You know what's sad? That this soundtrack sounds awesome, you can picture both ultimate life forms clashing in a duel were everything in their path is destroyed to prove who's really the strongest artificial being...and the actual fight was lame.
I know right? Probably the most dissapointing Death Battle of all time. I was so hyped for it, too. The only saving grace is that the analysis portion was decent, and the outcome was accurate despite the downplay on both sides (especially Shadow's)

While I don't think the fight was that bad, it could have been WAY better. I have proof! the reason it was as mediocre as it was, was because the episode's animator (who goes by the name "Dominations") deliberately did a mediocre job just because, "he didn't want to make versus matchups anymore.

Both characters have a variety of interesting powers that could have clashed against each other, but that potential ended up wasted in a minute and a half long fight with an anti-climactic ending. As much as I'm glad Mewtwo won, the way Shadow was direspected on perpouse with his intentionally bad voice acting and his 2nd humoristic death in the show just feels undeserved.

Hes wiped the minds of dozens of people and pokemon at once, and since shadow doesnt really have any immunity to mental attacks, it works. Plus mega mewtwo would likely be strong enough to outlast super shadow. But it could've been much better

Despite this DEATH BATTLE! having one of the most dumb endings (Not because of the research, mind you, but the fact that a giant sppon was involved and now we have dumb spooning jokes.), this music was awesome! Never realized how epic the seamless transition of each theme was. It's like if someone were to make a fan game where Sonic characters were Pokèmontrainers, this would fit for vs. Shadow & Mewtwo. :D
I guess it was a reference to Mewtwo using a spoon to attack that one time, but the fact that it was just a png image in the animation made it look really lazy.

I recently found this on TV Tropes: Another startlingly close resemblance is to Mewtwo from the Pokémon films. Each is a dark, mysterious Ultimate Life Form who was created to cure the ill daughter/granddaughter (Maria/Amber) of a brilliant scientist (Gerald/Dr.Fuji) reluctantly working with a villain (Black Doom/Giovanni), ends up befriending the girl only for her to tragically die, resulting in said ultimate life form seeking revenge against humanity and the world to cope with their deep sense of loss.
If you're doing the soundtrack for _Meta vs. Carolina_, you will be my hero in the online music genre. And in my top three favorite composers of all time.

Shadow beating gods is comparable to Mewtwo beating other legendaries and overall holding the title of the strongest Pokemon on Earth. Besides, the one time Shadow did help beating a litteral God, the event got erased from the timeline. When you look at thier feats or, more importantly, thier abillities, there's just not that much Shadow can do. Even Mewtwo's telekinisis on its own is something he's never really dealt with. Not even Silver can compare to Mewtwo's psychic power, especially in Mega form.

Can we stop saying the fight was lame guys? Yea it was kinda short, but consider it was right after Joker vs Sweet Tooth, and before Carolina vs The Meta, they probably had to focus on those fights more. I mean remember Carolina vs the Meta even took an extra week to come out.
This was the one shown live, and was requested far more than both of those. It should've taken priority over those episodes, sprite-based or not. Besides, it wasn't just short, but poorly paced. This felt like a 3-4 minute fight that was slashed down to less than 2 minutes (starting from the actual combat anyway). For comparison, Goku Vs. Saitama from One Minute Melee isn't much longer, yet is paced accordingly to make two amazing fight sequences. Combined with the slowness of the fight, which maybe could've worked if they had more time, but as is made it boring to watch: and it was pretty bad in my opinion. To each their own though.

Song? Amazing Fight? One of the worst in DB history, they did Shadow dirty and Mewtwo deserved a better fight. Thankfully Shadow was redeemed in his fight with Ryuko

It wasted both characters. You could do so much with an idea with this match up and they barely gave the bare minimum. Shadow just kicked mewtwo in the back of the head and mewtwo barely did anything The best thing about the fight was that mewtwo used his spoon. Even then with the stuff he did with it in magna was way better than what he did in the Death battle. It was honestly my most disappointing Death battle so far. If anything it made me appreciate Vegeta vs Shadow. There shadow was waaaaay out of his league, yet he still was able to frustrate vegeta and save the earth from the moon crashing into it. Here he kicked mewtwo, turned super, and then died. I also didn't like their reasoning too much.
I don't need it to be like a Dragon ball Z episode, but there needs to be more than what they did with it. Shadow isn't an idiot who goes guns blazing. He can actually put together a strategy. Not saying he's smarter than mewtwo, but I feel both you and Death battle underestimated shadow's intelligence. I have no problem if you like it, but I honestly find it to be a bad battle and I've seen a lot of people share my opinion on that.
He manipulated eggman in sa2, he ultimately broke out of black doom's mindcontrol, and he knew not to trust Mephiles. And Screwattck blew hs memory loss waaaaay out of proprtions. Shadow lost his memory ONCE! He doesn't lose it after every other game like screwattack made it out to be. Ok, fair enough you didn't say shadow was an idiot,but that was what I got from the way you said it. I feel I can say something is bad if I find it to e bad. I don't say that for everthing I don't like. For example I'm not a fan of first person shooters like COD. I don't say that COD is bad just not for me. Just because there are more likes than dislikes doesn't mean I have to say it's good. Death battle is a popular show so it would have to mess up really bad to get people to get more dislikes than likes. You also notice it has a lot of dislikes and comments of people disappointed with the fight. I'm sorry you felt I wasn't addressing what you said. I was just saying Shadow can do more for strategy than just attack all over the place.

