      @Invictus - thank you. We have nothing to hide - so we don't bother with smoke and mirrors. We expect our customers to obtain 100% of the gains we show. All we ask is that they follow our testing guidelines and understand that the only way they will receive complete results is to install the complete S2B package.

      @@BrockDavidson you remind me of a car tuner from back in my younger days. It's nice to see honest guys are still out there delivering on their word. Maybe one day, after the warranty runs out, I'll drop off my '18 s1000rr for you to work your magic on. Do you, or anyone you know, do head work on bikes and custom cams to match the new flow characteristics of said head? Just wondering, since i don't see that area covered much in the bike world that i currently reside in.

    The rich AFR was measured in wich conditions ?
    with filter ?
    with airbox ?

    • @BrockDavidson
      @BrockDavidson  6 лет назад

      Rich afr condition was no airbox or air filter. Final results were with P08, stock airbox and stacks - would have made a bit more with the P08 F1-85... but we were out of stock :(

    • @michaelovitch
      @michaelovitch 6 лет назад

      So i can tell you that the AFR was too rich because the lack of air filter airbox stacks etc..
      The airflow quality was inferior because of the designed whole intake system was missing parts.
      A laminar,clean, airflow is difficult to get with the square edges just above the butterlflies , where are supposed to be the bell mouths / stacks.
      Since the bike in not in closed loop it's rich.

    My friend had a car repair shop.. His Brother bought a bunch of diagnostic computer readers for Ford Chrysler and GM My friend asked why did you by for GM all you need is a paper clip?
    I bought a Ford 800 Truck in OR 250 HP 3209 Cat Diesel with small turbo .. I changed the oil had extra fuel filters with .me.. it had been sitting for a long time but only had 49,000 miles on it. I inspected the air filter and thought it looked OK .. It did smoke I was in OR CA high altitudes it smoked a lot .. When I got back to MI I realized the air filter was really clogged it really made me sick to realize how much extra fuel I burned do to dirty air filter..
    Unleaded gas burns cleaner .. but most all gas is E-10 which I thought keeps engines way cleaner ..
    A dishonest repair shop could charge big $$$ for the improvements a new air filter could make.. K&N air filters simply don't work on dirt bikes the sad goes right through them .. Also with out and air box water rain or snow will drowned your engine .. Now days you can buy a really fine mesh screen from Outerwear .... to keep the water even water vapor from entering .. the filter and engine .. I had always seen Outerwear advertised in dirt bike magazines.. I needed to keep the air vents from clogging in my snowmobile and wanted t purchase some of their material .. is very expensive comes from Germany I think ..
    When I went to call them I noticed they had a local phone number.. Turns out they are in Schoolcraft Mi 8 miles from me and I went to school with their accountant..
    I was trying to get more power out of my snowmobile the air box seems restrictive and is warm under the hood.. So I put a K&N air filter in the nose of the sled which has holes drilled with outerwear material lets air in but not snow .. and the K&N has an outerwear sock of course I used about 2" aluminum tube and ran filtered air into the air box.. seat of pants tells me I gained HP .. also a 4 degree offset key way advanced my timing helped my cursing mpg the most..
    Polaris has some two stroke snowmobiles with a timing switch for premium or 87 Octane gas.. some times you just can't find Premium on the trails .. seems like a great idea to me ..

    What's good Brock? I noticed @ 7:12 when you were showing the C00 code that the dash mark was in the lower position. I recall you mentioning the dash mark was telling where the TPS was positioned in another video. Does that mean the TPS is closed more than it should be? As far as air filters go, humans don't have filters, but if too much dirt gets in our noses or throat, you will cough or sneeze. With any used vehicle, time it to stage 0 first, then upgrade🏆

    • @BrockDavidson
      @BrockDavidson  Год назад +1

      @P.E.1 you are correct on the dash mark being in the lower area, but it didn't matter in this application because we used the PCV to calibrate the TPS. When done in this manner, the position on the dash takes a back seat and the PCV is the king of telling the ECU that no gas is 0% and WFO is 100%.

