My uncle actually worked for popcap when they were still based in Ireland and not total sellouts. I remember doing a big fanart of a typical game on an A3 sheet and sending it in, they sent me a bunch of free merch back in return, some of which I still have.

I luv hearing the jingles every time i beat a very hard level even in pvz2.
Some stuff you should know:
-placing two rows of sunflowers help with sun production
-Sun shroom is half the price of sunflowers, letting you set up early while spamming low-cost plants
-Zen garden is more or less a daily chore so that you can earn lotsa money. Don’t expect more than 5 minutes spent in that area
-you can buy pool cleaners and roof cleaners, that are basically the lawnmower of those areas.
-There’s adventure 2, which is a replay of the original game, except you are forced by Dave to use three different plants every level.
-There are almost endless strategies in the game. Try to experiment and see what you find. On the pool levels, I used melon pults, cattails, spike weed and tall nut to delete the zombies.
So basically, don't trust bolt if you want to be good at the game

Another cool thing actually is in the final boss, if you let the zombies take out all the roof cleaners (roof lawnmowers) except in one lane, zomboss will only put zombies in that specific lane. Try it if u don't believe me!
Another one: you can survive all of the night levels with just puff shrooms

I remember my grandma absolutely destroying this game. She would spend hours playing it on her computer. She was probably the best player in the whole family, next to my own mom.
Update May 26 2021: My dad bought my grandma a new phone that has PvZ on it. She beat the whole game in one day. But only because she doesn't know how to exit the app because she's just getting used to the phone.

As a longtime and current member of the PVZ fandom, it means a lot for one of my favorite RUclipsrs to make content on it. You have my thanks.
I'll have you know that I played PvZ on the DS. It was amazing. The fact that the system can barely handle the game is great because you get some weird graphical glitches every once in a while, such as half-invisible gargantuars, though it also means that I can't save my progress in survival endless. I have owned the DS version for more than 10 years and it has become my de facto version of the game

Funny. I don't remember the DS version looking I remember it looking one-to-one with other versions but maybe it was my memory being faulty. Also my childhood version as well.

Survival Endless is weird because it doesn't save, and zombies generally move faster or something because strats that work on the PC version don't work on the ds version. There are also a couple different minigames and achievements, and no cheats.

In Pvz 2, some of the Premium plants are gemiun now, you can unlock most of the new premium plants with seed packs and, with premiun or no premiun plants, you can beat the game. So, pvz 2 its not a bad game only for the premiuns plants. Please change your form of see the game, that only make a bad influese :/.

I never played it, but it’s pretty interesting that it had a unique minigame that wasn’t on any other platform - the heat wave one where all the plants can overheat and stop functioning.

He simply left because he didn't want to work on the game because of PvZ2's freemium marketing, but he still trusted to people behind the franchise. If I got a dollar every time I heard this myth (which by the way has been deemed as false by plenty of PopCap employees), I'd have enough money to buy out the franchise myself.

I still find Pvz 2 very entertaining especially recently they're starting to give away all the previously paid plants to gemium or by seed packets which means they're essentially free now. Also the game is decently beatable without you needing to pay for it. If you hate it, just don't give them money, simple as that.

Exactly, if you hate the microtrasnactions, dont go to the shop, if you hate the ads, turn on airplane mode. The game is completely beatable without spending a penny, and it's probably more fun without paying for anything
And if you have an Android device, play PvZ2 Refluorished. That mod removes micro transactions, makes premium plants available through regular progression or buying from the shop, where you can no longer purchase coins and gems with real money (so better do the grind normally, especially once you consider how expensive some of the upgrades are, made worse because Refluorished didn’t change power-up and plant food costs from the original, so get ready to fork out 1000 hard-earned coins once things get REALLY difficult, but PvZ1 also make you grind for content in the shop, so fair enough, I guess), and add more content, like costumes to replace the removed plant leveling system, more permanent events to replace the original limited-time events, more worlds to play, etc.

The rake increases the time you have before you must deal with the first zombie, but it reduces the time before you face the first huge wave. Thus in Survival: Endless or when attempting levels without Sunflowers, it might be in some ways better to not use it, as you will have some more time to save up sun. (Copy from PvZ wiki)
