The views from the aero bars are amazing and the music is spot on. Better to be safe then sorry. Coming back from Achilles surgery and am being super careful. Thanks for the video and take care, Al
Loved this video! I’ll be doing the GG Road this coming January and this helped me to get a sense of the route and the gorgeous landscapes (though I’m aware that the MTB version is a totally different level😅). Thank you for sharing this. Look forward to the next one!
I know that feeling Chris it held me back for the first 2 days. How do you get that confidence in descending on a mountain bike . Great video. Thanks, Dave Tilly.
Just riding more and more mountain bike terrain helps. I’m absolutely fine until it gets proper technical single track stuff. Loaded bikes also ride and handle differently
Brilliant ! Wanna go there instantly and for sure not only because of the bad weather in Germany...what's the music ? Desert Psychedellic Rock suits the desert ride pretty good !!!
Great first day those tracks looked pretty slick in places, there’s only so much skill will do for you on that terrain before you come unstuck best to be safe and carry on the next day 💪👍
Grand effort Chris, day 1 successfully completed 👍. Doing the right thing, not cycling overnight.....and those canarian salted potatoes with mojo or verde sauce, delicious! Superb footage BTW 👏Brings back good memories....... I really enjoyed competing there at Ironman Lanzarote over the years.. Roll on day 2 👍👍
Awesome vlog Chris So that's where Matt Damon's fiming that Martian sequel ! :) I'd definitely err on the side of caution "tearing it up" even in daylight ! Imagine a bad fall, broken bones, laceration at 4.00 am, waiting around for help ! Not a "happy chicken" Love those Robin Guthrie ish Harold Budd ish soundtracks to the landscapes. Enjoy the journey, at the pace your gut tells you. Have a great day ☀️ 🍓🐿
Watched this and then remembered that crazy rock garden descent, I don't suppose you filmed it, I wouldn't trust my teeth to hold a go pro on that one!
Was that where "One Million Years BC " was filmed . Raquel Welch did not leap out trying to spear you any way :) The Sky looked amazing like looking at Earth from in orbit.
Papas Arrugadas every day. I swear some of the trail route on LZ was the same as the on the gravel trail, but who knows it all looks the same after a while! One think is for sure about LZ it's a route awakening of what's in store. Can't wait to see if you actually make the next ferry in time.. I suspect it was either a close call or a next morning call!
You did well Chris, though terrain is quite different to UK and descending with a laden mtb adds to the spice. Mate I used to ride with just so much better than me, I could follow him up to a point then I just ran out of talent.

Thank you for watching :)
You should listen to Chris' usual 70s porn descent music it's mint 😅

@@ChrisHallRides Fab! 🙌
Take care and good luck, you’ve got this!
Thank you!
Such a a cool landscape. I'm torn between jealousy and rather you than me!
Haha 😅
great start : look forwards to the next installment.
good luck.
Thank you! More to come!
great pictures. I remember it really well. Brutal hike and bike.
Yeah definitely!
@@ChrisHallRides Rightly tough, but positively rewarding I'm certain Chris 👌✨️

Honestly I can't remember the name of the artist sorry. Shazam it? I would think it would come up.
What a crazy moonscape!
It’s pretty unreal right!?
@@ChrisHallRides Kind of beautiful, kind of hostile.
Great bike, beautiful scenery and nice ride, but we really all want your potatoes! Keep it going, you are doing well!
The potatoes are so good!!
Thanks Chris

Totally agree and I definitely didn’t film some of the more sketchy stuff yaya
Good luck, that route looks awesome.
Thank you!

Thank you. Yeah that became just the plan. Learnt a huge amount on this one

It was nuts wasn’t it!? Definitely wasn’t filming then was more trying to survive haha
Beautiful, and looking forward to the next islands ;-) Are you riding Badlands 2025?
Yes I am!
Hey Chris, would you share the track as well, please? Gorgeous sky, music matches perfectly.
They’re all on the granguanche website
@@ChrisHallRides thanks
Nice to see you in a relatively better mood after Badlands. Any other MTB plans for the future?
Not too sure to be honest. I think more for fun as opposed to ultras
Good decision.

That’s funny I was thinking it looked like the open world Zelda games - but same idea, the sky looks just … not real.
It's all pretty mad in't it? Incredible landscape
Nice job Chris 👍👍👍🚴♂️
Thanks 👍

There’s definitely a crossover between all three routes

Yeah talent gets you much further for mtb stuff haha
