    What i used to do for my daughter was to put magnetic paper dolls, sized down to fit a plastic bookmark sleeve and she would have a change of clothes on the back side and a few accessories. Every time she got a new bookmark it would have a new outfit only the bookmark itself would be like a dressmakers mannequin or a zoomed in dress shop window with a different mannequin in that one, and so on. Eventually it really became a full out book just for her to be able to have them all and try them all. I did 2 dolls because her best friend was this little adorable little black kid but he didn't want a boy doll so we made 2 girls 🤷 and they had the best outfits. His mom makes all sorts of wild accessories anyway so they always came back with crazy fun ideas to add to the dolls and his mom did a few of the book pages we made the kids that xmas. It totally got out of hand 😆 but i bet they're both tickled pink when i bust out with those books at the baby shower one day (they're only 13 right now tho. So no rush! 😆😆)

    I love to watch your video and you gave me a great idea for the kids when I return to pre-k class. I was wondering if this would work to put paper on both sides of the magnets. I have used adhesive backed magnetic sheet from MIchaels. I also would've loved for you to use the joy and either one of your cricuts. Again thank you for provoking new ideas.

    • @Bethadilly
      @Bethadilly  4 года назад

      Glad this inspired you! I wouldn't recommend placing paper on both sides, as it won't then magnetize as well to the page of the book. In my opinion, the magnetic sheets aren't strong enough to go through additional paper layers. But that is based on my opinion, with the sheets I am using. Hope this helps!

    • @rmm9110

    Did you try flipping the 'dud' magnet over? It might stick the other way, then you could cover the exposed magnets.

    • @Bethadilly
      @Bethadilly  4 года назад +1

      I didn't, but I just went to my little pile of bookmarks that I made and that original one that didn't work is now suddenly magnetizing just fine after I left it pressed together for a few days. Magnets can be so funny, but I'd still recommend my process of one on top, one on bottom just to be sure!

  • @jadornedesign4200
    @jadornedesign4200 4 года назад +1

    Very cute idea! Quick question, do you find the adhesive back of the paper that is in the gap (between the magnets) attracts lint, fluff or puppy hairs?

    • @Bethadilly
      @Bethadilly  4 года назад

      That's a great question and something I thought about, as well. I don't think it will be a huge problem because 99% of the time the magnetic will be closed and not laying open. Even when not in use, I find that mine are always closed. However, if you want (and if you are using adhesive backed magnets) you could always place a tiny strip of tape on that section before putting the magnets on the paper so it is no longer sticky. As always, you could also use regular paper without the adhesive as well!
