Zebulous hugely popular is sorta overstating it. He’s known for being in niche, cult comedies. Most people don’t really even know his name I bet. And I wasn’t saying I’m so smart...I was simply saying his jokes went over their heads....because they weren’t laughing. Simple observation, not saying I’m the only one who gets his jokes. Just that this particular audience obviously didn’t.
The way he says “because I don’t look like a crab” killed me for some reason

Being a NZer, of course I have met this dude before. I was getting a kebab on cuba street. It was a chicken kebab with yoghurt garlic and hot chili sauce. I would have got a 3rd sauce but they charge for that

Basically every joke he tells in this goes over his head. His humor is too dry for Jimmy.

Kiwi here. I don't think Jermaine executed dry humor very well on this occasion. Jimmy was definitely getting the joke it just wasn't very funny

I first saw What We Do In The Shadows on a flight from America to Aus. It's the only time I've watched a movie on a plane when I had to cover my mouth to stop from shrieking with laughter. Such a brilliant, funny movie. Very much looking forward to the series. That hairy vampire looks like Kayvan Novak. If so, great choice. Excellent in Four Lions.

I notice that about American tv. they will frequently have subtitles for foreign ENGLISH accents (that aren’t even hard to understand.) Probably comes from being to America-centric that they really can’t understand accents.

How I know I love Jemaine: I clicked this even though it also features Jimmy Fallon.
There’s a charming quality that just few people share, the kind of person that makes you smile unintentionally.... Like Jemaine.
Not hoping to sound cheesy, but the energy that he irradiates is overwhelming, (the peculiar sound of his laugh is the best)... so so so in love with this man.
The only reason he's able to irradiate so much energy is because he sucked it out of others while cornering them at parties.

What We Do In the Shadows is hands down one of the funniest TV series i've ever watched. Taika and Jermaine's humor plus the cast have made it the best thing on TV, imo.

I love the Austin Powers type characters he plays. His characters in Dinner for Schmucks and Legion for example.
It took me a lot longer than I cared to admit that Jemaine had the upper hand here. Holy shit that was awkward comedy gold. Nathan For You levels.

To be fair, the show was a bit too pretentious. You could almost see the writers in the background high-fiving each other because of how super clever they are.
I agree. However, it's still being produced in another dimension so I'll continue to watch it there.
