HUGE MAINTENANCE IN CLAIREMONT. THIS MAY BE DIFFICULT TO WATCH.

- It’s been two years since my clippers touched this garden!
Our clients postponed maintenance in anticipation of a home project that didn’t end up happening.
The plants are thriving but some are WAY out of control.
No worries, though.
Team DFS to the rescue.
Cannot believe all that was done in a day!! I thought for sure it would be 3 days. It looks fantastic - I am envious of the climate there which is so conducive to thriving succulents. Also, glad you and Team DFS are back on the radar and that the absence was for something good and nourishing. Can’t wait to see what’s next!!
So cool that the neighbor decided to share that little space for new plants!🥰👌🏽👌🏽👏🏽
Thanks for showing us the process of moving the pachypodium 👏🏻
Love the idea/combo of aloes hugging the golden barrel. Different texture and shapes come together. And about those snails, they probably had rough situations and decided to end their lives all together😅😅
I love the new placement of the Pachypodium, it looks perfect! I’m amazed how in one day you all managed to give these garden areas a restorative face lift! Night and day!
Beautiful just beautiful !!
The gutters are SO pretty with their pastel colours .
I am envious of the copper spoons .
I have one small plant that never does anything !
Thankyou from Australia ☀️🌵🪴🌸🦋
What a difference!!!!!!! The orange tree looks fabulous now. The DFS team worked its magic on this maintenance project! 💚🌵💚 Glad you are ok. Howie and I were getting concerned. 🙏
Laura, when I grow up, I want to be just like you! Not talking about age here but about maturing into a gardener with the knowledge, wisdom and faith to "trust the process". This winter, with all the rains (zone 10b inland San Diego), I've been repeatedly relocating or covering pots to protect my "babies". It feels very neurotic to worry about plants so much, especially after years of growing carefree CA/southwest natives, which ask nothing of me once established.
Thank you so much for the inspiration and instruction. I will get my succulents in the ground some day! 🙂
For anyone living a colder climate the Crassula sarcocaulis is hardy down to -12C or 10F
The effulgent growth of the plants in this garden leads to a new name: Designs for Satiety! Close to SF Bay on east side, we can only dream of such vigorous growth!
I love to see Hannah wearing her safety yellow crocs while attacking a giant pachypodium 🐊
What an interesting re-vamp- & T Y Hannah for the fine camera work so smoothly following L ‘s tour-around!
I can’t imagine the pressure of having to put out a video everyday. Glad you took some time for yourself! Maintenance videos are my favorites 😊
I wish you could show us a more detailed video of your cleaning up of the large pots on the side of the house. Living in south eastern Florida all my succulents must be in pots.
Laura you were missed but you have earned any break you want to take ! & Team you guys are amazing and this property has been one of my favorites! Well done!!
I love seeing how vigorous some of these succulents grow! These maintenance videos are amazing!!!
Those plants are huge! Sure needed a whip and a chair!!!! 💚💚💚
Nice and clean the corner of the neighbors property looks much better now. Good job.
OMG Laura! I could do my entire front yard with just the trash from that beautiful prolific garden. I am in Nor Cal, if you ever want to mail a box of thrash this way I'd be overjoyed to pay for it! 😆
You are so right that it is hard for some of us to watch these clean ups 🥺
👍💪🤗
Hahaha!! You are hilarious!!!!! I laughed out loud about the snail carcasses in the ball cactus and if they all made a suicide pact! 😂
It was a pleasure to watch the before and after. Gave me motivation and inspiration to tackle mine. Your family and team are marvelous.❤
It always looks so much better when the team has had a go. The argentea sunset looks golden and loved it. Loved the gutters
Can't agree on that. Front locken better before
Glad you got to have some down time.
FYI, if the client gets intense sun, they may need to paint the trunk of the citrus trees white, now that you have exposed them to sunlight.
So fun watching the team shift the pachypodium!
Looks a lot better you can now see the plants great job as always
Ugh! Run~a~muckie! 😢 Laura you will make it 🎉” Design for serenity”! 😍❤️🌵Looks so much better ****** 😊 Nice!
I think that's the end of that Pachy...they are very touchy being moved. Good luck!
You’re right those plants are on crack, even the neighbor’s on the other side of the fence. They look huge!
What happened with the espalier of the apple tree in the back right corner? The orange tree looks great now, but I couldn’t see what was done with the apple. Also, I was kind of hoping to see a mangave or two go into the front yard. I wish I could have such luck growing portulacaria - mine here in northern California just sits there and pouts, refuses to grow despite the location in my yard. And, yes, it was painful to see the removal of the pedilanthus bracteatus, since I recently paid $50 for three one-foot rooted stalks at a local nursery!
Think I'm learning the most from your maintenance vids. What you did here really showcases the plants colors, shapes, heights, leaves, stems, and flowers.
Beautiful work. Love it
So colorful, and beautiful plants in that garden 👍
Wow can’t believe you did this in a day!! 🤩 Looks so good. Good for you for taking a break…enjoy your game!! 💜
I’m always willing to see your videos but take a rest is exhausting having a one day video!! Love u
wow! TEAM DFS and Laura for the win! like magic! what a difference a day makes, eh? moving that pachy was a beast! impressive team work all 'round... congratulations on a great job!! glad to hear you were just taking some well-deserved time to chill; i was a little worried but figured you'd come back to us soon, lol... 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Wow! So many plants 🪴
Was great to see you, and the team. Beautiful yard, great job 🥰😍
Glad you took time for yourself. Wonderful inspiration in this maintenance. Great work by the team.
Such a nice subtle difference. I have to lace my jade. In the past I haven't done a good job so I hope this year goes better.
No plant saucers in winter will help save your succulents and other plants from rot.
Amazing transformation.
We miss you n your team mama succulent. Where have you been?
Can't believe you did that in a day! I have sunset crassulas that I picked up as cuttings when you were doing maintenance on that garden -- 4 years ago? Are there any cuttings looking for a new home? I'm thinking we should plant crassula cuttings on the sides of Balboa in that area where there is a mud or weedy space between fence properties and the sidewalk. The crassula hedges in that garden are wonderful -- even if they are on steroids from daily water.
Looks great!
wow that looked like a huge job!
Gutters are my favorite 😍
Lol! I’m one that has to bring my plants in the garage in the winter🥲🥲
Love the pac! ❤
Interested to see focus on plants. Didn't get up close enough on this one. Would like to see more of the "major edits" mentioned.
Great translation, but I wish I could have seen the actual work being done!
15:32 check out the neighbor's foxtail. Jeez
amazing
I have a large agave/aloe type cactus which is about 2 feet tall, with a very bare truck of about 1feet and leaning badly. It is in a pot & I have to prop it up against a wall to stop it falling over. Would it be ok to chop it off it’s tall leggy truck and plant the head of the agave back into the ground please?
How did you get the Pacypodium to stand without supports? It must be very top heavy!
You can still espalier that tree. Def
Omg that rootball on the pacy was too small for that size plant. That was hard to watch you guys butchered the roots!
7:48 my neighbor has these fire plants that grow through pockets in my fence. Are these plants dangerous?
Seems like the owner wasn't willing to pay you enough
🙋
gadget break try taking a bike ride and see the difference 🤗 🤗
Patience Laura. Take the time to just slow down and breathe. You are human, not a machine. I don't know how the algorithm for RUclips works. Seems like a recipe for burnout.
