Hi everybody! Somebody must have videos of this band - Eric, Aalon Alvin and Randy - playing the album "Sun secrets". Please, post it. It´s a service for rock and roll!!!!!!
This entire concert performance used to be posted here...some reason or another it was pulled..I saw the original broadcast in 1974...Was mind blowing good..
This concert changed my life in 1974. I'm in the process of getting the full story on this mysterious album called Mirage. Spoken to two of the participants and should be meeting up with them in the near future.
The reason this performance is not all here is because it's from Don Kirshner's Rock Concert. This performance gets posted from time to time and then some bean counting jerk who owns the rights gets it pulled down. Pretty stupid, in my opinion, since this performance is the reason to buy the package. You could not possibly know that Eric did this unless you saw it happen. If martianshoes is correct about the year, I was sixteen when I saw this performance broadcast. It took a minute, but pretty soon, I couldn't keep still. I had never seen anything like it. Sure, lots of bands played a bit hard, but nobody EVER rocked it like this. Imagine, 2015, and you could stack this performance up against modern performers and it would still stand up nicely. Heh. Did I say 'nicely?' First, if you've ever been on stage, you know those lights get hot as hell. Maybe if one day they go to LED stage lights, it will be different, but then, it was hot hot hot. You are risking your LIFE under those lights, and Eric just didn't care. The song was about blood and he gave it. I don't think the live crowd had ever seen anything like it either. This one performance made me a hard rock fan. Oh, I liked the Beatles and some of the other bands, but THIS was the stuff. This gut wrenching performance hooked me for life. Maybe Hendrix had the same feeling live, but of course there was no video then. Maybe a film of Woodstock that I would have been too young to attend. For me, this was it. Eric never got the recognition he deserved because he played all kinds of music, so the marketers had no idea how to handle him. It's still the same today, I guess. Anyway, before they yank this (again), I just want to say how much this meant to me. How influential this was on all my music choices for my whole life. Eric, if you ever read this, thanks man. You knew how to rock long before it was in fashion.
Rising Power - 5 years later, but I too came looking for this song not by accident. Also saw this on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert while in 9th grade. Actually I recorded it as I would many other bands and shows (like Kiss' debut / King Biscuit Flower Hour / Rock Concert), and my jaw dropped at the intensity and abandonment of the singer as well as the excellent musicianship of the band. I'm like who ARE these guys? And what is this song about?? Just like you are saying, it changed my entire outlook on music and what bands I'd listen to from that point. Throughout the years I'd seek this song out and now with this evil pandemic bringing the world to it's knees I really want to know what the lyrics are. I read somewhere it's about Vietnam but can't find them anywhere. Have you been able to?
Video is too dark, can't see much of anything and what's with those numbers on the video? Totally ruins it. I love Eric Burdon, he was 33 years old in this video.
one of greatist rock perfomances ever!
you could power the planet with the energy these cats put out there!
Incredible!
Fucking incredible! the best band Eric ever had....Aalon Butler on guitar is unreal...This has to be released on DVD!

I have mirage this is the best compilation of this great time in Eric's career, I think it's a bootleg but I'll take it .
This was taken from the best episode of "Don Kirshner's Rock Concert" ever. Eric Burdon & Foghat. Early 70's. Good times.
Aalon"s dance!
Saw this show in 74 on TV
Always wondered about the song title. Now I know. Took me 43 years to find out.
Anyone who saw this concert witnessed the greatest drummer that ever lived , you go Alvin Taylor, guaranteed.
I just bought his book! Interesting read!
Alvin Taylor is a god!
The Eric burdon of the early 70s was the best! I love this sound so much..
Aalon is just insane!
So badass... I love Eric's entire catalog, but this period is my favorite

This same ensemble recorded “Sun Secrets” but it was not nearly as good as this performance....

Superbe analyse que je partage à 100/100. Et la guitare d'Aalon Butler colle parfaitement à l'hystérie de cette chanson.

Oh I definitely don’t think he’s underrated!
Alvin Taylor on drums!
Alvin Taylor is a great drummer, killer on the STOP album.

I am guessing this is from either Saturday Night Special or Don Kirshner's Rock Concert?
DKRC
so bad it has the numbers and the letters in the middle.... :(
Sorry that the numbers are on screen, but I still watch it all the time! All of them are great musicians!