"No, if you don't like something you can just say that, but if you're gonna call something "BAD" then you should have more to help back it up" I have given my reasons my reasons for saying why I feel it's bad in my first comment responding to your comment. "No he didn't he was tricked into thinking Sonic was his enemy and all humans are bad until remembering Marie's last words" No, he wasn't he offered eggman the world and showed eggman the eclipse cannon knowing that he would get the emeralds which would activate Geralds revenge program. Sonic was just an obstacle in his way. He plainly said in the last story everything was going according to plan. "Even then though he got tricked left and right and ultimately needed help to do it" Well he also could have ignored doom's orders like in the neutral and hero routes of his game. After all it's clear that the dark route where he listened to Doom isn't cannon. "Sonic Heroes would say otherwise, and that wasn't even a main part of the fight" No it wouldn't. Shadow lost his memory after sa2 as we seen in sonic heroes. That's only one time. He gains his memories back in the end of Shadow the Hedgehog and never loses them again. Wiz and Boom make sure to bring this fact up as a weakness for Shadow and bring it up again in the verdict. "Just cause he does more then that doesn't make him much of a strategies" No, but he can figure out problems and think of a way to stop them. Such as when mephiles became Shadow's shadow in his first boss fight. Shadow found a way to bring Mephiles out to defeat him. "So I really don't see where your coming from (heck, I don't even know what your arguing against anymore)" I'm just saying why I think this battle was bad.
It felt super rushed, like it was just standard abilities until Mewtwo read Shadow's mind, mega evo vs super shadow, erase memory, then death by spoon. It was over way too quickly for my tastes and they barely did anything super creative with it. But that's just my opinion.

This fight was a disappointment, as in the only Death Battle I didn't enjoy. Brandon deserves better.

This song is GREAT!!! Too bad it was wasted on this pathetic excuse of a death battle.
It wasted both characters. You could do so much with an idea with this match up and they barely gave the bare minimum. Shadow just kicked mewtwo in the back of the head and mewtwo barely did anything The best thing about the fight was that mewtwo used his spoon. Even then with the stuff he did with it in magna was way better than what he did in the Death battle. It was honestly my most disappointing Death battle so far. If anything it made me appreciate Vegeta vs Shadow. There shadow was waaaaay out of his league, yet he still was able to frustrate vegeta and save the earth from the moon crashing into it. Here he kicked mewtwo, turned super, and then died. I also didn't like their reasoning too much.
I don't need it to be like a Dragon ball Z episode, but there needs to be more than what they did with it. Shadow isn't an idiot who goes guns blazing. He can actually put together a strategy. Not saying he's smarter than mewtwo, but I feel both you and Death battle underestimated shadow's intelligence. I have no problem if you like it, but I honestly find it to be a bad battle and I've seen a lot of people share my opinion on that.
He manipulated eggman in sa2, he ultimately broke out of black doom's mindcontrol, and he knew not to trust Mephiles. And Screwattck blew hs memory loss waaaaay out of proprtions. Shadow lost his memory ONCE! He doesn't lose it after every other game like screwattack made it out to be.

I feel I can say something is bad if I find it to e bad. I don't say that for everthing I don't like. For example I'm not a fan of first person shooters like COD. I don't say that COD is bad just not for me.
Just because there are more likes than dislikes doesn't mean I have to say it's good. Death battle is a popular show so it would have to mess up really bad to get people to get more dislikes than likes. You also notice it has a lot of dislikes and comments of people disappointed with the fight.
I'm sorry you felt I wasn't addressing what you said. I was just saying Shadow can do more for strategy than just attack all over the place.
Than why did you even bring it up. What I said is true there are lot of people who were disappointed by the fight. Besides I've never said more people disliked it than liked it. Now your the one putting words in my mouth.

I have given my reasons my reasons for saying why I feel it's bad in my first comment responding to your comment.

No, he wasn't he offered eggman the world and showed eggman the eclipse cannon knowing that he would get the emeralds which would activate Geralds revenge program. Sonic was just an obstacle in his way. He plainly said in the last story everything was going according to plan.

Well he also could have ignored doom's orders like in the neutral and hero routes of his game. After all it's clear that the dark route where he listened to Doom isn't cannon.

No it wouldn't. Shadow lost his memory after sa2 as we seen in sonic heroes. That's only one time. He gains his memories back in the end of Shadow the Hedgehog and never loses them again. Wiz and Boom make sure to bring this fact up as a weakness for Shadow and bring it up again in the verdict.

No, but he can figure out problems and think of a way to stop them. Such as when mephiles became Shadow's shadow in his first boss fight. Shadow found a way to bring Mephiles out to defeat him.

It felt super rushed, like it was just standard abilities until Mewtwo read Shadow's mind, mega evo vs super shadow, erase memory, then death by spoon.
It was over way too quickly for my tastes and they barely did anything super creative with it.
But that's just my opinion.
