You know all those European folk tales about a child that gets adopted by faeries? And eventually they are reintroduced to human society but they're forever changed by fae contact and you're not supposed to trust them because they have magic powers or whatever?
I always found it interesting because it's like describing humans through animal eyes. Perhaps when a when a wolf gazes upon a dog all they see is our magic touch and how we've warped its shape forever.
