Thanks....i dont have any babies but i was curious about getting this to cook healthy meals for me. However your video showed me that i could use my existing steamer and blender to do the same thing!...your device is cute and all in one tho nut its almost $200.

Absolutely, this is the best way to thin the puree.

Everything in this video came with it, but this was years ago so they may have changed the design.
Great video, thank you!! If I wanted to add breastmilk as the liquid instead of the liquid that comes from steaming, could I do that?
Yes you can use any liquid to thin the puree! This is a great idea!
If you're adding breastmilk to the baby food for the nutritional value, I would say maybe make sure the steamed food is cooled down before adding breastmilk, since too high a temperature can destroy the nutritional value of the breastmilk.
Also, if breastmilk is added to the food, I would think it's probably a good idea to now treat your baby food like you would handle breastmilk (not heating it up too warm, using fresh milk so you're not refreezing the milk when/if you freeze the food, food spoilage, etc.)
Are those removable compartment dish washer safe ?
I washed them all in my dishwasher without a problem!
Did you ever run into any problems with the top of the hot plate having white spots you can't remove kind of like it's peeling??? I already received a replacement o fthe main steamer but it just developed again. I have been using a large baby bottle steamer+dryer for 3+years and that things hot plate is still going strong no blemishes whatsover, any ideas??

I’m confused.. do you add the water for steaming on the bottom part that comes attached? Or on the one that you put on before the steamer??
Directly in the bottom so it can heat - but don't forget to put in that piece in the bottom after you add the water so that it can catch the cooking water which you can use to thin the puree. If you forget to put that in then the cooking water drips back down into the heating area and then you have to clean it out.
Do you have to steam before you blend ? Or you can blend whenever you want without steaming ?
You can blend soft foods like bananas or something like that, but you need to cook most things in order for them to be soft enough to blend.
FTM so sorry if this is a dumb question. Why do you need to steam fruits such as apples and peaches? They’re ready to eat just purée them. Am I missing something?
Ha ha well it depends how smooth you want that puree I guess! I always steamed them a bit. But i guess it's not entirely necessary.
What are the 1 2 3 settings for is the 1 setting for more soft puree 2 for tiny bits puree and 3 for chunky or do i have it reversed lol
I can't remember exactly but it's definitely one of those 2! One is for more smooth blending the other leaves it chunkier.

How do you know for how long you should leave the food …. :)
When cooking it I usually just poked it with a fork to check for doneness. If cooking something harder like carrots and something softer like apples, i put the carrots on the bottom so they were closer to the steam.
Is it definitely ok to steam chicken and other meats in this? If so, does the meat have to go in the bottom or top? Can I steam meat and veg together? The instructions are so confusing
I would assume so as long as you check the temperature of the meat.
