Those are some sweet looking wheels, I like all the lightening holes. ABW just quit making the ultralight versions of the Airstreaks I heard, they were 12 pounds lighter a pair then the stock Airstreaks, and for the Euro market I believe.
Kevin Camp thanks, I’m very likely buying an unbuilt 2012 Highlander kit that has fiberglass tanks and will be replacing them with aluminum, either the factory $1800 set, or of my own making. I figured if they seal them that would be a sign of less then ideal welding by their builder. Just trying to gauge the quality I’d be getting for my 💵.
quick build wings, wings set to fuselage, front lower cockpit tabs for windows, rear cockpit tabs for rear side windows, elevator push pull tube points welded under floor, bushings welded on landing gear mounting points, super stol tail wheel suspension, tundra lite tail wheel, beringer wheels/axles/brakes, alaskan bushwheels, shock monster shocks and landing gear legs, wing extensions, custom aileron leading edge, leading edge cuff, it will be covered in oratex fabric, most likely have an almost all glass panel, and be powered by a yamaha apex (hopefully turbocharged)
you have items that are not listed in the regular kit. im asking which items are options. example is the beringer brakes an option or the landing gear is it an option.
@@MrBarbusterSome of those options I did not purchase from the factory and I sourced myself to save a little money. But all of those are available from either the factory or Wild West Aircraft. You wont find a list of them anywhere. I learned about all of them by talking to Steve Henry.
@@MrBarbuster Im at about $50,000 for eveything you see in the videos so far. I still havent puchaced paint, fabric, firewall forward equipment, turbo, instruments/avionics, and interior finishes. Any modification avalable to make this airplane a better bushplane/competition plane I am doing. I am expecting the entire build to cost somewhere around $100,000. The biggest determining factor on final build cost is the turbo. I dont know how much it will cost because it hasnt come out yet.
Love watching your build! Please upload as much as you can along the way!
I am enjoying your build videos. Thanks for posting them!

How well-balanced are they?
I have not put them on a balancer yet. I can let you know when I do that.
@@kevincamp189 Thanks, I just ordered a set of 26s today
Kevin, do you know if the aluminum fuel tanks Just provides with kits are slosh coated internally?
I have no idea..... my guess would be no.
