Eric Burdon: "Gotta Serve Somebody" (Acoustic Live In Joshua Tree)

- To celebrate (and benefit) Amnesty International's 50th year advocating for human rights, an astonishing roster of artists from Adele to Ziggy Marley have all contributed their own interpretation of a Bob Dylan song. Many, like Pete Townshend and Lucinda Williams, give straightforward readings, while the likes of Rise Against and Queens of the Stone Age crank up the volume, and Elvis Costello and others get a little more experimental.
Eric Burdon, meanwhile, outfits "Gotta Serve Somebody" with a Bo Diddley beat. Google visited Burdon near his home in the desert of Joshua Tree, California, where he and his band treated us to a live version of the tune as the sun set behind them.

Eric Burdon is still kicking ass and taking names! He's quite possibly the coolest man around. And, damn, That Voice still moves me. Wow...
I love this song and I absolutely love this rendition by Eric. Too good man.
Great rendition of a good Dylan song that tells the truth!
God Bless Eric Burden! He survived the Rock n Roll excess of the Seventies. He used to be a drinking buddy of Jim Morrison and Alice Cooper.
Alice Cooper quit drinking and took up Golf and it saved his life. Jim kept drinking and moved to Paris.
Eric is still making music!
👏🏻🎸😎
The al-kehol paved a path to hell, sobriety brought me enlightenment. It’s your choice. I am free and enjoying life.
Eric Burdon is one of the coolest rock stars ever
I’ve always loved this song, but Eric Burdon singing it is my very favorite version of it. Same with 16 Tons. So grateful for this video.
I took my first date to an Eric Bourdon concert in Scranton, Pa.! She was a sweetheart, and we were both too young to go any further, but I still remember that. That may have been around 1969 or 70. Maybe 1971. It was a great concert, with the Animals, I believe.
Love you Eric.
This old fox will live for ever......... if not in this world, than at least in my heart.

Lovely to hear Eric Burden in such good voice and creating such a clever arrangement. I'm not sure about how innocent you were in Germany, though, Eric!
