Very nicely made. Also it's a whole new Sonic run type. Low to the ground for most of the animation to stay as a smaller target against the enemies, I love that.
I discovered your channel because YT recommended me your video and I really liked your animation, I liked Sonic since I was a kid and I'm recently trying to learn how to use Blender to model and animate. Hey don't feel bad about "just 7 seconds", this was really well done! The models, the textures, the shading, and the animation were all really well done, and just the style I like! As an animator myself, I know how painstaking and how long "just 7 seconds" can be to make. Keep up the good work! I'd love to see more from you!
YES!!! THIS IS THE BEST ANIMATION I'VE EVER SEEN FOR SONIC! This is what Sonic should look like when he's moving, this is why I've never liked the garbage work from Paramount Pictures. They haven't understood that Sonic isn't easy to hit or capture. The flexibility he has when he is moving so fast, the ability to dodge at high speeds, his fast reaction. This 7 second is better than the entire first movie and the new one even though it's still not yet out. Keep up astonishing work and never let frustration make you give up your great work, instead keep going forward with your art. Oh god, this is by far the smoothest animation for Sonic since Sonic Unleashed.
This has shades of Sonic CD and the first Sonic Unleashed cutscene. I really need to step up my game to come anywhere close to this level of commitment and skill. Well done, Bravo!

This is actually so impressive and looks like it could be in a movie of some sort, i love how you made a detailed video on how you made it and what your process was. keep it up!
Everything about this is just incredible. I’m way more experienced in the 2D side of things but I recently started messing around in blender. This video showed me so much of what it’s capable of. Don’t even worry about the nodes bro…nodes are sucha nightmare for me but you seem to know your way around em.
you are amazingly talented. I am genuinely impressed with this. from a sonic fan to a sonic fan. keep up the amazing work. Sega should hire you. if all sonic cutscenes were this good the games would be something else
Man, after I saw your work on the SA2: Reimagined video, I thought I'd come over to your channel. Then I saw your One Piece fan animation from 5 years ago from now, and then I saw this. That is some massive improvement over those 5 years. You have more than earned a subscription from me.
HOLY SHIZZ!! WHY DOES THIS LOOK SO AWESOME?!?! Stuff like this is the reason why i like animation SO. MUCH. I was straight up geeking out the whole video! This is exactly what i want the Sonic franchise to look like moving forward, thank you so much for this video mah dude!
this is AMAZING, you are so talented and gives me hope for the Sonic fandom! I want a new game in this style so badly
You did an excellent job in your scene and it was actually one of my favorites in the collab. I’m still a noob in blender but I do want to make awesome stuff like this 👍
i could literally watch the animation ona loop for forever. holy shit the little details, especially Sonic looking back when he gets shot at . amazing, spectacular, all the words!
Wow that is a gorgeous take on Sonic!! That 2D art style has always been my favorite and I love how you translated it to 3D!
Incredible work, keep going!
some of the best 7 seconds of my life
It's really cool seeing what can be done in Blender. Cool video!
I absolutely love the styling and speed of it, really captures the hedgehog perfectly. If they ever came out with a game that looked like this I'd play it over art style alone. Great job!
I would totally play this, especially the Sonic X style theme/ the SA2 style theme, incredible
Holymoly this is legit helpful in the long run for me.
I'm learning to animate in Blender, and seeing someone's workflow like this really helps a lot! Thanks for sharing!
Kickass animation btw
This was for sure something very impressive, I just remember to enjoy Sonic so much that I never imagine, not even dimension it, all the work that is behinde the scene, I wasnt realize about how ignorant Im about produce all this kind of material. I perfectly remember how enjoy Sonic in my life, the very deep story behind the game in SA2B and their amazing soundtrack that I still listent to this days. Thank you so much for share this with us, it makes me feel a lot of things inside of me hahaha
Despite your scene being 7 seconds it’s the best looking one!
I love this! the way sonic moves looks amazing and the animation is so smooth! i also really like the way sonic is made to look like the Uekawa art! :D
Goodness so much care and thought went into this, those 7 seconds of glory left me wanting a whole game or show like this. Great choice to go with the longer quills, well done!!!
It always amazes me what fans are able to put out compared to official stuff. Thanks for the fascinating look into your workflow!
This is amazing, so freaking cool. They need to hire you asap. The amination style is so perfect for sonic.
Bro you high key a menace. Worked on the modeling, rigging, animation and compisting (with a node base program). Congrats broddy, the scene came out looking incredible.
I think this popped up on my feed since I re-imagined Sonic's design on my channel, but I'm glad I found this! It came out so awesome! As short as it was, you captured so much great speed, intensity, and personality with Sonic! Great job, Chimera!
This is so awesome to see the process behind that awesome shot!
But what's even more awesome is that you made the whole thing on an old Macbook!!
UGH IM SO GLAD I CAN SEE THE PROCESS, you literally did everything FROM SCRATCH, HOW COOL IS THAT?? I'm just so idk INSPIRED, I study animations and they are teaching me how to do 3D model, at first I didn't think I'll be good at it until I saw your channel, all I needed was inspiration and hope, and now I'm happy with all the progress I made through this 2 years of college, THIS is the time of animation wanna give!
Chimera : "I used a Mid 2012 Macbook Pro"
Me : "Is it possible to learn this power ?"
I took a look through your channel and saw your first animations, your progress is brutal!
I'm still trying to make a character walk convincingly, and this is inspiring!
Thanks for sharing it!
ahhhhh its so good! i love low poly models and cel/toon shading so much! good snippet of animation you made!
This is the most beautiful Sonic thing I have ever seen, amazing job
Both the visual style and the animation is simply top notch
Man rendering each layer separately must have taken FOREVER. Especially with a 2012 laptop. Major kudos and props to you bro.
This is so well made wat the
dude ! if this was all from u then , hats fkin off like daamn this is cleaaaaaan af !! what a smooth render man , the animation is S tier even the mix up between 2D and 3D using toon shaders was great ! the models are nice and accurate .. really good job man keep it up ! (btw i wrote this before i watch the steps and now after i finished the video i can proudly say , thanks for making my day , it's pretty much appreciated , i lost determination eventually and this helped me to bring it back a lot ! )
This animation style is actually very close to what I want to start doing thank you for visualizing
this is so cool, you did an amazing job on this, the motion, inertia and all. its so good
Chimera, I subscribed and came here just to say that you are absolutely cracked as an animator and I hope you get hired onto a really successful job doing animation because holy moly, so smooth-
Whoa! When I first saw the my eyes dropped in awe. Because this part caught my eye during the remember video how good it looked. My favourite Sonic! Your work by saying how short it is. Amazing of the best work!👍
I’ve thought for a long time that sonic would look far better cell shaded. This video confirms that it would work. Amazing work, really makes you appreciate those 7 seconds how much work this takes.
I remember when I watched the collab and I saw this part, I actually had to replay it to see if I saw what I thought I saw!
This is the best scene I've ever seen in ANY collab! I have no doubt it took over 100 hours.
You are truly a legend!
Bro. This is so good, this literally looks like an intro to a new (good one this time) sonic game! Keep doin what your doin man :)
This is So Cool! The fluid motions and powerful impacts make this seem like an official work
This has shades of Sonic CD and the first Sonic Unleashed cutscene. I really need to step up my game to come anywhere close to this level of commitment and skill. Well done, Bravo!
That was a very unique animation. No I want a cell shaded sonic game with marvelous animations like this
WOW 😱! Approximately 100 hours for a 7 second animation