    Brock great video! Actually like this better than the Stock to Brock series. It’s more relatable to my bike. Plus I seen you added a new package to the site based off this bike. Do some mapping for the GSXR 1000 K9. I already have a full system from you and a PCV with your street map but I changed my gearing -1/+1, added BMC Race filter, and added the Haltech TRE box but the bike is as this customer said slow (Dyno SAE 165)!!! I’m at the point where I’m going to get a custom tune for my current setup. Your customer service team said that I shouldn’t but I know the bike has way more power hidden in it! What do you recommend? Thanks!

      If you are stock wheelbase, you will need to remove 1 or two teeth from your rear sprocket. This will decrease torque to the rear wheel to allow you to get to WOT sooner with fewer wheelies. Of course, lengthening your wheelbase would help much more and possibly allow you to go the opposite direction with your gearing to aid acceleration. At your weight, the bike naturally tries to wheelie out from under you, compared to a lighter rider. Hope this helps. BD

    • @BrockDavidson
      @BrockDavidson  4 года назад

      This bike had 'drag' gearing for quicker acceleration for use with the extended swingarm, which works great for drag but limits max top speed. Most of today's bikes are speed limited by the ECU to 186 MPH (300 KPH), what many don't realize is they are also gearing limited to this speed, or slower. This means that to obtain full race performance and top speed - both areas must be addressed. We use a gearing calculator to calculate top speed after the ECU restrictions are disabled. This one works well: www.gearingcommander.com/

    Seeing 176hp from a stock engine 1000 is impressive.
    So what about my bike? Lol
    I have an 06 GSXR 750
    45,000 miles(geared probably closer to 40,000)
    I'm curious as to what would be realistic hp goals for this bike on pump gas? All it has now is a K&N with a slip on. Planning to throw on some 1000 headers for the weight loss and hp gains if it would help...
    I had looked into the Sprint filters, but they only offer the old style for my bike and it looks just like my K&N, so IDK if there would be any gains had there or not.
    Anyways I plan to get it dyno tuned this summer and I was curious as to what numbers you've seen out of 750s? The most I've seen or heard of with full exhaust is around 128hp.
    Anyways thanks again for all the great videos and help with answering all my many questions. If I lived closer I would bring it to you to throw on the dyno.

    • @BrockDavidson
      @BrockDavidson  5 лет назад +1

      @WRIGHTRACING - Glad you are enjoying our channel. Be wary of installing a 1000 header on your 750 as the increased hedpipe tube diameter can lead to a serious lack of bottom end and mid range power...something those bikes don't need to lose. If you have a K&N street filter, there is a good chance your OEM paper filter makes more power (not bashing, just speaking from comprehensive testing over the years). 125 HP (SAE scale) is good for those bikes - 140 is possible, but you need to get into the engine. As a smaller engine with higher miles, the first thing we would do is run the Wynn's Power charge through your bike, to clean up the engine deposits, then we would add Alisyn 0w-20 and Petron. Those items alone can make a large performance difference in a 750. The rest would be proper product selection (pipe/performance filter/tune etc...) Best of luck!

      @TEAMWRIGHTEOUS 5 лет назад +1

      @@BrockDavidson good info to know on the air filter and headers.
      So I'm assuming that the Sprint street filter is much better even than the K&N as well then? I'm all for comprehensive test results 😁
      So when it comes time to hit the dyno, I will definitely do a Wynn power charge clean on the bike before then. I may look into the air filter change next and then when I hit the dyno, hopefully we can test both headers and see what the results show. Also planning to test a few slip ons. When I get the time I definitely want to video it to show the results of the changes that we make and what helps and hurts.
      Thanks again for the rapid response. Hopefully we can get this done this year. Lol.

    In your experience, is there a certain age or mileage when bike start to lose power and would u recommend that everybody dyno's their bike in a certain time period-say once a year or every two years for example?

    Howzit Brock, I love your vids! I just had my k5 1000 ecu flashed and dynoed here in South Africa. Only mods are a BMC filter and a yoshi tri-oval slip on. I got 154bhp . Are these decent numbers? Or is there anything I should look at?

