If you go past the deadline, they will only refund for store credit. I bought their military flat car set that were missing coupling pins. They had another set in stock and swapped them out, no questions asked with my receipt. They probably don't have that engine in stock, though. I've seen other guys reach out to them with a bad set of trucks on a tank car, and he was sent a complete set of all metal trucks they use on their box cars. For some reason they only use the Lionel style metal trucks and couplers on their box cars.
They are a large company, and customer satisfaction should be number ONE! I would reach out and explain you just got around to testing it and it needs to be replaced. I received a box car with a broken axle, they said just put it back in, I said send me a return shipping label! They did...

Flip it upside down in a cradle or equivalent then attach one wire from your power pack to the center rail, I use alligator clips , then turn the power up and touch the wheels to get the loco running with another wire. With a good light you can see all the wheels turning. At first look it seems that one of the traction tires may have a dip in it . I have taken very light sandpaper and while the loco is running then push down on the traction tire wheels to smooth them out. If that doesn’t help my next guess would be the axles as you have pointed out may have loosened up or are bent and now have too much slop or just bent but idk…. Try the loco in the opposite direction and see what it does that way . If it is the same then i would prob just swap it for another loco ……
I must be a special type of person, but if I spent $150 I’d be calling Menards and having this taken cared of. You are entitled to get what you paid for.
Iv had trouble with the alen screw coming loose that holds trucks to motor ul start hearing a scweeking sound when this happens tighten up screw and its good they do have over 200 in stock for shipping to store if u can take that one back

hey there, I don't know if you have the turnout switches powered by track or straight to power supply ... if you are running the switches off power supply power and not track power don't park the trains on the switch it will cause problems ... just letting ya know don't want you to burn up your switches ... have fun and great job
I own a Lionel Alco FA from 1993 that does the same thing. Heard it's a common issue with those. I just live with it. Enjoyed the vid!
@@chrisresor1893 thank you for the information that’s probably going to be the outcome
