Fantastic tent. Any chance you can add two more poles to the wedge side to gain a lot more space plus a full 360 panoramic view? Maybe, this can be another model and the weight increase would be minimal. Perhaps, you can even offer new fabric to the existing Superlite so that those folks can "upgrade" down the road should they want to do so.
I’ll take two, very nice. My only concern is the clasp on the “trekking pole” supports. How much snow on the roof before that slides and I wake up in a cold panini press? Haha

Will this tent be a good fit on a Prinsu roof rack that I am installing on my Lexus GX 460? Do I need extra brackets or bars? What's the reason behind wrapping the hardshell with fabric, and I would imagine the hard shell is sturdy -- other brands have their shells exposed
Saw someone did not take off the plastic wrap from it being shipped and it warped the shell itself. I would think the fabric would protect it for the long term. They are pretty much all from China rebranded. This one looks well thought out and durable though definitely leaning towards this design and company specifically.

Do you guys offer any way to lock the rooftop? I'd like to see lockable latches in addition to locking the mounting mechanism itself. As far as I know Yakima is the only manufacturer that makes a locking mount for their soft shell, but CVT has locking latches for their hard shell.

Overall length is 90” but max. height person who can comfortably sleep in this is about 5’-6”. If you’re 5’-9”, your head and feet hit both ends, uncomfortably. This guy looks like he’s at least 6’-0”, and we don’t see him lay down in it… Again, I love the simplicity, but it needs to pop up about a foot somehow on the short end (maybe a simple fiberglass “stagecoach”style double leaf spring). That would allow folks, probably up to 6’-4”, to sleep comfortably. Honestly, it’s a bit lame of GFC not to spec this incredibly important information. Sleeping bag companies and ground tent companies do. 90” is worthless if only 68” are usable. Good idea, but a massive fail.

Hi Michael, I have a Gobi Stealth rack on a 5th gen 4Runner. If you have the rack version with a light bar riser in front, there may be issues with opening the tailgate all the way. I picked up Gobi's Elevation crossbars so that the tent sits above the riser and forward enough to avoid tailgate issues. The tent will sit higher on the roof...but I wanted to be able to open the tailgate all the way. I haven't received my Superlite RTT yet, but the math checks out. One benefit to the elevation cross bars is that you can leave the RTT on the bars with easy on/off mounting access on the sides (instead of squeezing your hand under the rack for mounting). Hope this helps!
So, Whats the real price with shipping and taxes etc.? And will it ever be really released or its just another ”coolest, best, cheapest, lifechangeing” project to be real product ”SOON”. sorry ,but my scepticism is based on tons of videos ,about products to be,and never heard or seen of after year or so.
The price is clearly listed on our website and varies based on options that you choose with your tent. The shipping is based on location and stated clearly. Feel free to come by our shop and check the tent out in person we'd love to show you and answer any questions!
So, Went to your site, its over 2000+$ whole set with matress, ladder and mounting kit + 12% import fee,+24% tax...and i didnt get to shipping yet...how its cheaper than any aluminium ,low profile clamshell set with ladders and mattresses and mounting kits-. Looks to me its more fragile and with hidden fees for mounting kits,matress,ladder....good luck guys,no offence but ,little bit pricy for ”cheap”
Hi Mason - we haven't done that. I'd be concerned about the length. It's certainly possible from a mounting standpoint but I think it would be too long on most trucks.
If it was purposely given 3 more inches to allow bedding to remain in place i think it would be a hit. I LOVE the simplicity but those of us that want simple also want to leave bedding because we're lazy and also want to save time.
This looks GREAT but I'm a little bummed the tent doesn't have length options. Probably an unpopular opinion, but 90 Inch length is quite long especially given that the average height in America is 5 foot 9. With the lightweight this would be great for shorter wheelbase rigs but this is pretty much a no go. The overhang would be dramatic (wind drag) not to mention the aesthetic ruined. Just curious what the rationale was behind 90 inches in length? Any thought on offering a shorter RTT (ala james baroud 79, cvt, autohome 83)?
Still planning on getting a rack system on top for surfboard and sup? Will the top panel be strong enough to install rails like the bottom track mounting. Thanks

This is a great option for an affordable RTT, very clever, and no fuzz product. Only thing is that an awning over the back door is missing...That would have been a nice touch, just sayin'.
Thanks for the feedback Alain, We didn't think it needed one. The whole concept of Superlite is stripping everything down to its core values to make you the lightest, strongest, and cheapest tent possible. Everything you need and nothing you don't. ✌
@@GFC I will definitively keep an eye on it as soon it is available. I just canceled my $$$ aluminum RTT purchase...You have a game changer on hand. :-)
@@alainmessier4565 Thanks! We think so too. You can put a pre-order on our website now. if you want.