    Hi Brock! ive watched your gsxr tuning series, and i just want to know did you have encountered very lean in some gear at x rpm and x tps and good afr in another gear at same x rpm and x tps? thanks Brock !

    • @BrockDavidson
      @BrockDavidson  5 лет назад

      Yes, the ECU fueling is adjusted lean in the cruising ranges per gear for cleaner emissions. The tp and rpm will naturally differ per gear at a given speed, etc...

    Question regarding the 2024 Gsxr 1000R. I'm in traction control setting 5 in A mode and I'm popping wheelies in second, third, and fourth gear, not sure how to control it. Guys I ride with.. we start off with a few smack downs, second gear 65 miles an hour for approximately 10-15 seconds in a straight, just can't figure it out regarding the wheeling.

    I've been watching your videos for about a month or so, I really like your approach to performance gains. I'm in the market to buy a bike over the winter or in the spring, doesn't really matter new/used with low miles. Is the 2017+ GSXR1000 still your pick for bang for buck or would you suggest some other year/brand/etc.? Thanks!

    • @BrockDavidson
      @BrockDavidson  4 года назад

      There are many choices available in the 1000cc class. We have had good luck with the R1, ZX-10R, BMW and Gixxer. So far, we have gone quickest/fastest on the Gixxer and it's the bike to beat from our stable at the moment. As far as bang for buck with a new bike, it's tough to beat IMO. If you are looking at used bikes, the older s1000rr's and ZX-10r's are excellent choices also.

    Curious about the 89 vs 93 octane comment at the end. Do you have to tune for 93 octane? How about ethanol free fuel? Sure would like to bring in my V-strom for a check.

    • @BrockDavidson

      We would leave them out and tune the bike accordingly - the only issue you might have without them is accidental neutral protection.

    Hi Brock! I'm very impressed from your guides and after watching this video I did some clean up with Wynn's Xtreme Petrol Cleaner and the result was beautiful. Too bad I'm from UK and I can't bring my GSXR L1 1000 to you so you can tune it properly. The some of the previous owners of my bike did something to the secondary throttle valves and I can't fugure out what. They don't have stock oem behaviour like in the service manual, but they behave exactly as these in this video part 14:40. Why they don't make initial check cycle when the ignition key is turned ON? Please can you share what you did to the secondary throttle valves on this bike if it's not a secret because I'm just trying to understand the history of mine and the previous owner can't help me, because he bought the bike like this. One thing I'm woried is that the fast idle, which is controlled by the secondary throttle valves is no longer supported with this function. Is it a problem and should I andjust something?

    • @BrockDavidson
      @BrockDavidson  5 лет назад

      @Deyan Dimitrov - glad you like our series. If you mean the 2001 GSX-R1000 (K1 here in the US) the bike has minimal restrictions. The secondary blades are left in place for smoother operation, or removed entirely (requires slight fuel remapping). if you do not have a check FI light, your bike should be fine. Please check this FAQ about the need to bring your bike here for tuning: blog.brocksperformance.com/faq/do-i-need-to-physically-bring-my-bike-to-brocks-performance-in-ohio-for-a-performance-tune/

    suprised yto see the strap is right on top of the exaust outlet

    • @BrockDavidson
      @BrockDavidson  5 лет назад

      It's an optical illusion from the camera angle. They melt and break almost instantly if located directly in front of the exhaust outlet. FYI: This bike is very close because of the extreme length of the swingarm which moves the bike away from the dyno's tie down hooks.

    But Brock what of that TPS SENSOR reading when u had the paper clip in is it there a not in the middle for some reason

    • @BrockDavidson
      @BrockDavidson  4 года назад

      The TPC can be manually adjusted when in dealer mode (paper clip installed) buy it can also be easily calibrated in the PCV also. This will assure the scale from 0% to 100% Throttle is correct.

    • @BrockDavidson

      It's a McIntosh swingarm. Unfortunately, they have gone out of business. Try DME Racing.

      @Davey T, not really practical for what we do these days. mail in or hand held is the preferred solution for most. Some tune directly via 3rd party...it's inexpensive and gets the job done.
