life.

    I hope more people see this diamond. Couple of facts and corrections, if I dare:
    -Book title and a poster at 1:08 make no sense: "a pod"? "a cell"?
    -There were no ostracizm from male comrades, as 588th reg. was *all*-female: not a single man on the list, even all the mechanics were female

    • @jbaltzer1743
      @jbaltzer1743 4 года назад +3

      Hi! Thank you for your comment, it really means a lot when people watch our film and enjoy it.
      Regarding your facts an corrections we enjoy those too and I have some clarification :)
      - The book titles and posters at 1:08 are our version of 'easter eggs' for our fellow graduation films from our school. So one of them was called 'Cell' (now called 'Stellar') and one (a game) was called 'Pod' and the poster shows the zombie from the film 'Less than human'. It was meant as a tip of the hat to our school, The Animation Workshop, and our class. And no one has ever picked up on it before!! So I'm thrilled that you caught it :D
      - And you are completely correct, the 588 consisted only of women (a male soldier tried to join for a few weeks but left after being (accidentally) sent female underware from the washers) but they trained at the same facilities and camps as the male soldiers and at the front they lived and worked side by side. So they interacted and where on multiple occasions discriminated, patronised or ostracised.

    discriminated? patronised or ostracised?
    This is a direct violation of the disciplinary regulations and is punishable under the laws of wartime
    Why insert this inflated feminism ( Yes, as the man did not give a lighter to the girl, by the way, there were matches )? Women were tank company commanders and were instructors in sniper schools for men and were respected by all
    Why didn't you show that you recruited women who already have experience in piloting ? Think for yourself why recruit young girls who have never managed flying equipment, when they need to be trained in the middle of a war ?
    I liked the animation very much

    It seems to have done about Russian women pilots, but this style is not expressive, very poor. If you wanted to do in the Soviet-style posters, then it did not work the authors. It looks like a Disney show.

    Soviet propaganda starts from the very beginning. Here is my first dislike in this year.

      Really? It's showing how the people of the Soviet Union thought at the time, this is by no means "Soviet propaganda".

      Oliver Enevoldsen yes, really. "we were neither men nor women; we were all the soviet people", posters with Stalin, etc. I know that at least one of my grandgrandpa joined the Red Army because he didn't want his kids to be "ememy's of the nation children". Short years or days of those who wasn't supporting "the Party line" was predictable.
      It shows how brainwashed people of those times thought. Unprepared mind might be influenced by all these.

      Exactly, you just agreed with what I wrote. It's showing how they thought at the time, and it's not suppose to be soviet propaganda. Why the dislike? I thought this was a great way of showing us how the soviets thought at the time.

      then when our children study soviet history at school it s called propaganda? XD

    • @AlexA-eg7gz
      @AlexA-eg7gz 7 лет назад

      Franck Nicolas , the mere fact of studiing something isn't a propaganda. But if their studiing consists of reading or watching soviet propaganda, in that case, this is a propaganda. "We were neither men nor women; we were all the soviet people", posters with Stalin, etc.
