From Carol's garden in Clairemont :>). Thank you all so much for your wonderful support and kind words. During the video, I didn't talk about how much Laura's videos really helped me; I told her when she first arrived but off camera. Laura is even nicer in person than she seems on the videos (which is really nice). She brought me her terracotta chicken and some Aloe dorotheae as a gift. I didn't have any and have never seen any for sale. WOW!!! Thank you Laura for all your videos. Wishing you all fun and "serenity" in your gardens.
Wow!what an amazing garden Carol! I’m slowly collecting plants and hope I can get mine to multiply so I have enough to do a nice big succulent coral reef!
Carol, what in inspiration! I wish I could have a garden like that. Western Pa is not a good home for plants like that. lol Keep up the great work. Enjoy your retirement. What a great way to spend it.
Carol! This is weird, but I think I lived near you at one point, before I was into gardening! I was 18-21 at the time and didn’t know anything about plants. In 2004 roughly. We lived on Gaylord, overlooking the 52! Amazing views. Your property setup just looks reminiscent of how ours did. Unless I’m looking at it wrong, and your backyard faces east! 🤣
@@carolkent1564 Carol, good tame of day.I really liked your garden.A year ago we moved from Ukraine to America.Plants are my love.In Ukraine,I had a lot of them. Some plants have been given into good hands, the rest of botanical garden .I lived in Kiev in front of the botanical garden. We live in Chicago.I’m slowly starting to buy plants. In winter I take all succulents at home .Eoniums it my dream .Thank you and Lora what do share your knowledge and beauty Beauty will save the world
That's my kind of gal...who said you have to pay thousands for such beauty. And amazing when you let the plants speak to you and let inspiration take over. So wonderful thank you for sharing 💜
I absolutely love that the best gardeners/designers always seem to be the ones with no formal education on the subject. Truly a work of art and a deed of love that exudes from people who really love and have the passion for it. There’s some God given talent and things other people pickup on that a formal education just can’t give to others. Carol, along with you Laura, are great examples of these type of people. Phenomenal garden, and it’s still a baby! Only two years in and she’s achieved so much. Great job carol! Thanks for making the world a more beautiful place.
WOW, WOW, WOW!! I just love Carol's yard. Total retirement goals right there. I love the wimsy of it all. Her hanging baskets everywhere are GORGEOUS. Thank you Laura for taking us on this tour. Carol has a true green thumb Great job Hannah capturing the hummingbird. So cute
How did I miss seeing this 2 yrs ago!!! So happy I was gifted with seeing this this morning. Thank you so much for being so generous with allowing us to see the splendor of your magnificent work of art that is your GARDEN!! ❤
Beyond remarkable!!! How in the world do you keep up with it all?!. It's positively a succulent Disneyland! Congratulations on such a brilliant space! I'm a bit overwhelmed with my much smaller spaces and fewer plants! You are indeed a living example of what is possible . . . but improbable for little ole me! 😁
Laura thank you for introducing us to Carol! OMG, Carol your creative eye in the development of your garden is outstanding. We lived in Mira Mesa from 1978-2021. And I started my love of succulents in 2016. Your property was made for your underwater succulent theme. It's just incredible. We retired and have moved back home to Arizona. We love being here so much. But my sedum clavatums, kiwis, ruby necklace, and some strings didn't survive here. But elephant bush, aloes, some sedums, parry agaves are doing great! But I can live vicariously through Laura's wonderful page. And being introduced to succulent lovers like you Carol and the woman in Mira Mesa. Thank you both for sharing your incredible succulent heaven. A most delightful 22.19 minutes.
YOWZA! What a gorgeous garden dreamscape! The colors! The textures! The variety! I’m in total awe, Carol. I know this must give you, your family & friends so much joy to see. And I’d never heard of getting rocks and plants via Craig’s List! So beautiful. Thank you for letting Laura share it with us.
I’m in Andalucia Spain and absolutely love your garden, it’s inspired me so much. Now I need to decide which project I’m going to do first. I have started but need to find out which succulents I can successfully grow because so far I have lost some plants due to the heat. I wonder if I need to water more. Thank you and keep on enjoying your garden. Thank you Laura, as always you fill me with so much enthusiasm. Good luck in your new home.
Ann Margaret, thank you for your kind words. Succulents are so forgiving in most cases so if you catch them when not looking good, you can move them to another location. I have lost some plants also and as a follower of Laura's, you know she looses some too. Hope this helps you to keep gardening even with some loses. Hugs, Carol
Unbelievable how Carol was able to create this garden in 2/3 years. Really nice. It’s amazing to me how well everything has grown so fast. Thank you for sharing your beautiful garden Carol. Thank you for sharing this tour Laura. So fun to see others creative ideas.😍❤️🌵
Very original. Loved the tour! Edit- Laura, I hope the McKinney Fire stays away from your house. Be safe. The NorCal air quality was above 250 earlier this afternoon. I'd stay away & save your lungs.
What a phenomenal garden! You'd never guess from looking at it that it was so new. Carol, never has there been a garden I have seen where the ornaments are more appropriate - there is nothing contrived or kitsch about your tchotchkes!!! What a blessing to be able to muck around in this space every day. Just beautiful!!! ☺
What a stunning garden! With as much time as Carol spends on it, no wonder it is so beautiful! A true labor of love!❤ Thank you Laura for bringing us on this amazing tour, and thank you Carol for inviting us to your home and sharing your spectacular garden with all of us!
