Yeah, like naming every player and telling us their background starting from when they were a paper boy, or from when they used to mow yards starting when they were 8, or from the time they caught their 1st fish when they were 5, etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc.
It's a sidearm game. Start your swing turn (downswing) with your lower body first, then let your shoulders and arms follow. Pull with your left, then release with your right. Never break the swing plane on the outside. Never let the club head get in front of your hands until impact (release). Maintain posture and body tilt. I was a 25 handicap my whole life. When I turned 50, I decided to get better. I started with a three word google search. "Golf Ball Strike". This lead me to Ben Hogan. I would watch him swing on youtube every night before bed. I would visualize his swing while falling asleep. I now shoot mid 70's regularly. I swing softer. I hit longer. My shots are consistent. I don't get tired. Im now 51.

Love this! We’re the same age and I’m looking to swing softer but get more distance. Been a very good athlete my entire life, through college and after. Work really hard on my golf game these days. Thx for the advice
I had a slice forever until I decided to let the club head do the work, losing the hyper aggressive swing. I just keep thinking “pendulum” through the back swing, stopped worrying so much about my inside elbow. Now my worst drive is a minor pull.

Intrigued by the comment, and understand how someone can feel it didn't fit. I had the opposite reaction. As we get to the Tiger swing, he in all black, with dark background, and probably my favorite swing with the finest finishing position, there was something dark and sinister about the music that just worked for me. I too dig the video and want to see more!

I love this video. I try to spend 6 minutes to watch it before heading out to every round.
I started watching Ben Hogan Swing videos before bed each night. I visualized his swing while I slept. I fixed my powerless casting swing in 30 days and took 20 strokes off my game. After one year, I went from a 25 handicap to about a 2.

Before everyone had cameras and internet, Golf Digest had a fold-out of the best players at every part of their swing. They all looked the same at the top. I copied them. It was great for my game. If you can look like these guys at the top of your swing, you can't help but play well. Of course we still have to putt. I sincerely hope your next round is your best. This game is more fun than a yard full of puppies!!

@kevin downman I also just started! Today I went to the driving range for the first time. I managed to hit the balls nearly everytime and managed to get the ball up very high and 50+ meters!

I`d say Rory or Dustin Jonson when it comes to driving. Tiger when it comes to approaching.

0:47 Phil is rolling his club face a lot through the impact which makes his ball striking less consistent. Phil is one the the greatest golfers of all time but his shots of the tee has never been his strong side. Fortunately his short game is some of the greatest ever seen.

I took up golf during the pandemic after bad mouthing it for a long time (I’m 47)… and though my swing looks nothing like these dudes’ beautiful shots, I’m fairly consistent and hit the ball way better than when I started and more accurately. I think that if I try to change it to this style or way, I might lose my accuracy and power just trying to correct. Don’t get me wrong, these are great, but what I do WORKS for me. It’s like kicking the soccer ball with my tip and I master it but it’s a no-no for most and almost all instructors will tell you not to do that.
Well eventually your bad habits will come and bite you.
There is a reason every pro has the same basic swing principles.
You are still very new to the game, I would work on perfecting form now, before ypur bad habits are really hard to break.

3:03 is the one that impresses me most
aaaa so at the top of my swing, to give me more turn, I flare out my right elbow which twists the club and in turn bows my left wrist and during my downswing I dont straighten it back.

If you wanna avoid slicing - Do like the tourpros and keep your hands steady, don't try to turn your wrists.

I’ve been playing tennis all of my life. Played golf with my brother for the first time recently and from a tennis player’s perspective, the traditional golf swing makes no sense to me. I never start a serve or a stroke with my wrist cocked back in tennis. It would take away from the rhythm and the whip effect that gives easy power. The Ju-Ju golf swing makes most sense to me. It’s the same way a pro tennis player produces rhythm, power and stability.
Let's not forget about some of the old time greats... Bobby Jones swing in the 1930's was simple but amazing... check him out on RUclips.. he has around 15 instructional videos..

The most rhythmic and classical golf swing is missing from this compilation, and I’m talking about Louis Oosthuizen!
If Louis only realised how good his swing and golf game is, he could possibly be the world’s No 1 player. He is way too laid back and doesn’t take his prodigious talent seriously!
Agree on the swing, but scoring in golf is way more complicated than the swing alone. If a pro misses just one putt per 9 holes that he should make, that can miss the cut, and it certainly means a far distance from victory. Unless you're on LIV tour though. That has changed things, on LIV you can pretty much play a scramble laid back style.