I am 98% sold.... I just have to ask one question. Will it eventually come in another color? I live in packer country and with a green vehicle, I don't need to look like I'm going to the game every time I go camping. 😂😂🤘
A few people have asked about color options but we are sticking to the golden yellow. It's awesome and once you see it in person, I think you'll change your mind! Now that being said, you may actually have the most compelling reason we've heard for color options. 🤣
@@GFC I was afraid you'd say that, the worst part about it all, I'm not even a baseball fan..... Or is it football, I always get those confused. 🤣🤘
What do you guys think of this for a 2 door JK Wrangler? Is this too long?
I'd email support@gfcengineering.com for an overhang diagram. But it will work.
Is there an infinite rubber hinge between the upper and lower panels within the PIB?
Hey Austin - shoot us an email for detailed design info. support@gfcengineering.com
How tall of a person can lay up there? I worry about foot clearance at 6'2"
6'2" or 6'3" is about the max. We address this in the video that we'll have up next week!
What wheels are those?
Whats the cost of the replacement tent going to be?
We don't have pricing on that just yet. We don't intend any replacement will be necessary anytime soon. Just wanted to let you know that it's modular so we will be able to offer spare part replacements if/when necessary. Shoot us an email for more info support@gfcengineering.com
Hi @GoFastCampers, can you reach out to me about the shipping and import tax to EUROPE? Thanks!
send us an email at support@gfcengineering.com and we will get you sorted. 🤘
How do you keep someone from stealing it when you're away ?
Hey Sharon, Refer to our FAQ Video here ruclips.net/video/t4Bg39SoOmw/видео.html and go to 8:16 How can I lock the Superlite? ✌
Will it work on a gobi roof rack on 3rd gen 4Runner! I would like to order.
Hey Michael! I don't see why not, but email support@gfcengineering.com just to be sure. 🤘
So,
Whats the real price with shipping and taxes etc.? And will it ever be really released or its just another ”coolest, best, cheapest, lifechangeing” project to be real product ”SOON”. sorry ,but my scepticism is based on tons of videos ,about products to be,and never heard or seen of after year or so.
The price is clearly listed on our website and varies based on options that you choose with your tent. The shipping is based on location and stated clearly. Feel free to come by our shop and check the tent out in person we'd love to show you and answer any questions!
So,
Went to your site, its over 2000+$ whole set with matress, ladder and mounting kit + 12% import fee,+24% tax...and i didnt get to shipping yet...how its cheaper than any aluminium ,low profile clamshell set with ladders and mattresses and mounting kits-. Looks to me its more fragile and with hidden fees for mounting kits,matress,ladder....good luck guys,no offence but ,little bit pricy for ”cheap”
Will you sell the truck shells?
Not currently.
has anyone mounted it on the roof rack above the cab? wonder what that looks like on a truck
Hi Mason - we haven't done that. I'd be concerned about the length. It's certainly possible from a mounting standpoint but I think it would be too long on most trucks.
Does it fit on a Gobi rack?
I don't see why not, but to be sure send us an email at Support@gfcengineering.com
What happened to this????? I want one!!!!
Is that honeycomb aluminum panels?🤯
It's honeycomb composite 👍
Awesome! Do you have to inflate and deflate the sleeping pad every time? And do we have to blow it up by blowing into it or could we use a compressor?
Nope, you can store it as is.
Either one will do the trick!
What are the dimensions of the mattress?
The Dimensions are 50"x90" 🤘
Any way to get it in EU?
Hey Carlos, I'd reach out to Support@gfcengineering.com to see what options you have on shipping. ✌
Has anybody gotten hold or seen this tent in person, and can share pics or thoughts about it?
Its not out yet
If it was purposely given 3 more inches to allow bedding to remain in place i think it would be a hit. I LOVE the simplicity but those of us that want simple also want to leave bedding because we're lazy and also want to save time.
We hear you, but you can already fit quiet a bit in there and still close it up just fine.
@@GFC what does "quite a bit" mean. what have you stored there for bedding? and are there gas struts at all?
This looks GREAT but I'm a little bummed the tent doesn't have length options. Probably an unpopular opinion, but 90 Inch length is quite long especially given that the average height in America is 5 foot 9. With the lightweight this would be great for shorter wheelbase rigs but this is pretty much a no go. The overhang would be dramatic (wind drag) not to mention the aesthetic ruined. Just curious what the rationale was behind 90 inches in length? Any thought on offering a shorter RTT (ala james baroud 79, cvt, autohome 83)?
Bruh, sold
Still planning on getting a rack system on top for surfboard and sup? Will the top panel be strong enough to install rails like the bottom track mounting. Thanks
Hey Patrick - yes but its a soft rack so surfboards/SUPs only.
Make a 60” wide model and I’m in!
We think the 50" is plenty!
