3:10 We purchased a RAV4 Limited edition hybrid in February and we are getting 40 to 42 miles per gallon on the highway at 70 mph and in the city we are getting 45 to 50 miles per gallon with speeds mostly at 40 mph. As stated in your review we are very pleased with the ride and handling of the RAV4 hybrid.

I think that it depends on how much room you need. With just my wife and I and our Golden Retriever, the 2023 Corolla Cross is just fine for us. If you have to carry three or four teens or adult passengers on a regular basis, the RAV4 would be more suitable. Smaller children would be comfortable in the Cross.

A big point for me is the RAV4 has a trailer tow package which I don't think the Corolla Cross offers. I had a 96 Corolla manual transmission which went 284,000 kilometers before I sold it. It was burning 1 litre of oil every 1000 kilometers at that point but it was a good car. We spend so much on vehicles and their maintenance and upkeep it is a very important decision to make and I appreciate any advice I can get.

The Rav4 is better, but the Corolla Cross is good for those who don't need the extra space. I may chose the Corolla Cross if it was a daily commuter car and the majority of the time I was alone. If I was looking for a family SUV the the Rav4 is the best one. I wooud also consider the hybrid model if the dealers weren't marking them up so much. The localToyota dealer wanted $8,000 more for the hybrid and $20,000 more for the Prime.

I was waiting for the cross, then found out that it doesn't have a rear wiper on the base model...i'm okay with hubcaps and black mirror, but that is so stupid! Rear visibility means safety, not a place to skimp on! Then the LE is too close in price with the rav4 so the cross is out for me...

Not crazy about the over fenders on the RAV4. I’m curious if there’s more cargo space in the Cross compared to my ‘19 Corolla Hatchback. Not much leg room in the Back seat in my hatch. A grocery trip also requires that I fill up the cargo space AND the back seat. I’ll test drive the Rav 4. I’m 5’1”, so maybe the Cross will be easier for me to see out of.

I had the corolla hatchback, now have the cross and yes the trunk space is much bigger. Its about 2x the size. I am also 5'3 and easy to get in and out. What surprised me, the cross has better gas mileage than the hatchback both in town and highway driving. Its sluggish on the highway but the pros are significant.

The Corolla Cross is a pointless vehicle, except perhaps to gain buyers from existing Corolla fans. If you like the Corolla that much, then just get a Corolla. If you want a compact crossover, then go with the RAV4. Trying to get a vehicle that does both will just be a vehicle that is not designed to do anything well.
However, most people will eventually figure out that it is too close to the RAV4, but at the same time, the RAV4 beats the Corolla Cross in every way, and as a result, and Toyota's experiment with this will play out quickly.

@Alim B. You are way off. For starters, if you think the RAV4 is too big, then the Corolla Cross is too big as well. The wheelbase difference is literally 2 inches. So, if you think the RAV4 is too big, then getting a Corolla Cross isn't going to make much difference. If you want something noticeably smaller than a RAV4, you might as well get a C-HR in that case. In any case, with the RAV4, C-HR, and now adding the Corolla Cross, there is too much overlap in a crowded space, on top of already-crowded and fiercely competitive crossover segment. Toyota will end up killing one of them off (just like they did with the Land Cruiser in the large SUV segment) and it definitely will not be the RAV4. Whereas, the Corolla Cross is a gutless wonder with pathetic HP.
The RAV4 is not only the most popular crossover, but more RAV4's have been sold than any other vehicle, and that trend has not been slowing down. The RAV4 is the #1 seller.

@@HistoricalWeapons Right, so that is why you would not bother with a Corolla Cross, hence my previous comment. Just get a RAV4.

Corolla cross is a Crap...toyota took the exact same engine from sedan corolla and fitted in onto a cross...but doesnt perform well corolla cross is tall and AWD and more weight too...engine could not perform well...noisy and drags ....CVT transmission is ugly noisy and cheap transmission even tho its a toyota made CVT but still never as great as conventional Automatic transmission....in terms of performance...better drive feel and longer transmission life...

Corolla has CVT trasmisión. Not reliable. My Rav 4 is automatically trasmisión. My 2010 Corolla never has transmission problems. Because used automatically .not CVT . You are saying the truth about CVT . Break down to soon .
